Soom [MD/Dec]: Afi&Ai - Winnie Dee

Ahahaha I don't ONLY do nude doll photography! xDD
It's just something I like to do from time to time, so I like my dolls to look fabulous naked as well as dressed!
Most of the time they sit fully dressed and looking beautiful, and a lot of my photos are of them dressed.. but occasionally I do like to pull off the wig and clothes and try to be creative.

I still need a potential name for Afi. I think in order to rationalize getting her, I need to have her name totally sorted. I already totally have her character sorted though.. and she needs a goddess/mythology/fairy queen sort of name as that's a theme I'm going with here for my Soom dolls.
Titania, Lilith, Erato, Nyx and Sorae so far! - Ok so Sorae I totally made up from nowhere but as it means blessing from the sky, I think it works!! xD

Puck in Midsummer Nights Dream was awesome. ^^ Loved his hooves.

 

Soom layaway is easy and if you only get blank doll, it is only like $130 a month for 3 payments.

They sometimes ship people who pay with layaway first (it is random shipping) so there is no loss doing layaway

she is cute totally worth it. They will not make hooves like these anymore

Hmm looks like I'll be joining the layaway set soon too 3 month layaway is nice, long enough that you can afford it, but short so you aren't waiting forever.

Gah speaking if money matters, I have to do some prodding of my bank, and get a debit mastercard so I can use my own paypal and stop having to poke my ex for the use of his.. Although that will slow my spending/require more layaways as I'll have to have the funds rather than pay it off the credit card!

God I wish XD It's more just plain logic for him, he doesn't do stuff to be nice or because he's whipped sadly, he just knows I'm honest and good at paying him back, and this would be useful for me >_< He's actually pretty annoying 99% of the time, the credit card thing is one of the only concessions I get from him.. (Right now we're in the middle of a fight we started last night with him doing something that CONSTANTLY annoys me, and it's my fault because I was offended by it... Argh) < Hence why I'm trying to cut contact with him in a few ways..

Luckily none of my boys have issues with my dolls. D freaks out a little with them, but I'm weaning him slowly (start them off with the big-boobed dolls!) J actually knows that around the 21st of the month he will be slightly ignored in order for me to stare at the new soom dolls XD He was a bit quiet this week until just now! Haha. Well trained? I haven't shown him Afi and Ai yet though, but I'm sure his "aww" would be forced anway XD

You know what the awful thing is? Because I am self employed, I can't get a real persons credit card, because I don't earn enough! Stupid startup small business >_>

I was thinking of something goddess like that incorporated the concept of both fire and ice at the same time and about to go on this mass search through mythology to see if I could find something appropriate.. but Puck would be PERFECT.
The only thing wrong with it is that it automatically makes me think of a boy, when my Afi would be a girl.
Saying that though, I was going to get Galena and call her Oberon so, clearly I have no issues with screwing with the gender of things.
Hey.. Puck could even actually BE a hermaphrodite. Neither girl nor boy.. just Puck. xD

The greying isn't a huge deal, as long as you're capable of re-doing things on your own.^^ It's a nuisance for those who have to commission work from what I understand.

It's really the hybrid part, and the fact that I'll be spending (or have already spent on Yrie) a small fortune to get 3 dolls and NO FULLSETS! o___o
Though at this point, I have so many beautiful fullset dolls, I think I might as well start just getting what I need and ignoring the rest. I think there's a point when you just can't rationalize getting everything you want anymore.. unless you're rich I suppose xD

I'm going to ask the thing I know we've all already been talking about but.. tan... I'm sort of concerned about things like colour changes and so on. Think that will be an issue?
I'm the kind of person that DREADS the slow yellowing that happens with all dolls, so a tanned doll that suddenly went green or something would be BAD.

I've only seen one doll go green, I can't remember what it was, but it was a WS doll.. but it was weird hey.. I never worried about yellowing, but greening freaks me out.

I don't think most tans have done anything weird yet, from what I've seen from tan owners. The Godos seem to be going strong even after a year or so?

 

It's just the iplehouse real skin that goes green and terrifying then?

 

Apparently it does, I haven't seen it myself. I think the one I saw was an old CP ws body...

 

Iplehouse realskin are the worst for green that I've seen. But they've since changed their formula, so even they aren't that bad anymore (they do still fade, though).

From what I remember reading, the red pigment is the most fragile and the most likely to be bleached out by sunlight. So, if you have a doll that is mostly yellow under the tan, you'll end up with a tan>NS>yellow doll. If you have a doll that has some blue under the tan (to make it nice and browny-tanned, rather than straight orangey-tanned), you'll end up with a tan>greenish>green doll.

I haven't heard anything about Soom's tan being particularly delicate, though.

 

It does vary by tan, but tans like the ones produced by soom, iplehouse, cp, etc will eventually "green." The amount of red dye is just higher in them and it will happen, it may or may not be horrible though. The only really stable tan I've seen is narae's, and it's no darker than some companies ns so that's to be expected. It's just the nature of the thing. Urethane is becoming more stable, but nothing will stop aging, our ws dolls may all be lemon yellow in 10 years and our tans all hulk-green, lol. That's just what you're in for with resin. This isn't the sort of thing that's going to be startlingly apparent after a year of sitting in a dim, cool room.

 

Hello everyone! ^.^ I have seen both new Soom faun babies a few days ago and now I'm really soomed for the first time.
The problem is that I can't decide which one would suit my plans more: the tan one or the sweet white one...
I hope I'm able to sell my Miho until they are sold out...it would break my heart, you know! And I'm really happy and congrats to everyone who has ordered one of them! :3
Is there anywhere a thread which clothes they fit them? Does anyone has plans about faceup, eyecolour and hair? ^^ I'm so excited.

 

My other Soom Teenie fits Yo-sd/LittleFee clothes just nicely. And is wearing Leeke D wig.

As for my upcoming Ai, I'm thinking of ordering a double face-up (one for each head, then) from a Finnish face-up artist, just hoping she has slots ^-^. With her I ordered a pair of 14mm Soom eyes in Silentnight shade (which is very dark brown at least in the pics) and I've got an Yrie wig coming in a split. My little faun girl will be quite natural haired (brown and golds and blonds) and chocolate-eyed. As for clothing, she'll get all cute white and pink. Oh, can't wait to get her!

 

I know that I am planning to make my Ai, whom I have decided to name Orifiel, a nice forest looking outfit with leaves and gold chains and such. I am even hoping to put a cross on it so that she can play the "holy" part of things Oh and I would love to get her a violin.

 

I've been to a lot of meetups, and I can tell you firsthand that the only dolls that i've ever seen turn GREEN were old cp/luts WS, bambicrony WS, NS, Blue, etc.. and those iplehouse tans.

I myself have a very old tan volks doll that hasn't turned yellow OR green, but has lost some of his "tan". My oldest bbb tan turned 2 last haloween and is just a bit lighter than the new ones, and barely visible except in direct sunlight. (cause the color faded, not cause they changed the color)

They are a *tiny* bit skinnier than volks yo's, but pretty standard sized all around.

 

I did post in there before but I have to again.

They are very cute! So very cute and I'd love to get one but have no money. I do plan on getting the little tail once people start selling them in the market place, it would go well with the deer girl I am making.

I love the ears on the second head and kinda wish they were on the first head too. And to me the hooves look a bit fat, am I the only one who thinks this? It's not a bad thing but when I think of deer I think of skinner legs. They almost look like little mammoth legs, ah! A little mammoth girl would be so cute! |Rambles on|

Maybe they have baby fat? lol I mean I know deer fawns don't have big legs but these are part human. And everyone knows that some babies are kinda cubby. XD Gotta love a baby's butt and chubby legs. lol

Edit: So I don't have to double post. I just put the cute whiteskin on layaway today. ^^ I'll get my cute lil fawn to go with my Beyla. She will be in creams and gold with spots on her butt. XD

 

Hmm, well deer have huge haunches so I'm assuming they went with that for the thighs, the rest is just so you can actually balance the doll upright lol (and it gives a very chibi effect). I'm impressed with the sculpting on these legs though I'm still not a fan of the way the fur on the thighs is done. :/

 

Looks a tad more horsey, Clydesdale type-hoofs D; too much fur. but it's deal-able.

 

Mhmm, at least the fur is really well-done I wasn't a fan of the way glot/glati's looked.

 

I've noticed it looks like the "foot" part of the hooves aren't jointed, unless they just are very well covered lol. Dunno how that would effect certain poses. But if I somehow manage to get the pink one, I'm gonna make two dolls out of "her" just dunno if I'm gonna make the "human" one human or another form of glot/etc. they are just too adorable X.x I can imagine a storyline that'll go with her

 

I so don't know what I want....
I love the tan... But I'm worried about the trouble I'll have selling her parts if I dont like them ... plus getting a body for the 2nd head if I keep it ... hmmmm :\

Well for my birthday (coming up on the 6th) my girlfriend bought me Ai. I got everything but the faceups and blushing. I think it's awesome that Soom actually made them hermaphrodites. I can see the small bump (maybe it's my laptop resolution?) and I really don't think it's going to be too big if you're set on having a girl, and if you want a boy you're set.
I think the detailing is wonderful on the winnie dee legs and Ai stole my heart. Doesn't help that I'm born in January and deer are one of my favorite animals.

 

X3 I ordered my kids today! I have them on layaway. Can't waaaaait!

 

Well, it took Soom two years but they finally got me! I just put an Ai on layaway today; she's the first monthly tiny to really steal my heart I ordered the doll with faceups for both heads, wig, and outfit (too adorable!). She's also a little gift to myself in honor of the new year and a fresh start with a new job

Rinse that's awesome! I wanted an Amber sooooo bad as up until then she was the *only* SOOM doll I liked. Sadly nobody was employed so she slipped away and I can't afford her second hand mark up cost. On the bright side, I have little Keita coming home and I really can't wait. So glad that I can now -choose- to buy dolls first hand! Although I still haven't decided what to do about the weenie ones! I really want the tan, but I love the WS version too.. And I can't find the parts I want from the WS, so I might have to get the whole doll at this point on layaway >_<

If you want the body and both heads, wouldn't it make more sense for you to open your own split then just part with the fantasy parts? That seems much easier!

At any rate, you can't search for splits/advertise splits in this discussion rooms so, you'd be better off putting up a marketplace post!

These hooves seem no-where near as popular as the other hooves.. Either that or the heads are all so popular that everyone is buying in full rather than just parts XD

Lol, I think its a little bit of both. I love the hooves ... more than Glot/Glati's actually. And their face mold is so cute! I love the puff-puff lips and button noses .. definitely my fave tiny mds yet. ^_^

 

I couldn't narrow it down to one of them... I needed both. They're going to be part of of my Tiny Steampunk Crew. XD

 

Hmmm... I have a confession to make... Even though I have ordered Ai... I... I really wish that I could buy Afi too. Not that he is better, but that I love his chocolate tan XD I want him, but am now so broke I cannot even begin to afford him. *sigh*

I love both of them but I couldn't afford either of them actually >.> I was just *really* lucky my birthday is durring the order period and my girlfriend knew I wanted one after I showed her Amber about 2 months ago and how I was sad because I missed out. Otherwise I would've just had to watch them pass me by. Which would've been sadder than Amber beause I really don't have room for anything larger than an MSD.

 

Afi nearly got me... but couldn't find a body... So I went back to Ai.

Afi is sooo adorable though. Hopefully Soom will do more tan tinies in the future, as I don't think I can afford two Soom tinies right now.

 

Oh noooooo, my Dark layaway first payment will be more than I thought.. I hope I can still afford both these kids.. Especially now that I can't grab them on the second hand market anymore >_<

 

I entered a split for the Ai deer head and antlers! I'm so excited, I liked Amber, but I didn't really know much about Soom and their MD's till Cass ^^; But I got a Beyla, so I have a body to put this head on! xD I can't wait to get it home! The ears just killed me! THey're so cute! I wish I could have gotten the tail too, but it was already taken when I found the split, ah well :\ I'd like to get her hooves too, but it was just too much money

 

I'm really happy now! ^^ Upcoming week when my paypal account is uploaded with lots of money I will purchase Afi with the faceup on the open eyed head.
No blushing because I don't like it that much... My Afi will be a girly girl and I can't wait!
She will be my first tiny size. The hooves and everything is so awesome on both of them, you know. I must buy one of them.

Gahh I've decided I'm soomed for this one, I decided to buy Ai, with nothing as I'll work on her myself, but when i go to do layaway, I can't finish it ; ; It's not letting me go through the first payment. ><;; I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong as I'm going through the process as it says, but when it gets to the final click to finish payment it give me a blank or "empty" order page O.o...maybe they still on holiday ; ; gonna contact them ><;
