Resin Comparison Some brown resin comparisons (Luts, Little Monica, Bluefairy, Souldoll, Withdoll, Volks)

Here's a little comparison of various brown dolls. None of them match but personally I love the resulting variety . Quite a few of them were limited skin colors so they aren't necessarily readily available.

I've included basic NS and WS dolls for comparison as well because most people are more familiar with these resin colors.

As anyone that's ever photographed brown dolls can tell you it is very hard to capture the true resin color especially the red undertones.I noticed the exact same goes for WS dolls. The Little Monica WS has a very clear pinkish undertone which gets just as lost on pictures . I feel like NS and WS also photograph differently but because we are so used to these resin colors our brain already knows how to interpret the colors on pictures.
Regardless I tried to match the colors as close to the real life color as possible.

Personally I love how different the available brown resins are but it comes with it's own challenges. I've learned to always order all available extra parts .

Funnily that was actually the skin tone I was most disappointed with. In the beginning I really didn't like how red/purple she was. It looked very unnatural to me. Absolutely not what I had expected. She was only my second brown doll and it was a bit of bad luck that she doesn't look good next to my first brown doll (KDF Kale in tan from Luts, the one on the right). They bring out each others undertones when you put them next to each other. Rosy brown becomes almost purple and the tan looks very olive.

But I spend a lot of time with her and I have found that while there are some colors that just don't suit her (red and pink) she looks stunning in warm greens and blue. And mentally I have accepted and embraced her red/purple undertones as one of the many variations of brown skin tones.
