Souldoll Soul-Sweet Discussion Part 1

I actually bought Free2bme's Eun-Jin. She's delightful! I'm still getting used to her.




With a wig (6/7 Monique)


I wanted to move her eyes (currently 14mm I believe) but they have a dome and just didn't want to move up. Do you think she could wear 12mm or would it look funny?

 

A little more information. I may actually be talking to myself since no one else seems to have her but just in case anyone is thinking about it. Eun-Jin seems to fit a 5/6 wig at least in the Monique line. I got her some 14mm luts glass eyes and they are a much better fit. I think the pictures above may have 16mm eyes. Or perhaps the 14mm souldoll acrylics are just quite large.

I've found that Souldoll Sweets fit really well into clothes from the Ideal doll company. Sadly I am not sure which size they are. But here are two examples although I should wait to get pictures in better light.

The pink dress fits like it was made just with her in mind.

I love the Hippie version, and it would be really sweet I think to have her face done to look like Kat von D!!
( She look a lot like her I think!!)

But I still haven't pressed buy....

I snapped one of these up with some of my tax refund money. Couldn't resist--I just love the body style and the head. Anyway, I got her on Friday and finally got to play around with her a bit. I didn't get the outfit for her (I ordered the Devil) but she came with a face up. I was supposed to get a wig with her, but they forgot to include it in the box so they're sending it now. I have only MSDs and tinies so I really had to scrounge to come up with a wig--the one I put on her was from one of the wig patterns out there and was *supposed* to be MSD sized but ended up being SD sized when I got done with it. Good thing, though

Anyway, here she is:


I adore her and really love the whole out-of-proportion thing going on with her. Her posing is pretty good, similar to what I've found with other Souldolls--neck movement is extremely limited and her elbows like to stay bent. But she's got pretty good balance and, other than the neck, she can do some pretty nice poses.

Second one's a bit washed out cause I had to use a flash--it was a quickie photo shoot setup. I'm actually planning on modding mine to add some boobs, I think. (None of my tinies are kids--well, the Brownie sort of is a kid, or at least acts like one.)

If you need some better photos, I'll try to get some for you. The factory face up includes upper lashes, btw.

I was wondering what size wig fits these cuties? I am tempted to get one soon, but I am having trouble to find out what wigs fit. Thanks ^-^

 

I thought size 8/9 was the right fit but found out recently that 7/7.5 fit better--I was told Ellowyne wigs are a good size for her.

 

So around a size 7? Do you think 6-7 will fit?

 

I think a 6/7 might be a tad too small. And 7/8 will only fit if you don't put a silicone cap on her head. If you add the silicone cap, you need to go up a wig size. One problem with the bigger wigs is they tend to be too full and too long for the little Lappy. I took the silicone cap off mine at the Austin con and tried on a 7/8 from Jpop and it fit her perfectly--the wig was snug and the proportions were just right. She'll probably need a small piece of moleskin or something similar on the skullcap to help secure the wig, but overall it was a really good ft.

 

Since their isn't a discussion thread, I thought I'd start one to get things rolling.

Anyway, this is for SoulDoll's Soul-Sweet line of dolls, including Lappy, Pauline, Mori, and any future heads they release.

Souldoll has been selling the heads from their previous round of these dolls (which used a more general Yo-SD body). I'm going to ask if the old heads are compatible with the Lappy body, but I don't think that they are considering they haven't made any notion to sell them as a full doll.

 

Yeah I've been wanting a Lappy for the longest time but I'm just not sure about the heads, so this is nice to see. I do hope the other heads are compatible, I'd really love an Elin head on a lappy body >.<

 

Here are my Agga and my Paulin.There is a big difference beetween die bodies,and Agga's neck is bigger than Paulin's,so the older heads will not match on the Lappy body.
But the Lappy body is really great,a wonderful poser!!

 

In response to the question I sent, Souldoll said something along the lines of other Sweet girls not being restocked for a half a month at least.

I'm not sure if they mean that they are planning to release another new head sculpt, too, or if they mean re-release.

 

I've just gone on a BJD-wonderland-tour, trying to figure out which doll should be my next. I've always adored the SoulKids Amy, but I'm not sure I want to go that big (ha ha! I know most people wouldn't consider them big at all) and oh, the LAPPIES. Are they just too cute, or what? So, of course, now I am all confused again.

I don't know how long I can resist Lappy-bunny, though, I really don't.

Wow, this thread hasn't been posted on in nearly a year! Is anyone else excited about the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs dolls? I love several sculpts and the outfits are gorgeous. I want someone to buy one so I can see owner's pics!

 

I saw some of the little Soul Sweet dwarves are named after Watership Down characters and made delighted squeaking noises. XD They're all so cute, especially Ranbi! I'm glad they're not limited sculpts.

 

I just saw the new event dolls from Souldoll, I love Ranbi too.

After looking through the pages again, I think Woundwort, Blackavar and Ahrairah are also very beautiful.

 

Can anyone reccomend a site where I can buy clothing for the Souldoll sweet line?

I have a Ranbi and Blackavar on order, and was wondering that myself -- checking out their measurements, though, looks like they are a fairly standard YoSD size. Very close to Volks YoSD and Fairyland's Littlefee, so any clothes from those company should probably work, or any outfits on Etsy and Ebay labeled "YOSD." But, I'm not sure if the current Sweet line has the same measurements as the older line...?

 

I was about to ask the same question! I just ordered a Ranbi and my tiny clothes are all made for the slim tinies, not a standard size. At least I'll have time to shop?

I'm firmly planning to get a souldoll sweet blackavar, but i want her in tan skin. there is an event going on right now and I'm not sure I'll be able to get her in time with this event. i really hope the tan skin is available after this time period.
edit: I contacted souldoll and they said the tan option for resin is not limited, but they might stop it when they feel like it. I'm still trying to save up some more, so I can order her by the end of this month. ^^

as for the size of the little ones, i assume they have the same size as soom teenie gems but are more sturdy. ^^

I can't believe how few of these sweethearts are on the forum! I adore Woundwort. Having mostly gone to large dolls and never owned a tiny, I'm nervous about size. Do you think a Sweet head would fit a Kid body?

 

Anyone know if the heads would fit? I might end up with an adorable army.

OldMagician , thank you so much! She's gorgeous - even prettier than in official pictures The face-up is very nice! I like that they used such lovely, long lashes!
How do you like her body? Does it pose well?

 

Anna: Surprisingly well, All limb joints are double-jointed and locks into place nicely, , the thigh joints locks into place as it should (in my opinion), the torso-bust joint also works nicely, she can both arch back and slump forwards. Joints for hands and feet are a bit limited, but the fact that she comes with four pair of hands overweight that.
The double joints fits so snugly that I first thought she had single joints.
When I get time I'll take some posing pictures.
The lashes are lovely but was a bit loose (easy to fix), the eyes I do not like though, it's their "twins eye" type, and they are very hard to place in any way but straight forward, partially because of the high dome. Overall I am very happy over the new little one. ^_^

 

OldMagician, it sounds like a body that I would like! I'd love to see pictures, when you have the time I am not a fan of Souldoll's double eyes myself. The domes are way too high and it pretty much means that I can only have them in one position (I have this issue with a Soulkid, as she still has the default eyes Souldoll sent).

Are you happy with the quality of Souldoll's outfit for her? Does it fit well? It's absolutely gorgeous!

 

The outfit is simple, fits well and good quality, I had to iron down the lace collar on the white dress, but still I wont complain (after all it was included as a x-mas gift).

I'll try to take some photos of the body and posing this weekend.

Nice to hear that their outfits are good quality - they are so imaginative and fun! Hopefully, by the time I'm ready to order, more outfits will be released for the Sweet line.

I never really liked kid dolls untill I saw tan Ranbi, she's amazing! I'm surprised there are so very few pictures around... actually, I don't think I've seen any here on DoA

Matango: The faceup is nice, even if it is slightly glittery, but that fits into my scenario well enough. ^_^

I ordered Sarri for the Xmas event (man, they got a little stingier with freebies, didn't they?) but I've only ever seen one owner pic of him/her. Anyone else have a Sarri here?=(

 

After returning to the hobby (after finally getting a job to pay for the hobby), I'm getting ready to buy my first doll in the next two months, a Souldoll Cubarem with Stain makeup. But there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity around Souldoll Sweets! What is a good eye size for these guys? The website isn't super helpful, but seems to suggest 12 mm?

I wonder if the two new sweets are on the same body as the rest of them? You cant tell at all from the photos, and it looks like she has fist hands, which aren't offered anywhere else on the site.
In my experience, souldoll eyes are labeled smaller than they are, so if the site says 12, it may be 14.
I ordered Frith -woods version- with the Christmas event. I don't think the souldoll team likes her very much lol, there's only a few pictures, and half of them have her hands in front of her face

 

ditto the cubarem! love his sculpt, though I'm not sure if I could work with those eyebrows. I wonder what it would be like to sand him, given his texture?

 

Has anyone found any shoes that fit these guys? The tops of there feet are so big. I wish they had an extra ball joint on their hands because my Ranbi cant jesticulate as easily xD... shes so much bigger than my spiritdoll! She's so cute though I gave her a vampire faceup... I might change it later and take off the fake fangs... she just needs her lashes...

I finally got my Cubarem~ I love his face up so much!

 

I have been thinking about hybriding Soul Doll Rabarem (or Cubarem) head to MSD sized body. HAs anyone ever heard that someone had already done that? As I would be happy to hear what kind of bodies will fit best (color and size-wise).

 

Has anyone else gotten one of the sweets with the stain face up? I love my Cubarem- but I want to see what other's turned out like! c:

Melface, it's great to see a Cubarem owner pic! I have Rabarem, as a girl, with the default (not stain) face-up. I think she is wonderful, very different, and I love the textured "skin" and eyebrows. I was so impressed I also got Yolbahora. She is also amazing and I would love to have this entire family--Kulbahora and Cubarem too--but that probably won't happen.

I just (finally!) received my twin girls, Souldoll Sweet Isla...



I ordered one Wildcat and one Rabbit, and the only thing i was disappointed about is the Wildcat (grey) wig - it's terrible quality in comparison to the Rabbit one which is lovely, they're wildly different. I now plan to re-wig them both as i was originally going to keep the grey. Onto the dilemma of which size wigs to order...!
