Soom Waiting Room V6

Hello y'all! Happy to join the waiting list - I made my first Soom order and this is probably the doll I'm most excited for out of the three others I have on order, the Andes & Tona Lampyridae fullset! I couldn't resist a little bug cutie

 

I got a notification yesterday that my Volo - The Draco has shipped!

 

Huge congrats Just out of curiosity, did you order them via layaway? Just trying to see how behind or on time Soom are atm

 

No, I paid in full. I can't say how they are doing in terms of layaway orders recently as I'm able to pay my orders in full. But their wait times have been good for me. My last couple of orders have been pretty quick.

This fullset Volo took about 5 months. Order placed 04/16, shipped 09/13.
My BR Ray with full blushing took about 4 months. Order placed 03/26, arrived 07/08.
My LV Roxen with face up was about 4 months. Order placed 12/10/23, arrived 03/06/24.
My Rose Pink Shale with face was pretty fast, almost 3.5 months. Ordered 10/27/23, arrived 02/13/24.

The last layaway I did with them was for my blank TW Raphie. Ordered placed 07/12/23, layaway finished 10/12/23, arrived 12/28/23. So that was around a total of 6 months, with it shipping out 2 months after the layway was finished.

 

Thanks for that info I paid mine in full too. Andes/Tona with faceup, no fantasy parts. will be 3 month tomorrow, so 1 month to go I guess? Which is fine. I'm not ready for her yet anyway xD I need to finish her wig and find some eyes for her xD

 

Might wanna speed up your acquisition because I just got my shipping notice for my PIF Andes/Tona (no faceup, w/ fantasy parts)

 

oh my gosh! yay! congrats! Have you ever seen/owned andes/tona before? I use to own a deertaur tona, and that face is SO much cuter in person! After selling my deertaur I've been waiting for another chance to own that face! But this is great! Hopefully mine isn't too far behind And you are right, I better kick myself into action and find some eyes and finish her wig xD

 

First time. I had no interest in the centaur/deertaur/etc bodies and was not super into how they styled the original release. It was owner photos that changed my mind about the sculpt and the return of green resin that got me this time

 

Feel like I should share here too - waiting for my Soom Hugh! Very excited, love him. I also ordered the full set. I'm doing layaway, so it will plenty of time to build anticipation or go mad lol.

 

So I loved the centaur bodies (so pretty/cute), I had a smokie too... but I just found them so awkward to pose with other dolls and kind of linear, so I reluctantly sold them :< I will get a centaurless smokie 1 day, and I'm just excited to finally replace Tona/Andes because I miss that little face!!!! I was planning on shelling a character with a different doll (it needs to be green) so when they green andes/tona was released I just saw it as killin to birds with 1 stone ^.^ I'm VERY excited!

Congrats on your order ^^ Fullsets are always nice no extra shopping or crafting that 'must' be done! and I think madness is what you should expect lol

 

Hi guys!! I just saw soom’s website, and saw that they are going to release one of my awaited grail !!!! Hyperon I’m soooo excited and can’t wait!! Hopefully I will join you here!!!

 

After a couple years of waiting for R. Hyperon to return, I am so excited to have made my first Idealian purchase! The wait is going to be excruciating, lol!

But! I got my shipping notice!!! My green Tona/Andes is on her way home! and I've not finished her wig yet xD I'm a bad person xD

 

I just got notification that my Soom Petit Gem Rudy just shipped! Almost a 6 month wait, but it was full set (you can't choose, it's full set only) with two pairs of resin eyes, two pairs of horns, an outfit, hair piece and face up by R. Dean. Probably paid more than I wanted to for such a teeny doll, but I think it'll be worth it.

Apparently my doll will arrive today... will see if i get a doll or a ransom note for a doll... would b pretty sweet if she has snuck thru customs though ^.^

I'm so mad right now. I paid so much for this doll and soom glued the magnets the wrong way on the ears. I had this issue before and the freezer method didn't work. We had to dig into the resin and get the magnet out damaging the doll significantly. I'll still try the freezer method, but if it doesn't work, I just don't know what I'm going to do.

edit: looks like the freezer trick worked and I didn't even need to put them in that long as Soom replied an hour later to ask for photos of the effected parts. Once I took them out of the freezer, the magnets popped out, so I'm able to glue them back in correctly.

 

Earlier than I expected, I got my shipping notification for my R. Hyperon last night!

He has arrived, I finally have my R. Hyperon! He's so gorgeous Will probably post pics tomorrow in better light!

Back with some pics! It was a TASK and a HALF to get him dressed to try on his outfit. He will definitely need to be restrung and probably sueded. To be dealt with on a later date! Natural light has not been kind enough the past few days to show his beauty, so these are the best photos I could take lol!

Thank you! The clothes could be what's pushing the manufacturing period a bit longer, hopefully it won't be too long though.

I had never had jointed hands before, I couldn't help myself this time and treated myself a bit

 

I have 2 Idealians. The first was secondhand (Narmer) and came with jointed hands. When I bought Hyun, I was advised that the colors from one casting to another are not stable so always buy the jointed hands with the doll because later they may not match. So I ordered them with Hyun. It was great advice because both my dolls are tawny and completely different colors from each other!

 

I’m really curious about the jointed hands, Does it come assembled? I saw a video about 5 years ago of unboxing a soom doll and the jointed hands were not assembled ?

 

They do! I'm not sure when they started doing that though. Unless otherwise stated, I believe they are now assembled by default.

Hi guys, my R hyperon finally shipped! Yesterday, I randomly checked their website ! Its stranged because I didn’t got any notifications or email?

 

Yay, congrats! Hope he arrives soon for you Maybe you'll receive an email very soon with the tracking, especially if they just shipped him out and he's not yet moving through the system.

 

I don't think I've ever actually gotten a shipping notice email? I can't find any in my inbox, and R. Hyperon is my second ID boy. I remember being surprised when Garion had shipped because I found out when I went to check the site, too.

That said, congrats! My boy is still in "preparing for shipment" which I'm assuming means "this doll is fully paid for but not finished yet" based on how long it's said that, haha.

 

I got the shipping notice for my Storm. I ordered him March 12th, just a few days shy of three months. It's funny because I'd just checked my order yesterday to see it's status, and then checked this thread to see what the general wait times were. So, this is a cool surprise.
