My Dia made it home today with no warning! According to EMS tracking, he is still awaiting customs clearance in Korea.

He is absolutely stunning, I'm in love!

 

And the Amber came today. I did a little check to make sure nothing was broken, but otherwise, I will do a full unboxing later. Thanks, work.
Tracking still said that it was still in Korea as well. We were kind of shocked when the UPS guy had a differently shaped box than what we usually get at work.

I was looking at the EMS tracking for so long it was not updating but i know he left Korea and out of nowhere he was with UPS delivery car!! Like he isn't even on their tracking system
Very impressed by soom not taking more then 3 months to finish him
DO I need to tell soom that i have him so they can change the status or it doesn't matter?

 

Hopefully UPS will let them know it was delivered.

 

Soom is ready to ship my Humpty Dumpty, I told them it was safe to ship to my home, hope he gets here really soon!

Hello, I am joining the waiting room because of Little Gem Lux & Volo. I got the girl version (...Volo? I'm guessing from the outfit name...) in tawny skin with the blossom body and both heads. I also included a wig and silicone eyes. So...that happened. Not sure what style I want for her but I guess I'll have a couple months to figure that out.

 

I just received my Humpty Dumpty this week! He's super adorable and wait time is good. I will be back here should I find another doll I like. :B

 

@Kiotaro your rato is very cute. Would be interested in seeing him in the nendoroid stuff.
I got mine (havent had chance to paint still) but was trying to decide what clothes to get him... Also if i want to make him a wig or not...

I also got my petit gem free choice and i accidently glued magnets in wrong on the headback so now i haven't touched it since... I was so mad upset with myself cuz i thought i double checked it multiple times an still messed up and maybe ruined it

I'll send you a dm once one of his nendoroid outfits actually arrive as well, but the patterns I used from the nendoroid sewing book worked perfectly, my skills are just lacking so I'm a bit embarrassed to show it off... Also still debating on making him a wig myself lol.

As for the magnets, if you used super glue try freezing the parts first and see if you can pull it out with another magnet that way, if that doesn't work, very carefully use acetone, that'll weaken the glue and it'll eventually come out, just make sure to give the part a good scrub between attempts so it doesn't hurt the resin. I ended up gluing in two of the magnets in backwards myself and these things helped me fix that mistake!

I did try the freezing tip... Not sure how long to freeze. I tied few times and left in for few hours. They are very very snug so i don't know if anything can get to the glue....

 

Maybe give it a full 24 hours, as for the snugness I thought so too, but the acetone ended up able to get between the resin and the magnet all the same. Don't give up hope, keep at it slow and steady and it'll come out soon enough.

 

Waiting for my first doll from Soom! So exited! It is Soom Afi, hope I will find Ai soon too, so sisters will be together

Made the second layaway payment. One more next month and I'm done. I got a faceup on her default head, but not on the fantasy romance version, so I get both a doll ready to be played with and a chance for customization.

 

Oh! I just got the shipping notice for my Shoshon ordered on 9/19. How exciting. Too bad the tracking hasn't updated yet!

 

Just got a shipping notice for the TG Aloa & Sov centaur I ordered from their Online Autumn Event on 23 Oct 2021, so that's around 2 and a half months for me. The tracking number doesn't work yet though...

 

And my tracking number is being really weird! The EMS Korea site (and 17Track) claims my package has arrived in Hong Kong but the date it shows is 13 Jan 2022 which is tomorrow.... Hong Kong and Korea only have a timezone difference of one hour, so I'm pretty sure it's still 12 Jan over there.

(Also my package doesn't seem to have entered the Hong Kong postal system yet as the tracking number doesn't work on the HK post site. Plus I usually get text messages about incoming EMS packages and I haven't received one for this package yet.)

It also says the package departed from Korea on 12 Jan 2022 at 19:35 (7:35 pm) when it's currently 12 Jan 2022, 16:45 (4:45 pm) in Korea?? Why is it showing me future times and dates??

Still don't know why the tracking was so weird... Hong Kong post and Korea post are still giving me different times and dates for when my package left Korea and arrived in Hong Kong. (Can't help but wonder if someone in Korea post just made up some times or something...) I ended up getting a text from HK post on 12 Jan at around 11 pm that my package was ready to leave Korea, then a text on 13 Jan at also around 11 pm that my package has arrived in Hong Kong.

Well, it's arrived safely so that's all that matters, I guess.

 

@namika Glad to hear the package arrived safely after all. I've seen some funky tracking shenanigans but entries from the future haven't been among them (...yet)! Will you be posting pictures?
I still have another layaway payment next month for my Lux&Volo girl, but I have two other dolls coming from China and I'm anxiously checking the tracking, hoping they make it out before the Chinese new year...

 

It was a very weird and almost surreal experience...! (I was worried for a bit that my package might have been stolen and that someone was putting up fake tracking info for it.... orz)

Photos will have to wait till after I string him. My centaur came partly unstrung as they couldn't fit his horse body inside the zippered cushion bag Soom sends their dolls in. Only the top half of his body was inside the bag, the rest was disassembled with each piece wrapped individually in bubblewrap and placed outside the bag.

Bit nervous about it as I've never strung a non-human doll body before and they did not include instructions...

And I hope your dolls make it out before Chinese New Year!

 

Hiii, is anyone here waiting for their Soom River? I saw a few owners receiving their Rivers over the past month, but I have yet to receive a shipping notice from mine. Wondering if anyone in the same boat…

I just ordered two Nappychoos! I picked Marc and Dalang. I can't wait to meet them!

I didn't order the NappyChoo eyes because they seemed kind of pricey and the colors weren't what I was looking for. I can use regular eyes, right?

 

Just to round up that query I had befored: My River finally arrived 8 Feb !

 

i put a Tawny B. Zak on layaway during the 2021 ID75 Free Choice event and JUST paid it all off! never ordered a soom direct from the company before so i'm just like "now what?" and also "WHERE HE "

 

Just chiming in to ask if your River already made it home to you? Mine has been in "preparing for shipment" status ever since I paid him off in late January ;_; Since I never ordered an Idealian from Soom directly, I'm not sure how long of a wait I'm in tbh >.>

eunni mentioned just before my previous post here that their River arrived to them 8 Feb

according to the Soom FAQ, in the case of layaways, they put dolls into production once first payment has been confirmed. so you may want to poke Soom about your shipping notice since quite a bunch of Rivers have shipped/made it home by now.

I messeaged Soom to kindly ask for an update in that case. I'm thinking my wait could be longer since I chose the faceup option but we'll see, just hoping everything's alright~

It’s been around 30 days or so since my layaway payoff
I seem to remember them saying it can take 60-90 days to send the doll after final payment.

 

Been waiting for this moment all month... Just put the first layaway payment for the Pied Piper Pa-an. Was hoping the other colour would be a darker, but the white works just as fine, and considering it's Easter themed, well. The transparent horns and black hooves are an amazing touch this time.

I went with Peony white too, with the white/green horns and black hooves. I was hoping the other colour would be a bit darker since I already decided I wanted my Pa-an to be a witch (but like, in the way someone is just way to into Halloween) so the white works much better for that.

I got my doll today. I gotta say, she looks pretty much exactly like the pictures, makeup and all. I also like the silicone and resin eyes I got with her. Looking forward to doing her her fantasy head faceup.

 

Officially joining the waiting room~ I purchased the Soom Zak that was just released in Powder Blue, he will be my first doll from them ^^ Hoping to get my hands on Hyperon next (but not too soon, need my wallet to recover TT)

Ahaha yep! I recently dyed another big boy blue, so I’m telling myself that he would feel neglected if I get another big blue man. Honestly, that’s the best thing about the new peony white—you can dye it almost any colour, so I’ll have an eye on what sculpts they put out in that if I don’t see anyone smaller in powder blue…

 

So it’s day 100 since the FCE opened and I ordered my Hyperon. I know of a few others who ordered in the FCE or the previous period for River haven’t had any notice either.

I know Covid has been on the rise in South Korea again…I hope they’re doing ok.

 

after a failed attempt at a delivery and failed redelivery attempt, I got my jointed hands.

I think the joints are better than Doll Family H hands, they don't seem to wobble into going the wrong direction as easily.

But oh my god getting the tension just right for hands is hard. x_x

I was super tempted by that blue myself but I can't risk the wait when I'm going to move in a few months....I'm already getting really antsy from the last Free Choice event. Has anyone gotten theirs yet? My 100 day mark should be April 8th.

 

So far the only one know I know of is the tawny Hyperon already up in the MP. And I have been looking for arrivals or geek outs about shipping.

Thank you!! I don’t mind at all. I paid in full on December 27 so it’s been around the usual estimated 100 days for production, give or take! I think Soom starts the doll right away, not just when you’re done your layaway.

I just put my first new Soom on Layaway, I couldn't resist the Heliot re-release. That big unicorn has been a grail of mine for so long, probably since I've been in the hobby, but I couldn't justify his secondhand prices to myself... So I was thrilled to see him available like this. Now to buckle down for the wait.

+1 Heliot for me. It took thirteen years, but finally I will have him with all the features I want. In grey skin, no less.

Never before have I been able to afford a new Soom release, even on layaway. All of my Gems are secondhand. This feels like an appropriate introduction.
