Soom White Mecha Angel Sabik released with jointed fingers!

He sure looks fabulous, all right-- but I'm pondering how the whole peacock-eyeshadow-geisha-prettyboy thing fits in with the whole Mecha Angel cyborg-hunter thing. ^^

Ehh, but then again... why ask why? I like every Sabik they've made so far, he's gorgeous.

Cool. More afordable than that life-size jointed-finger doll I saw, Lol. Are his fingers strung then? That would be some tough work to redo

 

The jointed fingers are really, really cool, but at the same time .. I do NOT like the way they look (as in, seeing the joint mechanism on the inside of the hands all the time). Just a little freaky to me.

 

-gasps- -grabs doll wishlist in order of priority, tears it up, and writes down: Sabik- Wow....You know, I'd seen some pretty nice Sabik's, and he was on my list for a: "If I get a chance to" acquasition, but this boy...i'm in love with him. Time to beg for an early christmas gift...I actually really love the hands- regardless of their having visible joints on the inside. Totally worth it for this boy.

 

I think he's gorgeous. I always thought Sabik was so-so, but I luff this boy...BUT....I really hate his hands. X____X They remind me of a skeleton. They're neat, but they are just too creepy.

 

I must admit, I do love how they've dolled him up for this release, and I'm glad I don't have the money for him now, or I might be tempted by the company faceup.

I'm torn about the hands, it's very neat, but they lose some of the grace in sculpting the original hands have. Hands are a big deal for me, I cannot stand graceless hands. And the relative size of the palm to the size of the fingers just seems a little off.

On the other hand, it's nice to see the hands listed separately as well for those desiring them.

I agree about the hands though. They remind me of a skeleton...

 

After seeing unidolls jointed hands, these ones look odd too me.. xD maybe its that the fingers seem more rounded. I still love the poses they can do.

Ive gradually been becoming more and more a of Sabik fan xD this boy is just too amazing. i just love his face structure.

 

He looks even more like he's stepped out of Labyrinth.

 

I guess there's just no way to have moveable fingers and avoid that Jack Skellington look -- at least until some adventurous soul in the hobby starts making latex-like gloves in shades to match the most common resin colors....

 

Now if they offer those jointed hands as optional parts in NS then I can get me a pair for my boy... >_>;

[edit] Okay, I went to the site and saw the message. It IS offer in NS and as optional part! *_______* I got this impression that it wasn't from the subject of this thread and that only WS Sabik came with the jointed hands.

I've started liking Sabik more and more recently...I didn't like him when he was first released, but I do like him more than the other 70 cm masculine guys out there..

I hope they'll make these hands in the 60 cm size eventually, I'd love to have them when I eventually order my Romantic Dimo! T-T

omg now i am torn between Vega and Sabik!!! all together they cost quite a bit ahhhh! I saved the full amount for Vega and even sold of my other dolls. but i am just dying over Sabik's clothing and his awesome beautiful make up. and I have been looking for white skin tone, and he seriously does remind me of Ryuuki! i have always loved the design of Ryuuki and his brother. I totally love sci fi and GEISHAS!! why they have to make it so hard for me? I like Vega's body sculpt better though. i dunno i dunno, someone help me out before i have to make the decision to pay soon!

Anyways, concerning Vega and Sabik, why not have them both? ;D They're sold monthly for five days during the 15th-19th so they're not limited in quantity. You can save up or ask a layaway for the other one. However, the outfit is limited, so if you really want the outfit, you should probably buy that first. Well, it's possible to get both dolls but it might take awhile. I dont think there are reasons you should be torn....^^

For the body, it's not really the best body to pose/play with. Well for me, the Sabik body took awhile to adjust. He has floppy arms and weak ankles which makes handling him kind of frustrating at time (especially at that size). But his faceup is so beautiful and that kind of makes up for what he lacks. XD; I'll assume that the female body will probably have similar problems like the male body, judging from the joints on her knees, feet and arms. but that's just personal opinion

 

That's an amazing outfit...Alas, if only I had a job! I've heard some other people complaine about posing it too, but they also figure the beauty totally makes up for it. After all, no one's perfect, right? Teeheehee...

 

Well, I am interested in Sabik chinese emporer style as a whole, but not as an individual doll without the clothes and such. I don't think his body proportions is what I like anyway. but vega on the other hand, I like as a doll, and character design though i love geishas/anime characters a lot. I have been planning to get a yuh yo tenshi before vega came out, and i have been wanting her for a while. now i am wondering if I should cancel my order for vega, because she isn't limited anymore. if she were then i would be forced to buy her early. yuh is a tiny, vega would be my biggest doll if i were to get her. ultimately i think i would get both, just which one do i get first? ugh but sabik is sooo tempting! but if they came out with vega in white skin i would end up hating myself for not waiting! anyone have any suggestions??

Anyway, to me the look of the hands is just typical BJD, just like the whole of the body. I am sure after a while I will not really *see* those joints anymore and it will be a part of BJD esthetics to me...^^ I guess I will blush the hands and give them a manicure anyway...

Duuude. Shades of Spock is what makes those merciless eyebrows such a pair of pantymelters. GotDAMN them's some good eyebrows. Wow, I never thought Mr Badass would femme-up so nicely, with his razorblade cheekbones & Jamie Lee Curtis smirk... but these new pictures, ai yai yai! He is really something.

I haven't bought one of these leggy beauties (a) primarily for space-constraints, and (b) because Soom keeps releasing so many gorgeous Sabiks, one after the other, and I like them all... I'd be unable to choose just one. I'd want to have a whole army!

The one time I met somebody's jointed-hand Sabik before (Cyborg), his thumb popped out of its socket constantly & the whole hand fell off no less than three times without me touching it. It was held onto the wrist by a flimsy elastic instead of a hook. It will probably want tightening & restringing. Waa, if I had to string TWO of those hands, and suede them, I'd be in the loonybin. But I bet you detail-oriented types out there can do it. ^^ Yeah, the Skeleton look can't be avoided if you want movable fingers... unless... unless somebody invented silicone joint-covers that stretch as the doll moves... *la la la*

Kalani: It might look kind of big on a 67cm doll...given Sabik's 80cm, there is 13cm difference and that might show. I dunno for sure tho. Maybe you should ask on the board? :-/

I didn't realize the height difference right away. I wish SOOM put their doll stats on the page with the doll itself like LUTS does.

I don't think I've ever wanted a doll so badly before right after seeing him though. It makes me slightly happy I waited so long to get one though, because, this one is definitely IT. I cannot wait until I have enough saved up to purchase him.

I absolutely MUST restring my SOOM Sabik Mecha Angel. I’ve had him for about 10years(+) but i have no idea what gauge elastic and length he takes… any assistance please ♥️

 

I don’t have a mecha Angel boy, but I have a mecha Angel girl. I couldn’t tell you how long her elastic is, but it’s 4-5mm elastic for sure, not bigger than my other SD’s, so I assume the MA boys would use the same size elastic, but I don’t know that for sure.
