Someone mentioned something about a 5 month layaway but now Soom is saying that they only have the 4 month and thats the max? O_o Is that right?

 

Oh but wait.....wouldn't that be one of 4 payments anyway? I mean if you divide them into 4 payments, would 25% be the same aboumt as the first payment anyway?
So if you wanted to do a 5 month layaway and they said 25% has be put down upfront....wouldn't that be the same as the 4 month plan?
Or is it the 1st payment you have to pay 25% down, then you can pay over an additional 4 months?
....am I confused?

So if the order was 1000 dollars you would have to pay 250 for the first payment. Which is about the same as dividing 1000 by 5. months. Hm..::scratches head:: Sorry if I'm a dumbass guys.

 

I believe you have to do the first 25% up front and then do three more equal payments. So rather than 5 20% payments you do 4 25% payments.

 

I still think its 25% first payment and then the other 75% is divided for the last 4 or 5.

since as achsfan and onna said, a 4 part would just be 25% each one. but that would be a 4 month. not a 5 or 6.

I am trying to buy amber on layaway and pay for her with credit card, but I simply can't understand the creditcard system Soom uses. is there anyone here who can plspls simply explain to me how to pay a layaway payment with creditcard at Soom?? (here or through PM)

So make your order, and then each time your payment is up, order the payment amount in gift certificate (they have them in dollar and cent amounts), select the exemption to shipping, say what order number in the comments and pay with your credit card. With the new payment system, the first payment has to be 25% of the total, I think. Hope that helps

That would be nice! It sucks to have to save almost another hundred dollars for shipping... I just can't decide if I want to order. She is steadily growing on me but I am afraid I will order her and the next MD will really be THE ONE. LOL.

 

The only thing to consider is that Amber completes their zodiac run... So who knows whats coming next.

 

Yeah that is true but they said something sortof cryptic in a Q&A answer too that made me wonder even more. Someone asked if they would be releasing any of the Monthly heads as regulars and he answered that they were working on something super secret and he couldn't talk about it.... so I am not sure what that means. Maybe we will be able to get hooves with other heads. That is what I am really hoping for.

I've already ordered a full set Amber but am now debating getting a second blank Amber! I'm waiting for Soom to tell me if they'd reimburse the shipping difference.

I tried to find on Soom's site, where free shipping is offered...I'm guessing it might have been a temporary promotion for end of last year? Anyone know for sure?

 

I never got free shipping from them when I ordered from them. I bought 3 different monthly dolls, and each time I was charged shipping. I guess the free shipping was just a one time thing.

If it's any consolation, I've never seen an announcement stating Soom was offering free shipping.

 

I sold the first one to buy the second one (I just had to have Euclase), so I'll only have 2...as soon as they ship out.

Yeah I hadn't heard anything about free shipping from Soom. The only company I'm aware of with free shipping is Dollmore. *sigh* It would be nice though if Soom offered it. Shipping is ouchies.

Soom used to offer free shipping but stopped it soon after Sabik came out, I bought mine with the first lot and had him shipped free, the second issue had to pay shipping. Elfdoll also offers free shipping (or it used to). Most companies don't but some pay part of the costs. Apparently the Souldoll Centaur costs $100 to ship so it could be worse....

 

In the Heliot WR, KFC buckets were mentioned; ie parts (rejects even). And someone, do not remember who, posted a letter in Soom's Q&A about offering such "bags". The response was along the lines of: its a good idea, we'll think about it.

 

yikesitsmindy,my suggestion is that get Amber only if you really fall in love with her. If you just want hoove baby, or your heart is set for Sard or whoever, hold back. You can save the money for your dream doll. Also, it's not fair for a doll to be brought home only as a substitute for another doll.

Well, you could almost say mine is a five month layaway. I paid 20% of the total cost of Amber when I placed the order, and I told them there would be four more payments planned, the last would be in May. SO.... depending on how you look at it, mine could be a four OR five month. I would personally count the first payment made at the time of order being the "deposit" and then the four remaining payments are just that. I haven't heard from them that this is not acceptable.

Aquarius was the tan warrior looking Deneb. I asked them myself one day. I don't understand it either. -__- Doesn't fit.

Apparently, with that one as the first monthly doll they released.. no one really noticed the them until Vega Last Song came out. XD

 

I hope they do redo the Aquarius... because seriously? kickass warrior chick? ... I don't see the resemblance

Actually if you read up on Aquarius the warrior side is one of its main qualities, and Aquarius is technically an Air/Earth sign not a water one. A lot of people just associate it with water because its image of the water carrier.

Also has anyone thought of maybe they are going to make a 13th doll, there is another constellation in the Zodiac called the Ophiuchus, its the snake holder. [[this is of course if they go by the constellations and not the months XD]]

Is the new layaway going to make a difference to people being able to pay her off? I'm wondering if it will affect me as I just used to make fortnightly payments. I won't be able to do that now if we're following the new rules.

While it would be AWESOME if they did an Ophiuchus doll, I somehow doubt they will. It's zodiacal (the sun passes through it), but it's not included in the astrological charts. I think they were doing these more as astrological dolls.

Oh, but a naga doll would make me happy.

 

Hm. On the Q&A, they have said they will do a new set of dolls after the "2008 Constellation." Guess it's back to the speculation threads again.

I hope they keep with the 'theme' and go with the chinese zodiac, if not next but eventually. c: Though I'm sure whatever they do decide to do next -if they do do anything that is- will be awesome reguardless of where the inspiration comes from.

Then, to keep my post on topic, does anyone know for certain if Amber's tail is magnetic or attached directly to the waist piece...? I'm not sure if I missed something on here or not.

 

Amber's tail is magnetic, but from what I understand, she also comes with a specialized waist to accommodate the tail as well. So, she comes with two waists, but the tail is indeed magnetic.

I'm not sure about free shipping, but when I was ordered (I got two of the girls ), I filled out the shipping as regular EMS and it didn't charge me, I'm thinking of asking them about it They did charge me from my regular EMS for my Vesuvia, and Premium EMS for Heliot so I am also confused

I kind of thought that, so I'm assuming because it's missing the other piece the past hoofed MD's had, she won't be able to crouch/sit as low as them?

Also, I asked about combining shipping of two dolls and they said they can't since it's over the EMS allowance: more info here

I'm sorry if this has been already posted. I paid $80 for seam and sanding, but it seems seam and sanding is $120? I have no clue if I need to fix my order or pay more now.

 

I think Soom moved the joint in the calf to the actual ankles so it'll be more Deerlike and it'll be able to move it's ankles instead of the other MDs...

 

I wondered about that, but even drawings showing the joints confused me. I guess we'll see!
