So the other day I had my first go at putting the back wings in my Ario. I have never been so frustrated with a doll part before! The little back plugs are nice for hiding the hole the wings fit into but they are SUCH a pain to get out because of how strong the magnets are. I'm glad it's not something Soom's tried to use very often x.x

I'm still deciding between Grit and Taco for the FCE. I super want Taco because I just love his face, however, the Grit sculpt has so much more expression to it that fits the character I'm going for. I SOOO want both dolls but I promised myself I wouldn't due to low funds There is just no way. I might wait a few more days before I order.

Has anyone set up a waiting room?

 

I'm still torn as well. I really want Appini and Lami, and I seriously can't decide which one I want more. But I also promised myself that if I do order from this event, it won't be more than one doll:/ I wish I knew what Soom has planned for the next few months, that would make the decision a lot easierXD I can totally see them coming out with another awesome doll I want before the end of the year>_<

 

I asked again a question regarding the Trahcy/Lami head, but it will be my last, because I they dodged my question twice already. Maybe this is not the right time for me to have a Lami closed-mouth head and might wait for a SO Trachy/Lami, and I hope they'll offer it in skin tones other than NS.

 

When I asked them about the Lami head, they gave me the usual "no plans" reply, which doesn't really mean anything considering they also had "no plans" for grey skinXP I would definitely be in trouble if they decided to add the Lami head, though^^"

 

I am still trying to decide if I should get my Appini with a face up or not. Ideally I'd like to send her out for a faceup but might not be able to for a while.

Sooms faceup for her had always sort of underwhelmed me though. But blank dolls make me sad haha. I'll probably just get her blank...or not. I cannot decide!!

 

Ermergerd! I am so utterly thrilled that Shonki and Appini are back! I JUST missed them getting into the doll hobby and I've always wanted a tiny kitten thing. Other heads will have to wait! Buying this one!

Please tell me this doesn't mean the price has been upped permanently>_< I love Soom's blushing for fantasy parts, so I usually get the seam removal as well because of course it looks better without the seam.

Btw, I'm really wondering when they'll release the September MD. I mean, it's the middle of October nowXD

 

Noooo why is everything getting more expensive? The high price for grey resin already sucks...

 

I don't get seam removal ever, mostly because I've never encountered any particularly bad seams from Soom, but it sucks that they raised the price of yet again something else on the site. I guess all the options they've added have caused them to consider making things pricier too maybe? I've always wondered what the actual margin of profit is for some doll companies...

Lil Spark, I was thinking the exact same thing when I was thinking about what to order Lami on, he is an excellent dragon head with those horns and open mouth, though I think I was a little more tempted by the hoofy body.

I need to actually decide when I'm ordering, but I'm always a late period orderer anyways.

 

I was thinking about the hoofy body for my Keny but there are so many Teenies with hooves that I will order Keny on the Grit/Syen body

I've never actually considered the difficulty of use the back plugs. I don't have any tinies with them but I have a LG with back plugs that I never use and I don't think I will lol But I supose if you keep a big strong magnet handy you can attack it out with it? I don't know lol

As for the rise in prices. The sanding I guess can be tricky and if they want to give a better service. And for the price of dolls themselves, I guess thats inflation and the cost of materials and such? It's sad as I want more dolls, not less

Some new and improved Tulie for the new thread ^^ I like theses hooves better than the blue she had previously (They were very chipped aswell xD) And I've added some new layers of sealant so she can actually pose now! She was so shiney and slippery before! Very scary to think how old she is
How old is everyone's oldest doll? Tulie is from Glot/Glati's first realeased but second hand xD She's been with me since September 2009.

 

Tulie's blushing looks very nice! The lavenderish purple seems to sit the shades of her wig as well

My first doll is from 2005 but I have a second hand doll that I got on 2006 but the doll is from 2004. My first teenie is from 2009. I remember I wanted a Glot back then...but I opted for Beyla

So far so good for me, I don't do fantasy dolls so free choices are not for me. I swore to myself that I will not order more teenies until I find Soom Sweet 3

 

Yumi, I really hope that you will find one! It would be so fun to see another Sweet (or Violet, the same sculpt) around. I wish you all the patience with that decision, since I think there are so few so it's not like one is always going to pop up in the marketplace.

 

Thank you Shara! I have faith that I will find one someday this is how I have gotten most of my dolls...3 years ago I wanted a sculpt that was out of stock and this year someone who saw my old comment contacted me to offer me their head. Like you said, I have to be veeeeery patient @-@

 

She's adorable! My oldest is an original release Glati, too, though I'm the only owner so far. (I've been thinking of trading him, but I can never decide for sure...)

I'm really thinking of going after either a NS or Bronze Taco/Dolomi in the current event, though... that's one I would have liked to get the first time around, if I hadn't been on a hobby-break then. (Picro/Sammi is another I hope they offer in a future event; they're just so cute!)

I got a beyla and a Bygg with thier first release I couldn't decided which I wanted and because I missed out of Glot/Glati I thought I'd get both to cheer me up, and then I found Tulie on the market place lol I only have Bygg now though But the sculpt is so perfect!

I think tulie would be 1 of the last dolls I'd let go of... I am thinking of ditching the default faceup though I'm hoping for Sammi/picro when I can afford too. But in grey... hoping they keep that colour option going ^^ Grey is beautiful After selling Beyla as I thought I couldn't have more than 1 of a sculpt, Sammi has made me feel differently as, yes I already have a sammi... but I so so so want another xD

These little babies are so cute! I have been dying to get a little female for ciel. I only have one yosd, which is a boy, and soom had been one of my top choices since I got my elf boy. Seeing all these wonderful teenies make me want a soom teenie even more. All of your dolls are absolutely the cutest!!!!

 

I'm just falling more and more in love with Picro/Sammi! I definitely will look out for them in future events (although I would prefer an OE blue Picro, but I might go for a grey Sammi if they offer grey in a future event and see if I can get an OE blue Picro second-hand someday).

My oldest doll (as in, the one who has been with me the longest) is my Yrie, who I bought direct from Soom (on layaway) in the fall of 2009 and received in March of 2010! My oldest dolls in terms of actual age of the doll (or head), are my Bygg/Beyla girls, which I bought second-hand from other owners. My Yrie wasn't always my oldest doll (I owned one full SD sized doll and an SD sized head before I bought her), but she will be my oldest from now on (since I sold both dolls I got prior to her, but do not plan to sell her ever, unless it's a matter of life & death, lol).

And now, for a walk down memory lane....

Such good memories! She was my first tiny and my first Soom doll, so Wren is incredibly special to me!

 

Really lovely dolls

My oldest Soomling is my dear Sunny (who is off getting a new faceup) so here's one of the pictures I have of her shortly after she arrived (second hand)



However, my oldest doll that I own is a CP Soo. I'm not really sure how old she is. At least 6 years old. She was sort of in a sad condition when I got her so she was my biggest fixer-upper. My Beyla came in 100% lovely condition (so awesome that I was shocked because of her age).

On another note, I am STILL struggling with this FCE. I don't know if I want:

-Bronze Grit/Grit
-Gray Taco/Taco
-Gray Grit/Taco
-Bronze Grit/Taco

This would all be solved if I could get two dolls. I think I just need to make a decision and order. I wish people could help me, but to be honest, all 4 would be awesome dolls and it's really just a matter of personal preference.

Does anyone have any gray Teenies with red/reddish/carrot hair that they can post? that might help me with my decision.

Edit: Nevermind! I just ordered Grit/Taco in Gray

Thanks, Kelaria! I'm super excited! As for deciding... well, I really WANTED gray skin and I originally wanted a Taco. However I've become attached to Grit. Being that Grit doesn't have human hands, I ordered him on a Taco body. The only thing I miss out on is Grit's wings :/

I watched the walking dead this weekend and I kind of want to do zombie costume and temporary make ups for a couple of my dolls for the Halloween meetup but not sure how to do it without being permanent or leaving traces of paint.

I was safe from the fce but I'm already thinking if Soom might surprise me with a nice X-mas event A cheaper human Teenie would be such a nice thing to buy! And then I of course have the Skoll coming too. But I haven't bought any other dolls this whole year so maybe... With the right doll coming up...

Also I'm so sad I can't go to LDoll this year. Soom's coming and although their selection of dolls doesn't get me crying it would have been so nice to see them in person. Also, they've stated that they are selling limited MD outfits and I'm wavering if the Hawa outfit would be worth the price. It's definitely cute, would suit Nuu perfectly, but I dunno if it's 67€ cute... And it's not like I'm short on Soom (or other) outfits for my Teenies

 

The Hawa outfit is really cute and nice for cooler weather. I'm not sure soom's clothes are worth the price since the prices went up. I really wanted the mermaid msd outfits but I didn't want to pay 95.40 usd (even higher priced than I remembered) for something so light and ethereal. I think I can make something I will like, for much, much less. I know soom uses a lot of trims and beads and that add to the prices but it's just a doll outfit, and for 95.40 I can get a doll head instead. I can't make a pretty doll head on my own but I can sew when pushed lol.

 

Wren is so lovly ^^ It's great looking at old photos I've been digging out old photos of all my dolls recently for my blog I've started so ^^ And as for Picro/Sammi. I actually wasn't looking for sammi when I bought her, but just saw her on the MP and thought... Yes I want her, going to buy her lol And now I'm dying for another of the sculpt, and I've decided I'd open the eyes this time Was going to with Sammi but forgot to ask the faceup artist lol

That's sort of how it happened to me with Laurel! I wasn't looking for a Beyla, let alone an R. Beyla (since I tend to prefer OE heads), but when I saw her, I knew I wanted her! And she was decently priced too (since she was on a 5stardoll body), so I jumped at the chance! I'm so glad I did, because I adore Laurel. ^_^

 

Thank you, Mushoom! I can't wait to get my Beyla back together either. She is going to be so cute! And thank you so much for the picture of your Bygg with red hair! That helps me a lot and makes me know that I made the right choice with Gray skin. Your Bygg is so beautiful!

 

just checked on my order again and looks like soom changed the shipping fees again they're still pricier than before but no where near as big a difference, they're charging me 39$ now to ship my teenie gem instead of the 55$... this makes me very happy XD

 

Yeah I was gonna mention that my shipping was now 40 something when it was 50 something just last week!! Wonder what happened?

 

I'm glad I'm safe from this FCE. I have no idea when or if Soom will release the doll I suggested, or what size it would be, but I know that having to order a Picro or Carbon in grey would seriously interfere with my ability to buy a new doll.

 

I like to get three dolls and a couple of heads, but you know if wishes were fishes, we'd all stink LOL. I'm still trying to figure what dolls I can get. I'm glad the shipping went down!!

A couple of my dolls don't have face up's, so maybe I could make them zombies with unsealed pastels or some elmers glue and latex. I have heard elmers glue is good for fake sores and fake makeup because it's pliable when dry and easy to remove.

 

Hmm... do you think Soom would adjust my order from September if I asked? I am paying nearly $60 to ship one teenie gem!

 

Tonboko, I would definitely ask. It's not fair considering the price to ship my teenie and your teenie will probably be the same. Soom should change your price!

 

Tonboko, if you do ask, let me know what they say! If they agree, I will ask too. I don't mind paying extra if that's what it costs, but I do think that it's kinda unfair that I missed the $20 cheaper shipping cost by one day and then now they changed it back to being cheaper again! :/

It would help a lot if I could save some on the shipping cost... I still have clothes to buy for both Eleya and my Skoll, and I need to buy his eyes and wig from Luts and, of course, the face-up costs!

 

There is some kind of weird glitch with Soom's shopping cart. Every time I'm signed in and have things in my shopping cart, and then go to check on my payments on another order, the soom shopping cart order gets added to my old ongoing order. It's done this several times. Do you think I should tell Soom about it or does it matter at all?

 

That's actually been around for a long time. Something that it did to me was when I ordered my Adamelli centaur, after I ordered, but before they confirmed the payment, I had put a Shale centaur in the shopping cart and it looked like it was added to my order (though I did not pay for him) Now, when I look at the order, it shows Adamelli as "delivered" and Shale as "cancelled"

Not sure why their system does that, but the shopping cart/ordering can be tricky

The question is, is it intentional or an error? I wouldn't be surprised if they changed it back again once people alert them to it>.< Then again, we pretty much have to ask because it really wouldn't be fair if that's the new shipping price and we paid more. I paid the more expensive shipping for Ace and Rico and since neither of them have shipped yet (though I imagine Ace will soon), I will probably ask about the change in shipping fees...
