Souldoll Souloid discussion part 1

So they have created an entirely new category for the Souloid? I wonder how or if these new items will be limited in any way or if they will simply be making a new line readily available? These look very cool, though I like a traditional sort of doll, maybe I could take a chance on one of these because this one looks awesome!

I love this guy. He is perfect. I love the subtle-n-sexy torso. I love his size, just under 50cm. And that he'll fit other soulkid heads is a plus. So many options too!

I am unclear about the feet. Going through the 4 versions being offered plus the body by itself choice...I think he has two sets of feet? But it isn't specifically listed anywhere that I can see.

Also, even though I'm not 100% on the Iraki head, I will probably get ver. 3 because you can't beat free outfits. I do really like the orange wig better thou. sigh.

I swear a while ago it still said "normal feet and loid feet included" or something similar in the description of what you get. o_____o

 

I'm super glad to see him finally released and with prices, I've been stalking his page from day one.

I am upset that when I asked Souldoll if he'd be limited though, they said he wouldn't be. Yet, his head is completely limited to an ordering period :/. Not thrilled about that, because that's p important to me and there's no way I will be able to order during the period.

Oh well, can't win everything on a set.

 

Iraki is fantastic but I'm with everyone; I can't believe his head is going to be limited. It wouldn't be so bad if Souldoll released more optional head parts (Would love to have a Souldoll Shaun on that body!)

 

I think they're allowing the purchase of the body with a Soul Kid head. The option not marked as a version is it I think. Can anyone confirm?

 

It's in the page that shows off just the body. You can choose to add a head for $100~

And on that same note, happy hybrid time GO! XD It'll be pretty easy to make a hybrid with these bodies since they're only offered in white skin. The steel skin process is really intriguing, I'm curious as to how it ages/sands and all that jazz. Guess I'll have to order to find out!

 

If you order a full doll during the Xmas event, you can chose a free gift head, so you could still order one of the fullset versions and get a Shaun or Hunoi or whatever head to put on the doll and just have the Iraki head as an extra.
I did ask if the fullset dolls came with both feet, since they don't show the mechanical feet anywhere but in the body shots.

 

I wrote to them asking about the free head and they replied saying that the Souloid line is NOT included in the X-Mas event, so no free head.

But the layaway option is good, and they did tell me that the mechanical body comes with both sets of feet.

 

I guessed as much; on the free head part of the event info it actually lists all the doll lines that the clothing or head applies to, and souloid isn't in there, so I think it's fair to assume that if you purchase souloid then you'll get the free twin eyes and shadow colours. A pity, but meh.

 

I hope for taller android boys in the future. * u* I can't wait to see what everyone does with him!

 

O I did not see that; thanks for pointing that out I'm really debating on getting the souldroid (love that he is a mini). I hope the alternate head option is not for a limited time....

 

I asked Souldoll if the Iraki body/other head option was limited and they replied that no, it isn't~!

 

I'm actually happy that the heads are interchangeable with the SoulKids line. I can switch it out whenever i want to.

 

Now I'm torn! I really like the Ver 3 outfit and wig (i've warmed up to the white wig, rather than my initial first choice of the orange) and I had convinced myself that Iraki had just the right face
but
my 2nd half (read - fiance) doesn't like him ;_; He likes the Shaun head, which I also like, but then I don't get the outfit!
I wish I had more support on my choices. I guess I'll just continue to wrestle with myself on the issue of which to buy - I've still got time to figure it out.

Does anyone know what "Special Makeup" means? Is it a custom makeup---Do you get to request what you want?

 

Iraki is not in the X-mas evet because you receive free clothes as a gift... but what's about Iraki body + any other head? Do you receive any kind of gift too?

Has anyone ordered the souloid body with a different kids head? I ask because on souldolls site it says only boys heads are compatable, but on DDE you can choose girls heads to go with it too.
I would love to get a souloid Liddell if possible

 

That's odd....The souldoll girls and boys neck sizes are different so my thinking is that it should not work. Maybe you ought to message DDE about it thou, perhaps they have information that we don't.

I'm anxious to see a girl released in the souliod line ~_^

 

I don't think a girl head would work... Not without modding the neck first and head first. Are you wanting a boy Liddell? If you look at the body shape of the Souloid body it's almost the exact shape of the male NL body just sculpted to look like a cyborg.. It would be fun to see female Souloids.

Okay, so my pervy side is really loving her breasts. The concept is really amazing thus far. I hope they do offer different 'droid color schemes like they did with the boy. Soooo much potential!

I feel you...me and a group of others have been harassing them to make grey skin for Shiva again. First they said they couldn't because of bad weather (but they created and continued producing "mud" and other colors...) and then they said they couldn't because they got too many orders (but they continue bringing out new dolls...). *sigh*

Oh she's quite pretty, but my dolly-budget is waayy over the limit already ._. I wonder if her body will be available as a separate option like Iraki's? I would have preferred a full robot/android body over the halfsies thing, I like the detailing on her robot half, but I think it just looks a little odd to have no robot-transition on the upper half... o_o;

Well crap. I had a really neat and orderly dolly plan for the next three or so months, and this just might have trashed it. I don't know who she would be or how I could work a cyborg/mecha type character into my collecting theme, but....

 

I love this tan color, would be perfect for me -but the face is too child-like . Love love love that body -but the face just isn't suitable for those breasts .

 

Yay! All the pics and prices are up . I'm not sure what I think... I adore her body (especially the behind..lol). I'm just not sure if her face works with the body. The other thing, as much as I like her breast, I'm not so sure I'm comfortable having a completely topless doll. Too many young people visit my home, and they might not understand the "art". I was hoping Iple would give her a small jacket or something. I'm happy we can order the hat and tattoos

 

Oh man, thank you Souldoll for being quick! XD On the other hand, I am very disappointed she only comes in tanned/black skin. :/ I really do like everything about her (including her head sculpt), but I really tend to prefer pale skin over tanned.

Ah well, for some reason the majority of the dolls I've ordered recently have been tan anyway. I mean, with two bronze Euclases, a tan Angelheim Raul, and a real skin Claude, surely another tan skin doll won't kill me.

Fullset rings in at $774, huh... For all I was saying about buying her right away, I think I may wait for another couple of paychecks to come in before I put her on order. Souldoll probably doesn't start making dolls until the layaway is paid off anyway, and if I wait I can pay in full.

You could try wrapping he breasts in bandages, the organic bandage contrasts nicely with the sleek metal. You could also try commissioning a cute little bolero for her that doesn't close in the middle, so that the tips of it basically cover her nipples.

I think the baby face definitely doesn't go with the totally hot body! However..... a "personality" popped into my head this morning with a bit of a storyline, and now I totally love the idea and I think she must come home! I have never had a doll "come to life" with a story line so fast....maybe it is a sign? LOL!

 

Oh my, I've been so good this year but this girl is the perfect color tan, and sooo pretty! This is way outside what I tend to buy, but the cyborg part is really lovely and I don't see why this girl couldn't wear normal clothes. She's really interesting! She's stunning! And I need another doll like I need a third nostril. Gosh she's gorgeous though. A friend sent me her link the other day saying "doll or flower pot? You make the call" . I'd probably have to skip the flowers but wow.

And Kittyfields' link to the other works-in-progress also has me doing *headdesk* *headdesk*. Every day I think "no more dolls!" and every day there's something to blow that short-lived plan apart. Ah well.

Come to think of it, I don't care much for the color-scheme. Nothing against tan dolls, or variety, but I think I would be more tempted if it was in the 'steel skin' resin again, instead of black.

Also, there is a distinct lack of demension in the femal souliod body compared to the male. Perhaps they toned it down since its taking so long to make the male body? I don't know, but I'm not as impressed with this one as I was with the boy body.

That being said, there is one thing that I really love - that little part on her arm that's ripped open with metal parts inside. Love it!

 

She looks a lot like T-elos from Xenosaga, especially with purple and tan skin colouring going on. I'm postive they must have taken inspiration for her from the game art. Which has me wondering - how long until we see a KOS-MOS look a like? My bet is one isn't far off.

I just wish souldoll were making them in the larger 60cm size

I think her face-up is making her seem more cherub-like. I won't be using the same colours. Hang on, I don't even have the money to put her on layaway so what am I saying?

Wow, she's amazing! But, I do agree with her face being too baby-faced for those amazing boobies (seriously, look at them boobies!! ). For such a mature body, I would expect a more mature face, even though she's very beautiful as is. Ack, I need another doll like a hole in the head!

Her resin color is gorgeous. I don't have any tan dolls as of right now, and, in general, they don't tempt me, but this particular color combination is just amazing.

Enaibi actually already made an SD-size robot girl who reminds me a little bit of Kos-Mos (though she was apparently inspired by Clamp). Her name is K-Rose N.

Can you tell I have robot doll hype? I'm debating on getting Ier's headpiece. I don't like the wig, but I kinda like the flowery thing, and they can't be ordered separately.

 

I'm sure that the enormous difficulty in casting and assembling Iraki made the SoulDoll staff realize that if the Souloid line was going to continue they would need to streamline the designs.
