Soom Waiting Room V6

I ordered a gray Rudy today with everything (face up, eyes, blushing, outfit). I also bought another outfit for my brown Rudy to wear. I think it will be super adorable to have twins with matching outfits just in different colors. It was a hard decision but I eventually hit the button. I love my original Rudy so much and I was fortunate to get one from a user here after I missed out on her. I didn’t want to regret my choice again!

 

Made my final layway payment on my Midsummer Nights Dream Sard today!!

I made my final Sard payment earlier this week, but still haven't received my usual note from Soom that the payment was made...I may have to write to them since it still doesn't show that I've paid, but I've received my paypal notification etc :/

 

You actually get confirmations from them?! I have never gotten a single one other than when I had won one of their lottery dolls. Other than that, I have to log in and check everything myself.

 

@ShinigamiDuoLover Usually I get an e-mail saying that the payment has processed. I did for all the other layaway payments, but
not this one..of course the most important one, the last one haha.

 

I always get a little note about a chance to the account when they process the payments too, typically within a day or two. It did take a few days once though.

 

This morning I had a mail waiting for me… My grail doll has been shipped ! *__*
So much feelings, I'm so happy. I can't wait !

 

I'm kicking myself still for not getting in on Sard but I can't wait for the flood of pictures when everyone starts getting him in

 

Update!! Soom just marked my order as in transit yesterday! Let the countdown for it's arrival begin! I might just get him in time for Christmas after all!

 

I just got an SMS from the Post office saying there is a package for me there from SOOM. So I guess my SARD was shipped out without getting an notification about it.
I will go get him now, but open him tonight because work first.

For your information, he was ordered in NS, human with one sard head with faceup, and he was payed in full.

I closed my Sard's layaway today

 

HE ARRIVED!! He looks INCREDIBLE! But he seems REALLY tightly strung on his lower legs Like, to the point where the slightest little touch causes him to KICK so hard his feet nearly go flying. He's really tight in the neck, but somehow really loose in the hips though, so I'm not entirely sure where the exact issue is. Something doesn't seem right though, because i can't even pose him like this. He flat out CRUMPLES under every little touch. He's my first BJD, so I don't have enough experience with it to say, but this just doesn't seem normal? I feel like he should be able to hold a minor pose at the very least. I see other people with the fantasy Soom SDs and they all pose so nicely. Any advice on it?

It seems that your doll was strung too tight ? I guess, I'm much of a newbie too, so. x)
I'd try to restring it if I was you.

Sometimes the knots in the elastic have been caught up in the channel so I would check that and also play with the doll moving the joints arround and it may losen up some. Good luck

 

I asked Soom about doing Garion Dokkebi again, they may, just not in red. But they didn't have him planned yet. Does anyone know if Soom has ever done an Idealian free choice event?

 

They have done an Idealian Free Choice. It's Idealian/Mega Gem free choice. That's how I got my NS Photon. Though I don't know if they would include the Garion. They may, though!

Yeah!!!! I got a nice surprise early this morning! my boy arrived!

 

Anyone order from the Little Gem FCE. I ordered a Yuki Head with a Dain body with face up in Tawny on Layaway.

 

My FCE Crow FINALLY shipped! Geebus. Only ordered him blank at the beginning of July. This is the longest I've ever had to wait for a Soom doll before, especially one that was blank. Actually kind of not happy about it. But whatever. He's finally shipped and coming home!

@YukiOokami: I have no idea. At first I thought that maybe they were waiting to do a Tawny batch. But then I thought maybe it is because he comes with the semi transparent black wings. Maybe that was it? But seeing someone getting their blank doll after only three months while I had to wait six months, and I'm pretty sure they had more parts than me. Doesn't make sense and annoys me, but it is what it is. Just happy to finally be getting him home, and especially before the holiday rush.

 

Man, with Soom, who knows anymore? Lol That irks me, too, because that’s just so odd.

 

That is weird @ShinigamiDuoLover I know when I got my last Soom doll, I paid him off on his layaway a few days
early and he shipped a week or less later. This time they said it'd be 60-90 days still, but I saw someone else who
just paid their's off got a notice already so it seems like they are all over the place so I have no idea when to expect my
Sard lol. Congrats on your boy shipping though!

 

That is legit usually my experience! Usually when paying off a layaway, it typically ships 2-3 weeks later. I'd even seen layaway orders that had more options than my PIF order ship out before mine, back when I could still afford PIF orders, lol. They're usually all over the place when it comes to shipping out orders, but this is a bit ridiculous.

Also, if you would like an estimate on when your order will ship, you could always ask them in the Q&A. I did around mid November I think and that was when they told me it would ship in December. Also, congrats on the Sard! I was trying to sell my NS one from that batch of 8 they did years ago just in an attempt to be able to get a new NS one with both heads. I really just wanted that tongue head, but I couldn't get mine to sell. Hoping I can snag one somewhere at some point.

 

My Sard shipped today!! for anyone keeping track, I'd ordered him on August 27th and made my last layaway payment on November 16th. That's two of us from the wait list now so they must be working through the Sard orders!

To be honest I'm having second thoughts about him. I had a Dia boy that I loved a lot and I'm just not sure I'll like Sard as much. Their faces are 99% the same but Sard's ears are so big! I'm also not sure I will like the Tawny resin... I'm hoping it reads as a tan color in person, as opposed to the dark "normal" tone it looks like in some owner photos. I just want him to get here so I can stop wondering. @____@

Does anyone know how consistent Tawny resin is between batches? I may end up wanting to buy a Dia head but what if it doesn't match! T_T

Tawny is a really nice pale tan, and not a dark normal skin I've bought a christmas kit Wolf in tawny at the end of 2015, and he is the exact same shade as my Dia that I go in November 2016.

And if you don't like Sards ears, you could always get the modded off?

XD It's true that I could mod his ears- he will have long hair so even if it looks like garbage, they'll be covered. Haha! Anyway, thanks for the reassuring words, and your dolls are gorgeous!

I just got my FCE Crow in Tawny and I was shocked by how not tan he actually looks. He almost looks NS. I have to get a side by side with him with my NS Sard, but needless to say I'm a bit disappointed in the color. I really had plans for his character to be tan and he just doesn't look it.

 

The tracking for my Sard says he was delivered to the rental office at my apartment complex so I should be able to open him tomorrow after work! I'm so excited!

I was wondering as anyone ever asked Soom if they could change the skin color of thier doll after they ordered it?

Does anyone know how much longer a doll with face up and blushing takes? I'll be away from home for two weeks in early January, i don't want to miss the arrival of my Rudy! ; _;

 

Honestly it could arrive any time I'd ask a trusted neighbor to hold onto your package for you when it arrives!

 

Oh I have family members that will be at home, so the package should be fine! I just worry that something might be wrong with the doll and I’ll miss the one week window to report it to Soom. ; O;
I imagine it will be fine, but I always worry about things ahhhh;;
Maybe I’ll get lucky and it will arrive before I leave * ^*

Waiting for Soom Heliot X-mas Kit in cw.

 

@strawberryfrog : Congrats, I also purchased an X-Mas kit. Forgive my newbie question (I don't think I've ever ordered directly from SOOM), but the difference in the X-Mas kits and assembled doll is simply a matter of assembly correct? I know some companies sell kits where the doll hasn't been sanded and polished yet, but I should not expect that from Soom?

I just ordered a Lordstar Heliot in Gray to match my Gray Dream Ripper Heliot. >_<;;;; What have I done...lol

 

I think the dolls are sanded, just not assembled. I've never ordered an X-Mas kit from them either, but I may. Yeah, my understanding is that they don't come with the standard pillows and are not assembled, which I'm fine with. They also don't offer face up or blushing options.

 

My Wolf x-mas kit came sanded He just wasn't assembled. The box is also waaaay smller, and I was llucky and he went straight trough customs.

 

@ShinigamiDuoLover and @meanae : Thank you both so much! I was fairly sure that was the case, but I didn't see any specific notation on the sales page itself so I was curious. I just loved the price of him!! Wish they would offer kits with every release, but I imagine it's just a special thing they do now and then.

I have never been a huge fan of SOOM but lately I can't help but comb through all their pages and seeing all their creations... =_=;

 

@Dybbuk : Soom X-mas kit is just not assembled. Everything else is like a normal doll.
Ya having a dream ripper heliot. OMG. I wanted him so much, but didn't had the money back than.

 

@strawberryfrog : I would imagine they are probably going to release the Vampire Heliot again at some point. I notice Heliot is one of their most re-released limited dolls and they seem to like doing different sets with him. Maybe in the future you can get him!
