It's been speculated that he might've been a cancelled layaway or something? No clue how else he could've shipped this quickly. Soom, you spoil me. Hope you get your clothes soon, it's always sad to have a naked doll just kind of hanging around waiting for them.

Cream White! And he's an absolute behemoth. I knew I was in trouble the moment I got his jeans in and laid them out, but seeing him next to my 68cm guy--who I previously thought was enormous--was an experience. Go big or go home, right?

 

I’ve been telling myself it’s maybe because I bought the whole set?(doll, hands, wig, horns). Or maybe grey skin dolls were made last? Idk. Because I didn’t layaway my Ender. Your guy being a possible canceled layaway is a fair assumption.

Even so it’s great to see yours arrive so quickly. I really wanted to see him in the white.

That was another speculation in the server I'm in, too. Special color plus special parts might mean a longer wait, whereas aside from choosing the SP head, mine was a very basic order. Still crazy though, hot damn Soom.

 

Just started a layaway for a Rato too! I got it in the grey skin though with no eyes and both heads. I want grey eyes but they don't have any in 10mm on the site that I like : p

 

@Kiotaro congratulations! We can wait together! It seems there aren’t many Rato orders, which is sad. My little guy has already told me his name, Piccolo. He’s best buds with my Soom puss in boots Pascal.

 

I haven't decided what to name my tiny rat but I already have plans to make him a wig and outfit. Tiny head, tiny body, everything needs to be custom made.

 

I wonder if Soom will ever let go of my wallet... I ordered yet another Idealian and have Tei on layaway.

 

I took a giant leap and ordered Tei in bronze. He will be my first bjd by Soom. I can’t wait to get him!

 

I just saw the new Mermaid and grabbed the Fullset in Blue... My wallet cries. I have too many dolls on layaway!

Hey guys I ordered a peony white komat/ior back on april 10th and paid in full. They only offered her blank. What is the wait time for soom these days?

 

Soom has a "100 days guarantee" you can see as item IV.5 in their FAQ: FAQ - The Gem

Note that that's business days, which for your order date would end on 8/31; if it goes past 100 business days, they credit your account with points for every day of delay.

 

I saw that, i just know in the past they say something and then it ends up being way longer, but that was like 10 years ago. Glad to hear they stick closer to that now. I can't seem to get away from only wanting Soom dolls XD I'm back in the hobby now and I look at all dolls but always end up buying from Soom

 

If I'm remembering things right, it was because of how long their shipping times were getting that they instituted that 100 day guarantee, so things didn't keep getting worse and worse. Everything I've ordered since then has come in less than that 100 day period, so they seem to be sticking to it, and if they don't, you'll get a nice discount on your next order.

 

I'm so excited! I just paid off my Soom Ender Horus!!

Oh man, I was seriously considering that myself and kinda regret not just going for it. Maybe a normal head might show up secondhand eventually haha. That's great though! Hope he arrives quickly!

 

I think I made an error in ordering peony white. I guess i just assumed that it was their new version of cream white and i didnt realize it was paper white

In other news, I ordered a Viol/Long in Snow Blue on layaway! It's so cute! I would never have thought to look for a bat fantasy doll! Of course I got the matching wings in blue!

I think I will add them to my enchanted forest story!

 

And just ordered a Rosette Hazel as he's just too cute and I've always wanted a Rosette.

My peony white komat/ior came in today, Made a full payment on 4/10/21. A lot whiter than i was prepared for but it's going to work out. When did Soom change their boxes to purple?

 

Arg...does anyone know how long it takes to ship? I paid my layaway off on June 22nd but it still says "preparing shipment". I just wanna know what's going on.

 

It depends. For Zak, he was shipped a month after I paid him off while Allegro was shipped within a week after the last payment. I'm currently waiting on my Ender to be shipped and I paid him off on June 12th.

 

for layaways, soom doesn't start production on your doll until after you make the final payment. iirc, "preparing shipment" just means your payments were confirmed and they've begun processing your order. my garrion i paid for in full has been on "preparing shipment" since i think late may

 

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere in their FAQ that they start making the dolls after the first payment is confirmed.

 

Well, here’s what it says about layaways on Soom’s FAQ (it’s under the ‘Shipping’ tab):

Normally our dolls are started to produce and shipped within 60 to 100 days after confirmation of your full payment. In case of the layaway payment orders, orders start production with other general orders when the first payment is confirmed.
Our dolls are produced with many steps of processing, so a small amount of dolls are produced by each day. So when the dolls are ready, we will send them to customers in order of full payment orders. The layaway payment orders must be delayed in full payment day compared to other general orders, so the shipping may be delayed as well. Additionally, the orders with layaway payment need a long payment period and irregular timing of payment, so the orders are rarely delayed to be ready by reason of missing aggregate or delaying production of some parts. For that reason, it is explained that shipping orders are within 60 to 100 days after the full payment day in general case, but most of them will be shipped shortly after full payment day since they have already been in production.

So I guess that means they will ship within 60-100 days after receiving your last payment?

 

Well, if you paid in full, that's 60-100 days. That's the production time it takes. BUT, if you did layaway, they start after your FIRST payment is confirmed. That way, once you finish payment, it will already be ready to ship!

It sounds like if there's a delay of more than a week after the last payment, you should definitely email them with your order number and ask if it's ready to ship yet.

I honestly didn't expect to see anything for at least another month (100 days puts me at the end of September so I was expecting sometime during September); hopefully it's a good sign for you and everyone else!

 

fingers crossed!! it's awesome that they're shipping this fast. 100 days puts me in octoberish, so this would be super duper early, but it's fantastic that it looks like Soom is shipping fast these days!

 

I agree, faster shipping times is great news, as I’m still in here, waiting on another petite gem order placed last month.

Ordered Goodbye Summer Amor since I refuse to miss out him again after not having the funds the first time he was available with both heads...Now I have to scramble and find him some clothes while I pay his layaway
I have to find him a nice suit and a priests robe, just more stuff to tack on to my already massive Taobao order!

My Leepy is finally on her way and cleared customs and will be home Monday right after I get home from a sweet bed and breakfast! A delightful gift.

I saw a really beautiful Idealian 75 Romantic Shoshon pop up for sale second hand...I couldn't resist so I've purchased him! His faceup has been changed so it looks a bit different from the original Romantic Shoshon, but I think he's gorgeous either way. I placed an order for a LUTS GSDF big boy last month, thinking I'll have to wait months for my first doll, but my Shoshon should be on his way to me this weekend (I bought him from Korea, shipping to Australia). So with any luck, I'll have him the week after next probably! I absolutely cannot wait and I'm so so so over the moon.

 

Just got a shipping notification for my Ender, ordered on March 29th, last payment was on June 12th.

 

Ugh, USPS still claims my expected delivery for my Ondiin is today, but the last scan is yesterday night in Chicago (after it scanned as leaving Chicago three days ago), so my hopes are low.

Edit: Well color me shocked. Tracking scanned into the local PO at 9:18 and went out for delivery ten minutes after that. Let's see if it actually shows today...

I LOVE HIM his face istg garrion has to be my favorite sculpt of anything, ever, hands down.

and he feels like SILK and i love the peony white. it's a "cool" white instead of a "warm" white and decidedly the most fantasy white tone i've ever come across. also wow, soom's authentication process is a lot. the certificates (for both head and body) have QR codes and you can even scan parts of the doll to make sure they match the codes?! just... wow.

 

Oh my god, he’s glorious! Mine just shipped and I’m even more excited!!

My Garion showed up today unexpectedly! Tracking still says he's in Korea. It's fun how I know these guys are huge, but it's really hard to truly fathom that until you see one in the flesh. My shoulders already gotten a workout. lol

 

Unexpectedly got the shipping notification today for my Idealian 51 centaur! I ordered/paid on May 18th and production was stated to take 5 months, so definitely a huge surprise!

 

Just paid off my Idealian Tei early and it now says preparing shipment. Does this means that he’s ready to be sent to me?

 

Unfortunately, no. I paid mine off at the end of June and it still says "preparing shipment". I sent them an email and here's the response I got:

""Preparing Shipment" means that confirmed a full payment for the order and processing in production,
and your order ***** is under preparing now and has not been scheduled to ship yet.

Normally our dolls will be shipped in 60~90 days after your full payment day,
but it does not mean you have to wait 90 days more from your full payment day for the order,
because most of the orders with the layaway payment will be shipped earlier than expected shipping schedule since they have been in production after your payment was made.

We will do the best to ship your order as soon as we can.

So I know most of you expected his size, but I haven’t had my (much thinner) 75cm body strung in a long while, and oh boy was I in for a surprise by how massive Garrion is. I barely got this absolute Unit of a man into some spare SID man clothes and a very loose pair of pants a friend made, after his calves nearly obliterated the SID pants…
