They said the same to me before, end of Feb, but when I messaged them about a week ago they told me it had been delayed again until the end of March. I hope they'll be able to catch up and get on top of their orders soon. I dont mind waiting, but it feels a little frustrating when they first told me 14 weeks (end of Dec), then end of Feb, and now end of March. Hopefully they can pull through.
I hope it‘s ok to randomly share my dolls on the thread, still finding my way around the forums! These two are a Joelle and an Elfin. I‘ve had them for a year but only just got around to playing with them, and then I realised I‘d lost Joelle‘s custom pants somewhere in my storage bins. So currently he‘s wearing SartoriaJ female 1/4 doll leggings…they‘re actually a pretty good fit. IMG_4007 by Clara Schuh, auf Flickr IMG_4010 by Clara Schuh, auf Flickr I set out wanting to shell Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy from Harry Potter in their Hogwarts years. If I ever find Joelle's clothes, I'll try to do a proper magic-themed photoshoot. For now, they're just chilling in front of the Black family tree.
It's highly encouraged to post the ocational image in discussion threads, who doesn't love seeing more dolls, after all! There is a rule that says to restrict it to just one image per post in discussions, though, as this is mainly a place for, well; discussion. Photo sharing is great, but in moderation. If you have more photos you want to share you can either save them for later and post one here every now and then, or you can make a post in one of the gallery forums where you can post as many as you want in one go. Those forums are specifically for showing pictures and while people can comment and talk about the pictures there, there is usually not a lot of in depth disussion going on. I know next to nothing about Harry Potter, but your dolls look lovely!
Thank you so much for the info! The rules are a lot to take in at once so the reminder is much appreciated. I‘ve edited the post to contain only one picture.
On April 12th Denver doll told me that souldoll is a bit behind so they didn’t have an ETA yet when devonia and kyron should arrive, but I hope it will be soon! April 30th my friend got her devonia from Alice collections so here’s to hoping kyron and devonia will be here soon…
I have a question, does anyone have comparison pics of any kind to show what the SoulDoll's "new white" resin looks like? I loved their event Persephone in that blue-ish resin, and have thoughts of maybe dyeing a SoulDoll Willow to a similar color. But I can't find photos for their "new white" resin anywhere, let alone customer photos or comparisons to other companies. If anyone has photos, I'd be really appreciative!
They had photos on their old website, but unless they changed it again, "new white" is like a really, really light flesh color, like Dollzone Peach or Withdoll Rose White. White-y color with a pinkish undertone. "Old White" is a fantasy color, more of a classic paper/snow white color.
Thank you for your reply! I managed to find one company photo of it with old white and their 'normal' resin. But I have a Finley in normal resin and it didn't look like the picture? So I wasn't sure if I could trust it to be accurate (maybe it's my monitor though!). I wonder if a pale pale peach would mess with dyeing a doll blue... hm. I'll have to think about it! I might go ahead and order Willow anyway, she's so pretty
@nat97 - I think Souldoll changed their NS at some point too. I had an older body that was noticeably darker than post 2019 NS which is more pinkish and pale. The white I have is white with a very slight pinkish undertone so I think it'll dye blue reasonably well.
My Finely is the pinkish NS! So that makes sense The comparison photo I saw must be older then. And thank you for describing your doll's white resin! Makes me feel better to hear someone who owns one thinking it'd dye ok. I'm going to save up and try it then! Willow is one of my favorite SoulDoll sculpts, she's so pretty Thank you everyone for your advice!
Well, a few days ago, I got my shipping notification from DDE and Devonia and Kyron are finally here! I probably won't get any good pictures of them today, but I plan on taking photos of them later.
I'm still waiting for my order from July 2023 but reading that more and more people seem to be getting their dolls is giving me some hope
I'm also on a wait from July 2023... I am glad people are getting their orders, but I wish Souldoll would respond to inquiries. I left a message on their Q&A board on May 3rd and the 30th. Both still haven't had a response. On May 30th I also reached out to them via email and I haven't had a response either...
Let's hope that our orders will be shipped next!! Although them not replying is making me very worried
I ordered a head through Alice Collections Feb of this year and inquired a few weeks ago about it, and was told Souldoll was still working on items from August of last year so I hope that means the July orders will be on their way to y'all soon!
It's good to see where folks' orders are in a way - I placed an order as part of the Angel Persephone event (where you could get the event head - I am getting a Devonia) in late October. They were still listing 12 business weeks for the expected shipping time. Obviously at this point we are over 20. I've reached out twice (once on the shop board on May 26th and once directly via email just 5 days ago) with no response... so I was starting to feel anxious. I have seen that they are replying to some other posts on their site though. Excited to keep lurking to see folks' pictures as all the lovelies start to arrive for everyone!
Hope you guys waiting on dolls get them soon! Take a picture of my Woojin that got home last week from getting painted in these trying times.
@puppymush Thank you! He turned out even better than I imagined he would. Komorebi Dolls never disappoints me haha. I made him to be Arataka Reigen from the anime Mob Psycho 100 and the sculpt worked out much better than I expected.
@Singull I admit I had to look up Arataka Reigen haha, but can confirm the resemblance is most certainly there! Good job capturing the character!
Has anyone received their angel persephone's yet? Last time I emailed them they said she'd be ready in April... and since it's now July I sent an email a few weeks ago asking for the status. No reply. So I sent another getting a little worried
@Hannya they ended up replying, and the delays are due to their main makeup artists still being ill unfortunately hope they get well soon
It sounds like they still have quite a backlog with orders, even the dolls with no makeup, unfortunately. I just now got an email that my Vito boy (no makeup) was ready to ship and I ordered back in December, but I've heard some others having been waiting a year I wish the artists a speedy recovery and hope Souldoll is able to get caught up on orders soon...
Wow, I'm sorry to hear their artist is still very sick. I love Souldoll's work and every aspect of their dolls - especially their faceups... but I hope all this looming pressure for orders isn't stressing out their artist. Honestly, Souldoll might consider offering refunds for the makeup only to the people who have been waiting a while and try to cut down their waiting queue down and prevent their artist coming back to a hundred dolls to paint - but not sure what the circumstances are/will be when they return. @strawberry_parade : I haven't seen any Angel Persephone's as of yet. I just received (a week ago) my Vito Aspyn with no makeup after a year of waiting. If I remember correctly, Aspyn was released before Angel Persephone so my guess is that would be the next batch of orders they'll start. Sorry for your terrible wait!
So I finally got an answer from Souldoll. Apparently my order should be ready at the End of August (Millie with Faceup). It has been 13 months, I reeeeeaaaally hope that they'll finally ship her out!
@Hannya Congrats on news of your Millie! I hope they follow through and get her shipped on time! Currently I'm still waiting for news of my order, over a week later after Souldoll told me it was ready to ship. I finally emailed a couple days ago to ask when they expect to ship but nothing. Ironically I was resigned to wait months more, but Souldoll emailing me has made me very impatient all of the sudden
Thank you I totally get what you mean. I'm usually patient but ever since Souldoll gave me an estimated shipping date back in June (which passed by without another word from them or a shipping notice) I can't wait for them to finally ship her out. Let's hope that we'll get our orders soon!
Sounds like we're in the same boat! I genuinely wish they wouldn't reach out unless they're planning on shipping that same day. I worked so hard to prepare myself for a much longer wait but they really got my hopes up haha. As of today, I still haven't gotten a response to my email and I'm doing my best not to worry. Here's hoping we both get some good news soon!
Hi, I was wondering if any of you would like to share your Yeon-Be? She's a bit old mold but still one of my favourite soulkids. She's my oldest doll now, and the second one I bought when I got into the hobby. Here's my Polaris. Anyone want to share theirs?
@Caramello_Cat your Yeon-Be is gorgeous! I don't have this one, but Souldoll old school molds are what got me into this hobby, so I'm always happy to see them!
SoulDoll is doing a sale of some in stock heads (via Instagram). I'm interested in Linzy - does anyone here have her? I'd love to see some IRL pics of the doll!
I recently purchased one of the in-stock Linzy heads via instagram, so I can get you some photos later c: on that note, I could really use some help finding a suitable body for her I don’t want to have to wait for a year for Souldoll to make a brand new body, so for the time being I’m mostly interested in in-stock/secondhand bodies, but I’m not sure what sort of bodies that will fit her? My head is in NS
I am thinking of buying a Souldoll Saka head and a Souldoll Hari head... Saka I might make into a girl, shave her elf ears down a little bit, and put her on the new curvy myou doll girl body that released recently. I am considering getting her body in myou coffee and getting her painted to match, just like my minifee soony x myou hybrid. Hari, though... I'm tempted to either make her an elf and/or an orc. I am just conflicted if I would want to make her a regular elf or a dark elf or an orc... So then the question becomes - what resin color should I get her in? And does it really matter if I could just get her painted to match a body? It's so hard to decide!
I know it’s a bit of a long shot, but is there anyone here who have successfully hybridized a 1/4 NS boy head from Souldoll in terms of resin match and proportions? One of my grail dolls is a Souldoll boy, and I’ve found a head secondhand but he doesn’t have a body; I’m rather picky when it comes to bodies so I’m curious about what’s out there that might work?
@Fractal Other than my Woojin, all my other Souldoll Kids are hybrids. Keigo is a Joelle head on a Fairyland MiniFee body, Shin is a Bonnie on a Dream Valley 51cm body, and Rie is a Gana on a Bimong Narae 41cm Fusion body. Considering the big discontinuation event Souldoll had years ago, you'll probably find a lot of people with hybrids since they allowed you to buy just heads at the time. I will say, I wasn't all that focused on finding bodies that matched in color with them since I just had my faceup artists color match them to their bodies (it costs extra with most artists, but so worth it when you don't want to deal with that portion of hybridding a doll ). So, can't really help you a lot there. Still, here's some comparisons images I have posted on Flickr. Spoiler: Color Comparisons Bonnie head in NS vs. Dream Valley Pink Skin Gana in NS vs. Bimong Classic Normal (just fyi, you'd need to find Bimong bodies secondhand since he's retired from doll making now [other than orders he's still working on from his final preorder a few years ago]). Unfortunately, I don't seem to have any images on hand of what the Fairyland color looked like compared to the head. Px Proportion-wise, I think they all look great on their bodies. I think Keigo is probably the only one that I feel a little iffy about, and that's mostly just because the hands on MNFs are on the small side—the body itself he looks great on! That said, I had to shorten the neck from what it was originally since he had a bad case of giraffe neck. But yeah, as long as you stick to mature minis, you really won't run into many problems finding a body the head will look suitable on. Just be sure to keep an eye on the neck circumference measurements!
This was all really, really helpful I was lowkey dreaming about getting the 45 Fusion male Bimong body for my Souldoll head, but the boy bodies are virtually impossible to find because there are so few of them ToT I was also considering a Doll-Family-A body, which I honestly think kinda looks like the Souldoll body. I figured if I got it in Normal Pink there would be a chance to colormatch/blush the head to fit the body. From experience I know that Gem of Doll's Normal Pink is a really close match to Souldoll NS - I have a Linzy on the Gem Windsor body and she looks amazing with it
I have a few! Soul Doll heads tend to vary in size and shape a bit. What head are you looking at? For my hybrid boys, I'm using these bodies: Soul Doll Kyron on a Doll Family H 1/4 Boy Body Ver.5 (Shao Xia). I like this hybrid a lot. The neck may be a little long. It works for my character though. Pictures of Kyron on the body NSFW Soul Doll Gana on a BonBon Galaxy Lime body. Another good hybrid, but this body isn't currently available. Gana is a girl head though, so it might not work as well depending on the head. Soul Doll SuA on a Coralreef Whale Island 1/4 Boy Body Type A version. Again, not a Soul Doll Kid boy head (SuA is a Vito girl head), but similar in size. This is probably my favorite hybrid. My SuA and Gana heads are out for faceups right now, but I have a Joelle, Charlie, and Kyron head if you want to see any of them on any of the bodies.
I recently purchased an NS Jaxtyn head, and I have actually been looking at that coralreef body as an option. I’m kinda picky about bodies; I prefer them with ‘visible knees’, but I also don’t want him to look too skinny coralreef and bonbon have really skinny limbs, which is why I’m currently leaning the most towards getting him a doll-family-a body (I linked to it in my previous post) do you know if df-a and df-h use the same color palette? I was going to get their normal pink, I think alternatively, do you think a soulkid head could work with a larger body, like this one? Doll Parts, Doll Family - BJD, BJD Doll, Ball Jointed Dolls - Alice's Collections I absolutely love the look of this body, but it’s much bigger than the Souldoll body
Oh congrats! I think that he's about the same size/shape as Singull's dolls and my dolls, so I think that any of our hybrids would work about the same for Jaxtyn. There is an exposed knee version of the Coralreef body. That's actually the version that I have because I prefer the visible knees, too. I added some photos of my Kyron head on the Coralreef body and comparisons of the Coralreef and DFH body to my album. I don't know if DFH and DFA use the same colors. I want to say that they do, but you could probably confirm with Alice Collection or whichever dealer you're going to use just to be 100% sure. I really like that bigger body! Unfortunately, my instincts are telling me it's too big. Just based on the neck size. The Coralreef neck is 6.9 cm and the Shao Xia body neck is 7 cm. eta, I think the DFA body will work great! I've never seen a DFA body in person, but the measurements seem right.
IIRC the two companies parted ways a very long time ago and no longer have anything to do with each other. I don't believe they are using the same casting facilities.
New Hello! Wondering if anybody has a Randor still? Especially on a girl body... I saw one pop up and I'm debating purchasing her, but I haven't been able to find many pictures of the sculpt on a girl body.
New Thank you so much! She was painted by the late Esthy, my favorite artist back in the day. Sadly Esthy is no longer with us but her lovely art work lives on.
New It is very sad and unfortunate when true talents go into the afterlife... It is good that the fruits of their creativity remain with us...
New Thank you very much! I really loved the artist who painted her so when I seen she was for sale I had to get her. I tried a few ways to get her look and I think this is working for her.
