@Ouja Akuma I've been buying off of Taobao regularly for 2+ years now. I don't know a lick of Chinese and I use the google translate method. I've found it reliable enough. Yes, it requires a little bit of extra effort, but worth it for the prices.

There's also Moonlighthouse bjd which sells clothes in ID75 size from some Chinese clothing makers, but expect to pay near double the original amount.

There's also Freedomteller, but again you're going to pay a premium for their clothes.

@Ennui Yes, google translate app is great. I even used it to have conversations with some sellers on TB. The TB phone app has a chat feature and there's been times when I've needed to contact a seller or a seller has contacted me. So, what I do is I'll take a screenshot of my phone screen using the built in screenshot function, then go over to the google translate app, click on the "camera" function, then "import" and what that does is that allows me to select the screenshot picture I just took and then google will then translate all of the text.

 

Hello all, this might be a redundant question, but does anyone have recommendations for eye sizes for Soom Garion with also iris size measurements? I'm snagged a Garion through secondhand and am EXCITEDD, but just going to prepare researching his concept I saw some folks mentioning that his eye sockets were hard to fit eyes in?

 

IDs all use 14mms, and some heads will fit 16mm too but mostly 14mm. My personal favourites are 14/4 and 14/5 but anything from 14/4-7 will work depending on what you like.

 

I put 14/6? in mine when I had him--sorry for the not-super-useful distance shot, I didn't take enough pics of him!

I have not and I guessed they probably have high order volumes.

 

I haven’t received mine! I was also under the assumption that they had a high volume of orders and I did order on the last day so I figured I’d be one of the last to get one. LOL

 

Hi~ new owner of ID75 here xD

I ordered Hyperon for my Free Choice in December last year. (I got my first Soom/ID75, Shoshon also in December ). But this is my first time doing layaway with Soom (which was complete early Feb) . So I am just wondering ... How many days is the typical wait time?

 

I've done layaway with Soom before, ordered in November and made final payment the end of January. It took two months, and I received the doll around mid March! But this was back in 2018, I am not sure how their wait times are now, but maybe a 2-4 month wait time?

 

I think they may be a little backlogged
I am waiting on River.
I did ask them about shipping and got this reply :

"Normally our dolls will be shipped in 60~90 days after your full payment day,
but it does not mean you have to wait 90 days more from your full payment day for the order,
because most of the orders with the layaway payment will be shipped earlier than expected shipping schedule since they have been in production after your payment was made.

We will do the best to ship your order as soon as we can."

No, they've released it before for Grim Reaper River.

However they don't normally release such fantasy colours for non LEs, so this is a gorgeous surprise. If it wasn't for the fact there were no jointed hands and I simply do not like VZak that much, I would have bought him. If it was Hyperon or Amor I would've slapped buy faster than light could travel LOL.

I did however buy the outfit, lmfaom

 

The new outfit is so gregarious. It went out faster than I thought and I was not able to get it.

 

Gave my boy a face and went with 14/5mm eyes♥ (Sorry for huge photo, not sure why imgur uploads it so big...)

 

It depends on the QTY released and the style, but mostly fantasy ones sell out within 30mins to 1 hour after release. Since SOOM doesn't tell when release time is exactly, sometimes if you just unlucky you can completely miss it.

I was lucky and saw the announcement on twitter about 1 minute after. So I was able to buy it quickly.

Anyone get a doll from the 2021 Idealian FCE event ? it was where they had a choice of the older sculps, ie Branon, Dover, Pangen, Galway and Aragon.
I am curious to see what the heads look like on the taller body.

So...I asked about mine a few days ago since I'm the lunatic that hit them with memes for 10 months for a basic Hyperon release. And I had my order in within four minutes of the FCE opening, that puts me at 106 days now (fully paid 12 days later, so 94 from full payment), but I've heard there's been another surge in South Korea. So I wonder if it's not a little bit of supply delay, fewer hands on deck, and just being buried with orders.

TL;DR they ARE behind, they know, they're trying to get orders out as fast as they can but it sounds like they got slammed from that FCE. It's Soom though, they'll get it done, they always do.

Mmm these latest batches of tawny are just such a nice color. And the faceup on that Lim is fantastic! Arrival photos make waiting a tiny bit more bearable.

I’ve still got nothing (101 days from full payment now), but I’m happy to see some progress on FCE shipments! I hope he gets through shipping super quickly for you.

 

Thank you! I message them and they told me that they have a lot of orders during the event and they said they will ship my boy the following week. After that I got a shipping notice.

 

Yeah I asked a week and a half ago and got basically the same that they had gotten a LOT of FCE orders so they were running a little behind. I don’t think I’ve ever hit 100+ days from full payment with them though, so this was unexpected. My dilemma is I booked him a faceup slot that I’m concerned might be a little too optimistic given the production delay.

 

Does anyone have good stores for these big boys? I want to get a gift outfit for a friend, but I don't want to support shady stores.

 

Sadol and FreedomTeller are good sources.

I find their clothing excellent for the price point and they seem to cater to ID75 exclusively!

 

Freedomteller is top notch, but the prices reflect that. Sadol is a little less of a wallet punch depending on what you’re looking at but also excellent. I’ve had good luck with some of the Chinese dealers on Etsy, just long shipping times. And while I haven’t bought from Koibito, they do have some really nice stuff and with that recommendation above I’ll absolutely be giving them a try soon.

I have lots of Koibito clothes and second that recommendation. I also love clothes from Tron for Dolls.

I do not mind paying for quality. My friend is more of the fantasy collector. I saw Sadol has some beautiful outfits, but are sold out. Do they have certain order periods?

And is there any commission seamstress/tailors that are a must bookmark if I just want to have something made?

 

If you know how to use TaoBao it's literally swarming with ID75 clothes more than you can even imagine and buy. It's basically the most standard large boy size and you'll not have trouble finding just about anything.

Sadol and Freedom Teller both have periodic ordering periods for their items so sold out isn't really sold out most of the time for their normal lines. It just means its not an order period more than not atm.

 

I really need to learn how to use Taobao but god I feel like that’s a Pandora’s box of “oooh I need that, oh and this” repeat. lol But I know there’s a wealth of ID75 goods on there…

And yeah Sadol has some actual limited things, and regular stock items that just may be out of stock currently. FreedomTeller is basically the same.

 

If you like fantasy I would recommend none other than Black Saturn (blacksaturn.kr) - you won't find anything better than that in that regard.

But if you want a lot of clothes, TB is the way to go. There's also many independent Korean dealers as well as ID75 is also a very popular size in Korea.

I've been so busy with life stuff that I haven't caught up on anything doll related. And of course the perfect doll, Wenzel, has to slip out of my grasp. OTL Another grail doll to add to the list, I suppose

@lucylanger i would recommend that you look on Instagram for moonlightbjdhouse. They are Taobao agent for North America and they have many fantasy outfits on the website. I bought doll and doll’s furniture from them and my experience with them is positive.

I snagged a red Garion on time nly to have Soom tell me my order was canceled.

They gave me the typical Soom vague answer so who knows I definitely ordered a few minutes before the sold out sign was on him and I'm pretty upset (and angry?) to be honest. They couldn't even grant me a real answer.

 

I really like the companies they rep, but their markup is huge—an MSire wig they sell for $84 is $40 from Clover Singing. They also do her forgot or ignored one of my emails for multiple months when they owed me a refund over an artist cancelling something, and didn’t get in touch with me until I went to the artist directly. There’s also some massive shipping overcharges people have talked about in their feedback thread on insta.

It you’re looking for stuff off Taobao, Clover singing has a way, way lower markup, replies to emails promptly, and their shipping is free over $100 iirc. They can also get anything off taobao that you see listed on other reseller sites (like moonlight) which they did with a body. And Christina refunds you basically immediately if something is sold out or she can’t get it to you, and sends you an email.

I do not know that Moonlightbjdhouse charges more for the items. Maybe because I only bought two items from them.

 

Me too, I had gotten a successful order notice then it got canceled!! In my case, I selected layaway, so I’m wondering if the extra clicks needed to go through with that made me too slow or if they prioritized full payments; either way, I’m sad but taking it as a sign to wait for a more fantasy sculpt to be released (namely not a human head despite the cool, “fantasy” red resin Garion was)!

 

Is anyone getting the new guy, Edgar? I am not myself, but I did grab a set of the clothes (I'm Desi so I couldn't help myself ). Hopefully the order went through though and it isn't canceled later!
