Soom Waiting Room V6

Ordered my first Soom a few weeks ago during the free choice event and settling into the wait. I have a question for anyone who's been down this path before though, if you get a head and a body during a free choice event that don't traditionally go together (both MSD but different sculpts) do they typically come strung or in pieces?

 

Congrats! As for your question, they always come strung, unless you’re getting an x-mas kit. Though the fantasy pieces may not be on, if you get one with fantasy pieces, because they wouldn’t be able to fit in their pillow that way.

 

Fantastic! I got the Roxen head (she's been my grail doll since the beginning, but I got into the hobby too late) and the Adamelli body (I have a weakness for hooves) so I don't think there should be a problem with compatibility or shipping. I can always put on any additional pieces myself.

No there won’t be an issue. All little gems have the same body. The only difference are the fantasy parts. :3 Glad you’ve gotten your hands on your grail!

@Riku LIN : I was wondering if anyone else was going to order a Gray Heliot! I don't see much discussion on him... I didn't know if many people would pass. Glad to see there will be another on the boards!

 

Finally, Soom confirmed my order yesterday for Zak which I got someone to help me order during last month's doll event in Shanghai. My first layaway hell but so happy since I missed him early last year

 

Dybbuk, I waited until the last moment for a response from SOoM about Pale Violet skintone for Heliot. I have 7 full Heliots, 2 of them it's a Heliot MD WS, so because of that I choose in gray skintone. He will be mine dark unicorn

 

Paid off my Garam! Now the real wait begins.

 

@Riku LIN : I can't wait to see him. Maybe SOOM will one day do Heliot in pale Violet. They seem to like re-releasing him a lot!

@Dybbuk I got pretty much everything, minus faceup and blushing. I'll be deciding how I want to style him once he comes in. I'm pretty excited, especially after seeing him blank on Instagram.

 

@CourtneyC That sounds so exciting! I haven't seen any Garam anywhere (forgot to search in Instagram) and so I'm excited to see one on the boards. I love his sculpt, he looks a lot different than the typical SOOM faces.

 

Ah!!! My Rudy shipped yesterday!
I’ve been checking my inbox hoping for the email, but I decided to check my order on Soom’s website just in case and saw that he shipped!
I double checked my email and for some reason the shipping notice went to my spam but at least I was able to catch it! I’m still not home for another week, so I need to give my family members a heads up to keep an eye out for the package.
I’m so excited to get home now! * u*

realize i never added my order! my friend and i doubled up and each got a Petit Soom Rudy (mine in GS, her's in CW)
i'm psyched to see people got their shipping notices for them so quickly, here's hoping ours ship soon too

 

I'm shocked and so excited!! My Sabik was shipped on the 11th but sadly is stuck in customs before being handed over to the fumble hands of Canada post I can't believe how fast he shipped, I'm already drooling

 

My tracking hasn’t updated since the 11th...I’m getting a little concerned ; -; Expected delivery date is tomorrow, so hopefully it will update later today or by then! (And I’ll be back home Wednesday night!)

 

I never got a shipping noticed (not even in spam) but I saw on the website it was shipped and snagged the tracking number. Mine has been stuck in customs as well since the 12th. I must have checked 40 times today for an update since it was Monday.

 

Tracking updated to Out for Delivery this morning!
(Also I forgot the mail didn’t run yesterday, so of course I didn’t get any updates haha)
Ahhhh I can’t wait to get home tomorrow!

@Sam-I-Am You're in the homestretch now :-) I just checked my tracking again and it still shows that they are reviewing it in customs. I sure hope nothing is wrong

The hardest part of this hobby for me is the dreaded wait.

My Sard arrived yesterday! I had a really really busy day and barely had any time for him so I didn't do a proper box

I really like the newer body a lot more than the old, except that there's no mobility joint option for the thigh. The legs don't bend at the knee in a backwards way like the old body, but he still doesn't stand the greatest. I guess some people wire their legs for
helping with that? At least he sits well though! Unlike some Soom dolls I've had that just want to flop over xD

Where do you order Soom dolls? The website I saw was horribly outdated and everything was sold out...

The thing is that nearly all dolls (they used to have steady sellers but sadly scrapped this idea) are limited and only available for a few weeks!

I'm also still waiting for my blank Handol! Paid him off at the beginning of January so it might still be a while until he is home.

Since Soom has rereleased nearly every doll they ever sold, its just a matter of time till the doll you want gets on sale again Just check the page every two weeks.

 

I was getting antsy so I wrote Soom, and my Sard will be shipped today!

My Sard arrived! Unfortunately I don't think he's going to work out for me... the Tawny color isn't what I was hoping for. I'm going to try and enjoy him anyway, perhaps he'll grow on me. There is this tiny part of me that wants to dye him, but I'm not sure I have the energy for that anytime soon.

The body is super gorgeous, though!! The shoulders are nice and wide which I LOVE. The legs are strung separately and they're so loose they're falling out of his hip sockets though, lol. So I might restring him because he doesn't stand very well. XD; Otherwise the quality is good. I know Soom can be inconsistent, but I looked him over and didn't see any flaws or terrible seam lines or anything.

I hope y'all get your other Sards soon!

 

Sad that he’s not the color you were hoping for. :/ I wish they would offer brown tan, like they used to. In my opinion, it’s way better than tawny or bronze. But I’m sure he’s gorgeous! I hope you can learn to love him. Also, I’m glad that the quality is good! That’s something I’ve been worried about, with how Soom has been the past few years. Though my newer Little Gem is great quality, it was the bigger dolls I was more worried about. xD

@overlordu Yeah mine's legs are similar, let me know if you find any method that really helps that I do love this body more than the old ones though for how well he's sculpted..it's just gorgeous!!

what's soom's order update process? is "before shipping" any closer to being shipped? it's kind of weird, it's like they sent out all the rudy orders but mine :/

 

Before shipping is once you’ve paid it off and on shipping is when it ships.

Also, Angela and I have been waiting impatiently for our Sard’s. They were supposed to come today. Tracking hasn’t updated and the last it gave us, was them going into customs on the 8th. It’s pretty annoying... Here’s hoping tomorrow. But with tracking no changing, I kind of doubt it. :/

 

well darn i am getting a little concerned, though, every other order for rudy was shipped weeks ago except for mine. would it hurt to contact to soom and see what's going on?

do you know what customs facility they went to? o: just in my experience, new york's takes a LOT longer than chicago's, i had a body stuck there for nearly three weeks one time! ....which is a weird sentence to say out of context LOL

 

I think it should be fine to contact Soom! Especially because it seems like everyone else’s Rudy’s have shipped already.

Also, our Sard’s finally arrived yesterday, haha! And they were stuck in Los Angeles’ customs, for some reason, but finally updated on Wednesday. xD Don’t you just love talking about bodies and heads in the mail? xD

Also, about New York customs...yeah, I've had a package from TaTa stuck there since Feb 2nd now. It's great.

 

Got the shipping notice on my Roxen the day before yesterday!

And to add to the gripes about New York customs, I had a doll stuck there from Feb 6th- Feb 28th, so I can well sympathize. He just arrived home today, so it looks like things might be moving again. Good luck, and I hope your dolls get there soon!

Congrats on shipping notices and orders! Angela_Valentine and I just paid off our layaway for the Little Gem Free Choice, two days ago. So now we're just waiting.

And I've been in a big slump for a while, so I never posted any pictures of my Sard. Unfortunately, I had to do a bunch of work on his hooves because Soom doesn't know how to seal their blushing anymore, apparently. I still haven't finished them because of the slump, but I did take a picture of him, at least. xD; Here's Adrian Belial Silverlance. Son of Lord Hades Silverlance.

It's not new. I've had to touch up my Beryl's (Neverending Dream) hooves for years.

 

I know they scratch, but back in the day, it used to be sealed a LOT better.

 

@YukiOokami : I'm sorry to hear the paint job isn't keeping up. But my oh my your boy is super handsome! O_O Love the crystal clear horns against the white wig. Beautiful!
