SoulDoll Soul-Double Discussion

So far, I've tried Violet Fern clothes on my Queena, and those work very well. I'll be happy to post pictures and more clothing findings as soon as I get a chance.

 

I received Hye a couple of months ago and just love her. As she looks so good in a pair of Souldoll jeans that I purchased from a friend, I haven't tried anything else on her! She's a thin girl, so there are probably MSD outfits that might fit. Hopefully, I'll try something else on her soon.

 

I have a Hye head and now I'm trying to find a body for her. I love Souldoll double body, but I hate the double-jointed knees, and sometimes I feel that the Souldoll body doesn't match with the Hye body, the head looks so big in that body!

Am I wrong?

 

Does anyone know which brand of clothes will fit a souldoll double girl other than souldoll itself?? The SDs clothes are too baggy and it seems the 1/4 wigs fit much better on my girl...

 

Souldoll Souldouble girls (Hye, Queena, Phillipa, and the others) are more petite than other SD-scale girls, yes. They wear size 7-8 wigs, and they have proportionally long legs with very short and fairly slender (but quite curvy) torsos. For this reason, buying clothing for them can be very hit-and-miss.

As a general rule, MSD-sized shirts will fit the Souldouble girl body fairly well, though the sleeves may be a bit short on their arms. MSD shirts made of stretchy materials with slightly overlong sleeves will be a perfect fit on a Souldouble girl, as will tank-tops and shirts with very short sleeves (since the sleeve length on the latter two types of shirt won't matter). Likewise, their very small waist means that they can wear many MSD-sized skirts (and even dresses), but the skirts will be shorter on the Souldouble girl than they would be on an MSD, so getting longer ones is a good idea (if it's already short on the MSD, it'll probably be indecently short on a Souldouble girl).

Pants are trickier. Despite their relatively large butts (they've got some booty), Souldouble girls can often fit (tightly) into pants made for the larger/thicker-bodied MSD lines. However, the pants legs will be far too short. So some full-length MSD pants can be used as floods/capri pants on Souldouble girls, and they can wear some of the baggier MSD shorts (the length of the shorts doesn't really matter). However, if the MSD pants are made of material that doesn't have any stretch to it (like demin), this usually won't work, as the pants will be a bit too tight to fit over the Souldouble girl's butt. Conversely, most SD-sized girl pants will be around the right length for Souldouble girls (maybe just a tad bit long), but will be quite baggy and loose, especially around the waist and butt. Again, SD pants made of stretchy materials (like leggings) will fit best, because they're made to be tight-fitting on SD dolls, so on Souldouble girls they'll be just about right.

I have a friend who has a Souldoll Hye, and isn't very familiar with sizing in the doll hobby. I generally tell her to go for MSD shirts, jackets, dresses, shorts, and skirts, and for SD girl pants and jeans. It seems to be working fairly well, though she does occasionally have to take in the waistband of a pair of SD pants to keep it from slipping down over her Hye's hips!

 

I adore the boy faces. Not a fan of the old or new bodies though. The newer knee joint is an improvment, but the chest plate is weird. After obssessing over the pictures, I think its the placement of the curvature of the pec that's off. Until I can get over that (or they make ver. 3) I'm putting getting oen of the back burner. Which is tough, 'cause Morse beckons me.

 

How about if I pop in wondering about other companies clothes for the boys? I already found out about the wig issues, but the fit is close enough and the wig was inexpensive enough that I really don't mind. However, cuz clothes usually cost more, anyone have any advice about how other companies' clothes fit on a double-boy (since actual souldoll clothing sells out far too quickly)?

 

I found it quite hard to find things to fit my Souldoll Double Morse. SD13 shirts looked very big on him, as though a child growing into some clothes, which I didnt think added to his masculine look. Same as SD13 trousers. SD10 and maybe some larger MSD clothes (maybe something like Zaoll or Iplehouse) would fit?
I actually found the default Morse outfit a little too tight on him as well. The jacket especially across his shoulders.

 

I'm considering getting a Philippa head and looking elsewhere for a body. Not a fan of the way Souldoll double joints look and their general anatomy. I do like their height though at the slightly short height from 60cm so I'm looking around for a body that's 2-3cm shorter.

 

Thats the same with me Buki, I wish they would release a general SD body for the girls, I like the height and their sculpts but I used to have an MSD double jointed Souldoll body...nightmare.

The new SD winter event Cloe has the option to buy with "old" or "new" type body...does anyone know what they're referring too? I posted a question on their Q/A but I wasn't sure if anyone knew off hand...

 

I think this is something new and I can't find any comparison pics yet, as there are for the old and new male bodies and the Soul-Kid bodies. With the Kids, they removed the double joints from the knees and elbows for the new body and the measurements are slightly different.

 

Hey gang, forgive me if someone's already answered this. If so, kindly point me to the thread or post and I'll be a happy girl. Anyone know what other male bodies would take a SoulDoll Double boy head well (NS)? I'm not a fan of either Double body, but if they ever sell the Morse head (and Nia's up, so it's possible) I want to be prepared.

 

They posted up the pictures of the new Soul Double body. WOW! It's COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the old version. No more shelfy boobies and extreme collar bones.

 

The new body reminds me of the Zenith body. And I do like the looks of the joints a lot!

 

I was just going to pop in and ask about the old Souldoll bodies... I just bought one secondhand, a boy body from about 2008. XD Sounds like the jointing is pretty wonky. Do any of you have suggestions on how to handle it, or pictures showing the poseability of the older body?

Does anyone know if Crobidoll R & M Line clothes fit on Souldoll Double Boys? I've ordered Eliot and got him a Crobi outfit and am a bit worried it might not fit.

 

I really love Juanna! I want more pictures of souldouble bodies up close and personal, but I still don't know if I want to pay that much money for one doll ><

 

Hey there all! I don't have a souldoll (yet?) but I just looooove the Gisele head. Unfortunately, the character I have in mind is actually a boy and not a girl. Can anyone here give me the measurements for head and neck for the souldoll double girls?

And anyone that has Gisele, is she just as pretty in your hands as she is on the screen? >w<

 

I have Helga (SoulDouble Chloe), the new body is perfect! I like it very much!

 

Beware of the Gisele (... and a lot of Souldoll girls, in reality) : the face is asymetric. You will have to work on it (by sanding) in order to have the eyes on the same level. Cycy had posted picture of her work on this head, if I remember. But she's a pretty doll, yeah &#9829; You can check customised heads on Deviantart, Tumblr, Flickr and others, I guess.

I read that it was corrected but it will be better to check informations on that. I am pretty curious to see "new" Gisele to compare them with the old ones.

 

I just got a Souldoll Star and her face is asymetric. Her bottom lip is lower on one side and the nose is not straight. I kinda like it though... gives her personality.

I was wondering, since this is my 1st SD girl, all my other dolls are 70cm boys... would SD10 clothes fit them? I bought this dollheart outside and is masive on her u_u; ... think it was SD13 tho.

 

Hye is definitely not symmetrical; I could tell at a glance once I had the blank head in hand. I can't say it actually bothers me, though. It doesn't look lopsided in any way -- it's just not perfectly symmetrical. I'd actually say it adds to the realism of the sculpt, at least for me; it gives her a very human quality that isn't always there (in my opinion). The detail in her head sculpt is utterly divine.

She isn't on a Souldoll body -- she's going on a Dollmore Glamour Eve body, which is a close-but-not-totally-flawless resin match to my eye -- but I do have a double girl on the older body, an Ignis. It's definitely a body with some quirks, but it is also quite lovely -- I don't have any complaints about it. It makes a nice 'very petite/youthful female' when stacked up against a crowd that tends to otherwise be 60-72cm, with a few other girls just under the 60cm mark.

 

Can anyone with a Killian tell me what size eye and wig works best with him? From the pictures I've seen and comments I've heard it sounds like his head is fairly small so I'm guessing a smaller SD size wig would work. And his eyes look really small, so 12mm could be ok, right? I'd greatly appreciate any comments you could give me, thanks!!

 

I know I'm really, really late to this party, but the comments here on how unbalanced the Gisele mold is scared the crap outta me while I was waiting for my girl, so I figured I'd comment here and say my piece so other future Gisele owners don't freak out as bad as I did. :P

I got my Souldoll Gisele literally yesterday, and she isn't noticeably asymmetrical in the least. To my eye at least, her proportions are perfect, and she's amazingly gorgeous. So it looks like the Gisele sculpt has definitely been adjusted. :3

@roserising: your Giselle is lovely. perfectly symmetrical. I like the shape of her eyes Can anyone tell me the neck circumference of the soul-double girl body? it isn't listed on the website. I love Star and Hye and I'm thinking of hybridizing.

 

I wish Souldoll would offer the Star head separately... I wonder why they offer some and not others?
On the subject of Gisele, I have one and I love her. She is gorgeous. I've never noticed anything off about her face, but then I am just smitten with her so I guess I could have missed it She is so delicate and gentle, a true beauty!

I'd measure, but I'm sure you mean at the point the neck meets the head, and I'm not a skilled enough doll owner to risk taking Bailey's head off, especially not by myself.. xD; knowing my luck, I would never ever get it back on!

Bronzephoenix: Ooh, your Gisele is adorable! It's interesting how different these girls can look depending on how you dress them and what wigs/eyes/etc. they have. Your girl looks so sweet-! While my Bailey has an attitude. XD

I was really surprised by how well Bailey fit into her boyfriend's clothes.. he's 72.5cm tall XD but they looked good on her!

 

Does anybody knows how long it takes befor you have youre doll at home? I ordered the doll by a dealer, in Europe, in november 2010 and they say that they still haven't got a message that it is shipped.... . They say it always takes long with Souldoll. So how many month's must I wait??

 

I know that Killian's head is a little bigger than Ize's, but I'd think it's close enough. They work well in 8-9 wigs and 12mm eyes.

 

Orlanda, I would ask your retailer what's up, because it's my impression that wait-times of longer than a couple of months at most are highly irregular for Souldoll. I ordered my girl in late December and she was here by mid-February. :\

 

I have ask today how long they think it will take to receive the doll Osu. So I wait and hope that it won't be that long annymore. Cross my fingers! It can be that they had to wait, because they had to have two doll's orders until they can order at the company. It says that they must have two doll's to order. But TWO that can't be long... to have that together. Mmm happy waiting to me..

 

So I just saw the news thread for Paolo, and fffffff. Looks like I'm adding another doll to my wishlist.
I don't even know which body I want for him. I like the knees on the old body, but the torso on the new one. I can't decide! Ah well. He's in the back of my dolly priorities right now. After I finish up my current doll needs, I'll be getting my Loongsoul, then my Carina, THEN Paolo. But still.

Owner pics of him might make me change my mind, though.

Also his head isn't available separately so I don't think we have much of a choice on that yet. Does anybody know where I could find pictures of both the old and the new body? I tried searching on the Souldoll site but am not sure which body I found pictures of...

 

aiko: If you go under "dolls info" there's a thread with a picture comparison of old vs. new. The Old one has the streamlined knees, the New one has the thinner torso.

 

I LOVE Paolo! My heart skipped a beat when the page loaded and I saw him. I really want him. He looks a bit like B-el, don;t you guys think? I've always fancied the idea of a large Unoa boy!

 

Paolo is fantastic. But I wonder what is up lately with the Soul girls and the goofy smiles. I like smiling dolls, but Mariani and Shy Rossi have been smoking something good, and Dancer Rossi is about to launch into her 87th verse of "I'll take you home again, Cathleen."

Here's a question for the experts in the audience ... How would it work (would it work at all?) to put a Soul Double boy head on a Soul Double girl body?

 

I can see that in them Polyhymnia! I just never knew how to word it xD. I'm actually very happy the Paolo has such a wonderful serious type expression. One of the other things I'm absolutely in love with about him is the fact that he is pretty but I don't think he's too pretty. He seems just the right mix of pretty yet still looks like a boy!

I also have a question too, does anyone know if the outfits for him and the new female are sold out or just not released yet? I've been putting off ordering him right away so I can think about him but I also want to get the outfits with him.

Did you get him in white or normal skin?

 

I ended up getting him in white skin. I know they photoshopped the promo photos to be a little bit more of a warmer skin tone but I have a cellphone photo I took of one of the promo shots that makes him look very white (close to the actual Souldoll WS) and I love him in it. It's a shame though that they don't have any unedited photos of him in both skin tones, it would be nice to see the difference.

I like how dramatic his face up can be though so hopefully it'll show up well on the WS! (Plus I figure he can't be whiter than my Luts whiteskin boy...)

 

I would personally like to see him with no faceup. But then, I want to see all dolls I plan to get with no faceup, as most of the time, I don't use company faceups. xD I may like them, but I'll want to tweak them.

 

I love Paolo as well and hope someday to get him. I think I would go for Normal Skin with a custom face-up. Would be nice to see photos of him without face-up as well. In the gallery where Souldoll compares the old and the new body, is it correct to assume the new body is the one on the right side?

I bit the bullet and purchased the outfits Paolo and Mariani are wearing; It was a lot of money, but I have never been lucky to see outfits I like still available on their website before. I messaged Souldoll before about how I am on their mailing list for updates but never receive them, their test email to me work, but the updates still don't reach me.

 

I'm waiting for Paolo's outfit to go back on sale (tomorrow). I think this is the closest I'll come to buying a fullset doll, because it (and the boots) look so perfect with him.

 

I'm doing the same thing Polyhymnia! I'm just hoping that I can get a set, I was considering getting Mariani's outfit as well but I have to double check to see if it'll fit any of my current dolls.

He does look really good in that outfit and I could see him wearing that a lot.

EDIT: Did Paolo's outfit ever go back on sale? I was out so I didn't get a chance to check until now and its still reading as "Sold Out".

 

I bought mine last night, around 10:00 Eastern Time. Surely they haven't sold out again already?

Update: Looks like they have sold out. If you check with Doll Peddlar, they sometimes have Souldoll outfits and shoes that have sold out on the Souldoll site.

 

Does anyone have an Aurora? I've been eyeing her for a little while now, but would like to see some owner-pics of her before I make any decisions. ^^

 

@ Polyhymnia: Unfortunately yes, it does look like it sold out . I have the shoes I just would've liked the outfit.

I also checked Doll Peddlar and Denver Doll Emporium but neither has his outfit listed (Thanks for suggesting checking there though). I guess I'll just wait around and hope it gets restocked sometime before he arrives? I'm a bit surprised that it sold out so fast though...

And Teru, have you checked the Doll Database or the Picture Request threads yet? You may be able to find pictures of her there!
