Soom Teenie Gem and Monthly Doll Discussion Part 14

I did a little tweaking to a photo of Rico... got rid of the teeth and changed the eyes to the ones I would most likely put in her... this is how it turned out, and I'm really loving it:



I think I'd go with a black wig (maybe with blue highlights) and a bit of a cooler toned face-up (with black lower lashes and more mauve colored lips).

I'm pretty set on placing my order maybe by this next weekend. I'm falling more and more in love with her as the days go by, but I still don't want to rush it.

 

She is very cute and the tails are beautiful.

 

I didn't think it was possible but your tweaking made her even more adorable.

I hope you're able to order one of these lovelies! I would be right alongside you ordering a WS/orange mermaid if my bank account allowed, heh. But hey, who knows? Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and use PayPal Credit (love Paypal Credit but... it is so... dangerous...)

 

Yeah, Paypal Credit could definitely be dangerous! That's why my husband is pretty strict about how we use it (he has Paypal Credit too). And we get it paid off asap! We've only used it for big purchases a couple times (my laptop was the first thing purchased with my Paypal credit).

I asked about the shimmery-ness of the tail to see if it was just blushing making it that way.
This is what Su told me: "The shimmery effect on the mermaid tail is because of body blushing.
I asked to one of coworkers whether original resin without body blushing is shimmery, and then was told that resin is little shimmery as itself,but not much."

I'm slightly disappointed, but it's not a deal-breaker for me.

Sounds like how I use PayPal Credit. I typically use it for dolls, but I'll only go through with a purchase if I'm certain I'll be able to pay off the balance within the six month "interest free" period. (I avoid paying interest whenever possible, heh.)

The thing I'm struggling with the most right now is figuring out what to do about an outfit. Normally I'd just buy a frezje dress and call it good, but I want something that is two piece so that she can have a cute top to wear when she's got her mermaid tail on. I really liked the Soom default outfit's top piece, but I didn't like the skirt, so I couldn't justify buying it.

 

I see )) Well, may be you can by something made specially for your mermaid? ) I'm sure, you can find it while waiting )

 

Yeah, I thought about commissioning something. So I might do that.

 

And I have doubts about her make-up... it should be fantasy style, but not sure yet want to paint exactly.

 

Frezje makes crocheted tops for the MSD girls. I bet she would do something for a tiny.

 

I'll be sending my girl to maiya, who painted my gray Skoll. ^_^ I plan to go with cool colors: blacks, blues, & purples with maybe a mauve-ish lip color.

Yeah, I thought about that, but I'm not sure I want something crocheted if it's just the top. I'll have to give it some thought. ^_^

 

Maybe she could do one with a short skirt that is open in the front.

Yeah, I love maiya's work too. I will be sending her my gray Bygg girl too at some point. She's got the default Soom face-up right now, but I feel like it's far too simple compared to my gray Skoll (her cousin)'s face-up (done by maiya). I think I want to get something more similar to his so that they look even better side-by-side. ^_^
If I can afford it, I might even send her my Bygg head and my Rico head at the same time!

So, might anyone with Soomlings happen to also have a Luts HDF? I'm wondering about the possibility of hybriding Soom legs onto an HDF body, so I was wondering if anyone knows how well the knees would match up?

 

@AirimirOfGondor I have luts hdf on body type 5
they have different type of knee joints, so I don't think they'll match
also, HDF is bigger, then Soom TG

Hello all! Today marks three years since Luna (my OE Bygg) came home!

I snapped a few quick photos today to mark the occasion:




I plan to send her out for a new face-up someday. Probably when I send out my new little Serin/Rico girl! ^_^

 

What a sweetie! Happy Three Year Anniversary, Luna! Time flies, aye? I will have had my TG Pyrol for six years come December... I still remember how I felt when I saw his MD announcement.

 

Oh, jeez, Pyrol and Minette were released that long ago already? @_@ Time flies indeed! I bought mine on layaway, so I got them some time in the spring, but still! :3

Yep! Time sure does fly! ^_^ Hard to believe I've been in this hobby for over 7 years now!! My first tiny was Yrie and she came out in October of 2009 and she got home in March of 2010. She wasn't my first doll, but she is now my oldest!

 

I know, right? I remember when they were released very vividly because they were the first tiny centaurs I had ever seen! (Except maybe Daisy Dayes... I can't remember if she had a centaur or not). Now there are many more ponybutts floating around! (A plus in my book. Can't have too many centaurs!)

Seven years! Awesome. Yrie is such a cute sculpt!

 

Yep! I joined in June of 2009. Agreed! Yrie is one of my favorite sculpts for sure! ^_^ Along with Bygg/Beyla and Hati/Skoll! All of whom I own!

Hey guys! I found a good deal on a Soom Teenie and want to check if it is legit. Can anyone send me pictures of the insides of their head caps? I'm not sure if different Teenies will have different caps, but I'm looking at Lami in particular.

 

@Artiee, if you want to check on the legitimacy of a doll, you can post a link to a listing or website, or photos you have from the seller in Ask the Mods, and the mod team can have a look at that item specifically for you.

 

Does anyone know when the last TG Fce was? I just asked soom what the next fce will be and they said TG! I am trying to get a feel for how often an fce for a given size comes around!

Thank you for sharing the good news with us! Seems like Soom is much more open with their future plans recently than they were in the past. All that secrecy for nothing!
The last TG FCE was October 2014, so it's about time! The one before that was 2012, so every two years sounds about right.

Here is a list of available sculpts from 2014 and here are the 2012 ones!

Does anyone want to compile a list of possible candidates this year?
What sculpts are you looking forward to? (I'm definitely too invested in this already...)

 

To be honest I would love to see some of their elves line included. Like Selen/Sabie and Flint/Hawa.

 

I'm doomed for the next TG FCE. :O So many cuties to possibly choose from.

 

Me too, totally! Despite the customer srvice and quality problems I'm still in love with the Soom old sculpts, I've got 3 or 4 of them in mind that I'd definitely want to be purchasing if they are available... Such a hard choice coming,if the TG FCE is really to happen soon - I'll hope to see the most desired sculpts there, meanwhile trying to locate exta funds for them in advance.

 

Mountain elves, coyote elves and Cheshire kittens! Those are my favorites.

 

I'm in love with the Cheshires too! Hope they'll be included in FC event, despite being rather "young" in terms of the releases timeline. The Tiny's are even more adorable than the MSD ones, which are already purrrfect in my opinion

 

did you guys see trachy and lami are gonna be available from soom for halloween '0'!!

*W* Ohhh, I haven't popped in here in quite a while but i'm glad I randomly decided to check in because the news of a possible TGFCE is sooo exciting!
So for anyone who is wondering, the most likely sculpts they will be offering are: Carbon/Luxillia, Wave/Soda, Sammi/Picro, Flint/Hawa, Feny/Necy, Selen/Sabie.

This prediction is based entirely off past TGFCE tenancies to favor the 6 oldest sculpts not previously available in an FCE. If my dates are correct these are the current oldest 6 TG main releases. Last Little Gem FCE they included the Elves line so it stands to reason they would also include it for the TGs. I suppose Wave/Soda is a bit of an outlier as in previous TGFCE's they haven't offered centaur sculpts (to my knowledge, correct me if wrong) in FCEs so whether or not they'll offer a merperson is hard to say for certain. In that case however, Rru/Lilid would be the next in line but again, whether or not they'd be included due to their cat-taur bodies is debatable. The next in line would be Hansel/Gretel which would fit perfectly in a standard TGFCE lineup. Also a reminder for oldies and newbies alike that fantasy/romantic head versions are the only ones offered in FCEs in most cases, though completely closed eye/sleeping heads are usually excluded in favor of the OE variant (Appini/Shonki for example).
c: Hopefully that helps for anyone hoping their favorite will be re-released. ^w^ I personally am waiting for Han/Asronn to be re-released but I highly doubt its their time yet. Mountain Lion head Rru/Lilid on a Feny/Necy body is extremely tempting to me though, but I'm not in a position to be getting a new doll soon so i'm kind of glad that isn't a very likely possibility haha~
...xD Also yay for Lami/Trachy being re-released! They are one of my favorite Teenies so I'd love to see more of them around!
