yeah that looks a little bit darker than previous pics. it could be soom just had a very light batch or different color/output settings. That makes me happy : )
but now I'm anxious because I want mine now but it's gonna be a long long while lol

 

That blue and white wig looks adorable on her, Raiisu! I can't wait to see what you do with her~

 

Ah, thanks guys! Yeah, it was a huge relief to see the color in person. I hope Soom resin batches come out more consisted for everyone who's still waiting on their centaurs ; v; can't wait to see more wonderful little gems, please post more! haha

TvT Annnd spam for the thread!~ I painted the antlers and horn for my Shale centaur, so I thought I'd share~
The bushes I have in my back yard are surprisingly proportionate to dolls. xD
Eventually i'll paint his legs, tail and neck/collarbone similar to this antlers and horn, but he's coming along at least~ u I really like him a whole lot 33

 

Gah Arkelle he looks so cool. I hope I can do something as neat with my Centaur when he gets here.

Arkelle he is GORGEOUS! I actually stopped what i was doing and shuffled my chair in to get a closer look. he is so darn pretty and i can't wait to see how you paint him! Whats the colour scheme you will use? Those lovely antlers are hard to see in the dark photo but I can pick out the sparkle on them

 

Sooo I got what I thought was my grail doll today from here on the MP, Maybe its just me but Mylo is incredibly photogenic. Not really a fan of the puckered lips when I hold the doll, but it's like a new sculpt when I see pictures of it lol.

I Got Niji (Soom Teschen) Some Human Feet. I Am Sad To Say I Like Him More As A Bunny. The Resin Is Not A Match So It Is Not A Big Lose That I Didn't Like Them On Him.

Gaiboizz: Hahaa what cute little feet! Though I agree, I prefer the bunny feet more. I love that wig.

TwT Raiisu pretty much nailed the idea that I have for him, that he has a night sky/galaxy theme to him~ He's pretty much going to be all black and white but with a bit of blue iridescence to play off his eyes. Basically just like his antlers and faceup xD

None of my boys have human parts attached unless they were human to start with, because I feel like they are being more themselves if they are the little fantasy creatures I fell in love with. I will say for the millionth time, crappy posing or not, I adore the LG bodies no matter what, and the ones that have human hands and feet are loved just the same haha!

Yeeeaaaaaaaaah! Got my Shale centaur today! I think I have to sand his hips it doesn't feel like his butt fits the horse body well.
How did you guys get the horn to stay on? The little hole and peg don't fit well either. XvX/
I'll get a photo of him after we blush his hooves and stuff.

 

Congrats Nattou! I don't have one of the centaurs, but my Shale's horn is just stuck on with some eye putty. It can get knocked off pretty easily but I'd rather have it come off than break if he fell, and it stays on just fine during normal shelf display. Plus it's nice to have it easy to pop off for putting clothes on him.

 

Nattou, yeah, I had the same problems with mine. The body seems too big for the centaur hip cavity, and it keep tilting to one side or the other. Sanding is definitely needed to get it to fit imo. I find that twist the horn around that sad little nub makes it stay on a lot better, but otherwise I'm considering elmer-gluing it in (not super glue though!).

 

>//w//< Oh, so many congrats Nattou! Please do post pictures when you can! o3o Hmm, its interesting about the human hips and its fit into the centaur body. My OE Shale (the default one for the centaur body) fits just fine for me, but i've heard/seen others who say that theirs doesn't fit so well either. When I was swapping parts with my Trond, I noticed the fit issue for myself, but at the time I thought it was due to Soom slightly altering the hips of LGs specifically for the centaur body, but it looks like that isn't the case if the default torso piece that comes with the centaurs sometimes has this problem as well. Hmm, I should test to see how my original release R. Shale fits onto the centaur body too...
Oh! And about the horn, I noticed the one for my centaur was considerably looser fitting than for my R. Shale. Regardless, what I ended up doing for both of them was coating their horns with a few layers of gloss. It looks pretty unnoticeable by itself (though I put pretty iridescent powder in mine xD) but really its the texture of it/ adding a little bit more thickness which makes the horns stay on amazingly. Thats just me though. ;3; Not sure if you planned on painting yours or not. Eye putty probably would work too, but i'd stick to a very light color or it will likely show through the clear resin a bit at certain angles. >___< Definitely don't glue it in though, you'll regret that.

 

Ahah, yeah, I use white sticky tack as my eye putty, and gently scrape away any that squishes out when I stick the horn in, so it's not really noticeable. I just use a small dot of putty in the horn cavity, in the space where there isn't the nub.

 

Yeah I figured I would just use some eye putty. Gaah i'm nervous about sanding a doll, I don't want to overdo it or something so I'll probably make my brother do it, he's helping me blush his parts right now. We'll take some photos when we're done.
I really like the face up he came with, soom uses some pretty cool looking eyelashes I think, they're not crazy thick.

I have not yet completely strung my centaur since I do not want to screw anything up while his hips do not fit so I am waiting for next weekend to sand him at a meet up with others with more experience.
We blushed his parts, P-Aei did all of the yellow, and I did all of the orange over it.
I have the LUTS satyresse body in Real Skin White so I took some photos of that with the torso part of my Shale. I hope it helps? XvX/
The LUTS resin is a just little bit more peach-y, which you can see on the photos to the right. But in my opinion, I think they are both very close. But I haven't seen many resin colors. xD

Nattou-- Nice job with the blushing. What did you use for the clear resin parts?

Good luck with the sanding. If you're hand-sanding, it takes quite a lot before you take much off, so if you go slowly, you should be fine.

SO! It turns out this doll I was talking about is going to be a boy!!! So I came up with a goofy back story for him because he will be quite pretty!
lets just say he will have trouble with both guys and girls hitting on him! HAHAHA!!!

Has soom started giving gifts to people who buy dolls or were they a=only doing that for a while or what? Does anyone know?

 

I got my Soom FCE girl last month. There was no gift. But I think they might during special events and/or if they are very late/delayed. My girl was neither.

 

Are you saying you got an extra piece? I got two extra heads with my Shale girl, but it was a mistake. If you've gotten something extra please go to the soom website and create a ticket asking for help.

 

Soom were adding extra wigs or bits of clothing into orders a while ago, probably to clear out some old stock. I'm not sure if they're still doing it.

 

They only seem to do it if they have a backlog of things to hand out. I used to get things once in a while, but not on the last batch of dolls from them.

I got a new doll but haven't checked all the little packages it had wrapped in bubble wrap. I don't think I got anything extra.

 

Nattou--ADORABLE!!! Particularly love how the wig and eyes go with his color. And the color is lovely... a sort of marigold yellow. There really aren't enough yellow-colored dolls, I think. So nice and cheery! Can't help but smile a bit and feel good about life with that little guy around!

 

Gaiboizz: hahahaa niji is so sweet. I think I might have to find a pair of legs for my Mylo/teschen too since my mom has adopted him and dressed him as a her lol. I wonder if she would like having a human option.

Im happy my little pink centaur its traveling to me, soom send it yesterday so im supouse that the next week will be arrive.

 

He just looks amazing, I especially love the eyes the most, I keep just starring at them. It goes well with the face up and wig. ^^ ~
