I caved and asked on the QA if Red Riding Hood was part of the FCE (which I called Free Choice - gah! hope they're not offended) and put in my request for blue.
'Blue Bunny!' I said. hopefully, they'll at least get a laugh.
I see the comment was read, so hopefully there will be some response next week.
even if I don't buy anything, the whole process of choosing is fun.

 

That they are lol.... Sometimes I wonder what goes on in the minds of the design teams XD. The skills and antlers coming out of the toes....all I can think of are those creepy long fungal nails. -shivers-

How do they stay on or help him balance anyway? O.o

 

I also thought they looked really creepy, and now that you mention it I totally see fungal nails XD Gross. It just looks really awkward to me. It looks like there are two magnets on each antler/claw to secure it to the foot, but I would be worried about them popping out all the time. I was expecting a cool new pair of hooves tbh.

 

I'm still holding out hope to get a tan/dark Vesuvia.

@luckeegurl36 - well, we both missed out. Vesuvia was in a previous FCE, and I guess my bunny girl might be in the next one 2 years from now
- so you're too late, and I'm too early! but, there's always the Marketplace, and Soom recycles older sculpts. (although I wouldn't want Bunny without her bunny parts.)

I am SO with you two. That combo would be a must have for me. Though I do hold out hope for a tan Snow White (I know she isn't everyone's cup of tea - but I can't help it: I find her elegant and lovely), I'm not likely to see her for a few more years. At least I have time to gather my pennies.

not enough FCE sales at Soom. I love the mix and match idea. also wish we could buy heads/bodies separately.

Vesuvia is my grail - but only in fantasy color.

 

The exact thing they said to petiteballerine above. Pretty much that Vesuvia is not on the list of sculpts they'll be offering.

Yeah, that body type list is pretty... underwhelming, to put it nicely. It looks like even with what types there are, a lot of fantasy parts (e.g. wings) are not included.

 

I like Ignim, but looking at bodies....whuuut?

The circles confuse me.

 

I believe the circles are meant to indicate how the doll was originally released, meaning you can't pair up the doll head and body in one of those skin tones but if you can chose a different head or a different body then the skin tones are available.

You can't pair Ignim head + Ignim body in normal or tawny but you can pair an Ignim head with a Cinderella body in normal or tawny.

I was hoping for some fantasy goodness. Will be looking to see what people come up with.

The next one is faeries which should be more fantasy!

 

I'm going to bug them on the Q&A about adding more options.
Last time I asked begged for Cass Mermaid and she was actually added after the initial release so I hope everyone lets SOOM know their wishes too.

 

I like Breccia Soul Stealer's head. I'm looking for vamps this year. but....the bodies are mostly regular girls.
too bad they didn't offer the Fox Breccia body. a nice combo I'd go for.

if my bunny girl wasn't available, I was really interested in Ignim with her cat head with Agate's cool feet. but....no Agate.
FCE is such a fun idea, and the last one was very cool. this time, not so much.

 

Amber head in list! I want grey Amber

 

I am pretty disappointed in the lack of fairy parts for the Cinderella body. I was really, really hoping they'd include her fairy legs and wings, so I could combine her body with Odette's head. I didn't care for Cinderella's head but I LOVED the fact that she was essentially an SG version of the Faery Legends, and Odette didn't have enough fantasy parts for my liking.

I think I might email them and see whether or not they would add the parts in. Here's hoping!!

 

I think the FCE lacks the fantasy aspect even more than I was afraid it would.
Even Gneiss head no snakes and wings, Cinderella no fantasy parts etc ... Hmm :/

 

And where is The Fox?? I want her body

 

Hello I am new to this thread and to Soom dolls, I'm currently waiting on my Hyperon Lucifer. I was interested in Ignim but I'm confused about the color choices, could someone please explain if the head only comes in tawny or gray do I have to choose a body that only comes in those colors? I'm confused about the darker circles and the lighter ones to what is available.

 

Based on last night's response, it's not looking good for any last-minute additions. so I've reverted back to waiting for Witch from The Wizard of OZ.

The circles indicate the colour the doll was originally sold in. During Free Choice Events, you cannot recreate a doll that has already been for sale.
You cannot combine a head and it's original body is one of the original skin tones, you need to mix and match them.

Here are some examples:

Gneiss head + Gneiss body in normal skin tone CANNOT be created
Gneiss head + Gneiss body in grey skin tone CAN be created
Gneiss head + Cinderella body in normal skin tone CAN be created
Cinderella head + Gneiss body in normal skin CAN be created

Sweet Witch head + Sweet Witch body in normal skin tone CANNOT be created
Sweet Witch head + Sweet Witch body in cream white skin tone CANNOT be created
Sweet Witch head + Sweet Witch body in dark brown or tawny or grey CAN be created

(note Sweet Witch was also originally released in Smoky Grey which is different from regular Grey so Grey is allowed).

Hm ... we will order Sweet Witch body in ns and ... some head for our floating Coquina but I will opt out.

The thing about Breccia is ... neither is the head listed with horns nor the body with tail ... so I don't know.
It's like the few dolls with fantasy aspect don't even come with the intersting parts.
Like I mentioned Gneiss ... I love her snakes and wings but without them ? It feels wrong somehow ...

 

Well, there is one thing left that confuses me .. in the anouncement here on Doa it shows the witch body without wings but on Soom's site they are listed.
What happned here

 

I'd be more likely to believe the listing on Soom's site, but who can really say. I'm hoping she does come with the wings, but I also don't think I'll be too upset if she doesn't. I'm just so excited that she's available in the grey, though it would have been fun to see her in a blue or purple as well.

I can't wait for them to get the prices up, because I'm debating putting a doll from a different company on layaway and I'd like to know how much Soom's gonna put me out at the same time~ *shakes fist at companies with concurrent events*

Count me as disappointed as well.

As soon as I saw they were offering Amber's head - and the dark brown resin - I got super excited as I've ALWAYS wanted a dark tan Amber. A grey Amber would be fantastic too! But then, they're not offering Amber's body. What a huge let-down. I would have ordered her in a heartbeat. I feel like this is a huge missed opportunity for them.

I also really loved Epidia in the dark tan, but of course they're only offering the open-mouthed-with-fangs head, and I'd want to get the regular one. *sigh*

 

Thank you. It looks like Soom is trying to sell out more basic dolls this summer? They had a basic ID Eden last month. As a newb I was looking forward to exploring more fantasy characters..,

 

Elzaim, I don't think they can add Amber's body, because in grey version she was like ONE OFF for LDoll 5

But I think it's a very good chance to take her in grey skin on another body.

 

I like Breccia also, but no cool feet for any of them. and no wings. I think they're casting the same body type without wing holes to save time and money, so no wings. don't know why Epidia is the only one with animal feet. and they're just a bit big for me.
and not all choices have real high heeled feet with a joint, just the chopped off ones.
why does Cinderella not have her fairy legs at least?
prices should reflect a lack of items offered.

I forgot about that grey Amber one-off!

Even still, she's never been cast in the dark brown color, so that should still be an option. I don't believe she was ever offered in NS either (as in, the full fantasy version), and even if she *was* cast in grey ONCE, shouldn't they still offer her in that skin tone for people to purchase (because I think she was a raffle prize for Ldoll, right?).

And like you say, you can mix and match heads to different bodies, which I think a lot of people would take the opportunity for if her body was made available, given the lack of fantasy bodies included in the list so far.

Amber has already been in a Free Choice Event. I believe her body wasn't released for that very reason, people could create their own grey Ambers by purchasing two dolls.

 

I don't know why they don't include more fantasy stuff.
What about the newly made Beryl version ?
If they include fairly new SO Breccia why not the hooved body from the Beryl SO ?

And if Witch comes with wings, why not Cinderella *sigh*

In general though, SOOM has been a little wonky lately; releasing dolls, taking them off sale completely and/or early. I don't know why they would include Amber for a second time and skip dolls which have never been in an event. They must have their reasons, even if we don't like them or understand their motives.

 

Elzaim, she was in all marketed colors, except Tawny and Dark Brown. I think because of ONE OFF they can not offer her body for choice.
But you are right, we can take her head in any skin tone, but with another body.

I agree with Arekushia.
But I not agree with SOoM to make her like ONE OFF before, because so much people want that grey beauty.

 

I would like to know their motives and their staff better sometimes. I recently stumbled upon fairyland and I love their 'little' letters because they help so much with knowing what is going on.
Like Soom's tree of life theme which I absolutely loved got completely canceld and you just don't know anything if you are not lucky enough to get the right piece of information from instagram ...

I think, they include Amber to up their sales. Old SOoM's sculpts are more popular, than new molds.
For example, I was sure I don't order in that FCH anything, but when I saw Amber in list - I was dumbfounded And now I decide to order Amber in grey skintone. They understand that very good.

wow! they added wings on the Soom site. they were not there earlier today or last night. trust me, I've been looking it over a lot. didn't even know
the list was here on DOA. so, Sweet Witch will have the chest piece with holes in it. their concession to our whining.
it makes a Breccia/S.Witch combo more interesting to me.

so, asking for what you want does work to some degree.

 

Ugh I was hoping for more fantasy colors other than gray skin, I was looking towards the pale blue skin. Also I'm kinda disappointed with the lack of fairy parts for Cinderella, I'm thinking weather I should participate or not but if I do I might get Cinderella head with the hansel and gretel body maybe in cream white or gray.
