Thanks. I'm quite pleased at how they turned out. Rhas-Khan's wig bugs me a little because it's just so MUCH hair. I think the only way to reduce it would be to have a custom dread wig made. His wig is a Monique Reeva.

 

@Iron_Dog - It would be cool to see a custom dread wig, but I really like this thick hair wig too. Eilam must like it too, he's grabbing a few locks of it in that photo, haha.

 

I wrote a little ficlet of some hair care for when one of their stories was released by my publisher at the time. Mutual Grooming is a tick under 600 words and PG-13 at best for mentions of nudity (but nothing graphic). It's more a fluffy piece: Discretion Advised

 

@Iron_Dog - Great story, so cool. Is this from a real book you published?

 

Glad you enjoyed it. The story of Rhas-Khan/Eilam that was published is called Into The Heart Of The Abyss and yes, it was published with a real publisher. The one I linked you too was something I did as a promotional thing for their story. That story has reverted back to me so I've posted it to my author journal as a free read. There's another novella and a short story posted to the same place with them as well.

I do have a full novel planned for Rhas-Khan/Eilam but other characters in the Divine Worship world have been demanding my attention. Mostly Ondraeden/Valerian, Saraf/Edenlei and Fei-Lau/Sleet/Khale. And yes, I have all of them as dolls, too, although only Ondreaden is OT for this thread.

Additionally, I'm under contract to produce a chapter/month for another novel, Escape Velocity, that takes place in a completely different world and time (The Dream Time world). All of my published novels have had the rights revert back to me and I should probably start hunting down a new publisher that would be willing to take them (my previous publisher closed down).

 

@Iron_Dog - Nice you have all your characters as bjds. Can you post a photo of Ondraeden and Valerian?
That's cool you have published works. I hope you can find a new publisher.

 

Thankfully, no, not all my characters demand resin shells. I'd be overrun (more than I am) if that was the case.

@Iron_Dog - They look so cool. I really like how Ondraeden eyes are glowing. Is Valerian's wig blue or is that just the lighting?

 

Thanks. It's just the lighting (and my camera colour correcting when it shouldn't *sigh*). His wig is black and Vale is actually grey resin not the nearly white he appears in the photo.

 

Looks like nobody here is getting Zak 51cm? Idealian Studio has released some more photos of him in casual clothing on Instagram... these photos has confirmed that I dont like the faceup. It's too feminine. What a shame since i would love to give 51cm a go.

 

I like him better in that picture but I have been bad this week.

I looked, too, and didn't see him either. Not that I should be looking for another new doll right but I have recently purchased a Batchix Dark Elf and he's looking for a love interest so....

Oh, I need him now that you've confirmed he's an elf. Haha. Is tawny like a red toned normal resin? What colour would you say it is?

 

Tawny is often a shade of tan for Soom, I think. I really like the Hyperon sculpt. I almost bought him once before. Arrrrgh! Soom, why are you intent on killing my wallet?

 

I have the Hyperon Elf Vamp in SG size. love him. would really like a white version 51cm.

@xyuemoto tawny I would say is a light red tan?
like pale skin that got suntanned, and the tan is fresh because it has no olive undertones

Its similar to peach gold by Iplehouse but its a bit browner. Its lighter than the picture on Soom in person

Tawny is a very pretty color, in my opinion. It has enough red to look natural but you wouldn't say red when you see it. Here is my Tawny Cuba with Aria Blair

It's a light tan that is more red than gray, if that helps. It's very beautiful in person!

It's still a brown tone. But it's a very warm tan brown.

it's light brown, more on the pink side vs. yellow. ages very well with little change in my experience.
here it is with normal. if you get your monitor to show the white wig and the whites of the eyes true white, you can judge the skin color better.

I saw on Idealian's instagram that the upcoming 51 Hyperon is going to be limited edition quantity 20 full set. Is this how they usually release 51s? Will they eventually release just the standard doll? I was very interested in this guy but I don't want him as full set. T_T Any idea how much full set 51s cost?

 

No, they usually offer the doll and clothes separately. They may release an unlimited version without the special outfit also. They frequently do. Cost? Not sure!

 

I'd be another that wouldn't want the fullset as it wouldn't fit my plans (should I be crazy enough to click the buy button) and it would deeply bother my little miserly heart to pay for stuff I don't need (my other ID51's wouldn't wear the clothes either).

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca - Ok. I hope they do. I don't want this military theme, if it was elf themed like the ID75 forest monarach I'd probably want it haha.

@Iron_Dog - I don't want to pay for it either. I would never use that outfit nor the wig. I don't care to deal with trying to sell the stuff either.

 

@xyuemoto Yeah, I have enough random wigs/eyes/etc. and really don't need to be adding to the collection of stuff I don't use (and am too lazy to post for sale).

 

If we start to comments on their instagram and ask for a normal release of ID51 they might listen to us. Otherwise they will only release the limited full set. Happened in the past. Hyperon looks gorgeous in ID51. But i really cant tell the difference of him and the past release of Zak 51 in a military outfit. I have this feeling this is a sailor/captain outfit that was really popular and got sold out. But i dont want this outfit as it will hike up the price up.

Forest Monarch with extra fanged head full set I'd go for, but not normal human admiral. Too many other, bendier dolls that size to choose from.
lots of Zaks lately. Time to update that body and bring out some new faces.

 

Wait, is Zak and Hyperion the same face sculpt? I can't tell (I'm faceblind) but I always thought they were different sculpts. Was I tricked by a different face-up on the same face?

 

No, they are different sculpts. Soom is pretty good about keeping a name with a sculpt.

It wouldn't be the first time I failed to recognize a sculpt. The worst was when I was at a local meet and saw a doll I thought was gorgeous. I asked the owner what sculpt it was only to find out that it was not only a sculpt I owned (Angel Toast Crow), I had actually brought that doll with me to the meet and he was sitting next me to the whole time.

Idealian only releases one 51 a year, right? I guess I'll be waiting a long time for them to do another one that I actually like (and hopefully it's not full set only).

 

There were five ID51 releases in 2011, three in 2012, two in 2014, one in 2016, one in 2017 and one in 2018. I didn't count the centaur releases as the human version was also offered. Some of those years were very quiet on all releases. I believe this is the first full set ID51!

Soom does listen to customer requests so be sure to let them know what you want on the Q&A board! They might still release just the doll with or shortly after the full set.

summer doll money. Now, if he had an extra fanged head....yes.

 

The outfit is beautiful but not something that I'd use. He's gorgeous but I'm thinking I'm safe from him if they release him as just the doll as I've been eyeballing another doll. I have to use some restraint with my dolly spending considering how much I've already spent this year and the amount of face-ups I need to get done. My wallet is weeping softly in a corner already.

 

I asked about non full set release on the Q&A.

Their response: "We have release plan for the ID51 in this year, but unfortunately nothing has been decided for the details now."

So maybe they have yet to do a normal idealian 51 release this year? If they get to it.

 

That's a more positive response than they usually give. Usually they just say they'll pass the suggestion on to the design team.

 

I generally run like hell from military uniforms, but the Little Admiral fullset calls to mind Napoleon Bonaparte, who doesn't freak me out the way modern dictators do. If I had the money I would be seriously tempted, especially considering Hyperon's slightly pointy ears.

Im the opposite, I love the oufit, hat and boots, just not the doll himself (Love hyperon, but not in that size)

I wish they sold them separately. They always sold them separately so Im not sure why this sudden bundle

The navy suit for ID75 sold quick, so maybe that is why, and make it an incentive to get the ID51. Plus it seems the ID51's are one per person, because I cant check how many sold since I cant increase the amount

I'm intrigued by this line and I'm happy it looks like Soom is still making them (albeit slowly!). Have they ever done a free choice event for the 51s? I would love the chance to order Zinc~

There has never been a free choice event for ID51. There have only been two for ID72&Megagem. There were "rules" for what was included in a free choice event Since Soom seems to have changed policies and I don't expect to see another free choice event. If you want a particular doll, send a message to Soom on the Q&A board. You will get a vague response but they do tally the requests!

 

Yes, I concur about the request thing. Soom reps were at either Dollism Buffalo or DollNorth (I can't remember which), and during the Q&A part of their panel I asked if they were ever going to bring back/have a FE for the Azur merbody. At that time, they said they had no plans to re-release that body. Fast forward a couple of years and they released a new version of him. I didn't buy simply because I purchased a completely different doll (DC Clemans) to be the mer character I needed when I thought he would be out of my reach.

If Soom were to do a FE and Hyperon ID51 was up and available in either grey or tanned, my wallet could be in serious trouble. I still kick myself for not jumping on the last order for him but Soom was doing a FE for the tinies at pretty much the same time and Azur was listed. I was waiting to hear back from them on whether or not the mer body was available (it wasn't) and the order period for the Hyperon closed before I heard back. My wallet was super happy about that as I bought nothing.

And I totally forgot to post this here. I got Sancire (London Steam Engine Rider) back from the face-up artist this week. I'm so happy with how he turned out. He looks completely different to me from Ondraeden (London the Moor) even though they're the exact same sculpt/resin colour. This is Sancire with his husband, Liroshan (Granado Lucifer 53).

The ID51 free choice is coming, I am interested in getting the centaur, since I didn't find body measurements, I asked SOOM, that makes sense right? However I got this reply:

I am in complete shock.
Does anyone have body measurements of ID 51 centaur? Please send help TvT
