So new

Nov 18, 2024

    1. Hi, I'm completely new to BJDs. I stumbled on them accidently and had to Google "what does bjd stand for?" That led to reading a huge FAQ and looking up a lot of information. It's only been a week, but I've found it all so enchanting. Now I'm here, trying to narrow down what I want my first BJD to be. It's been a while since I've been this excited about a hobby.

    2. Welcome to DoA! It's so exciting discovering all this for the first time - I hope you find a doll you like!

    3. Welcome!
I got into the hobby a very long time ago when there were much fewer makers around. I can't imagine how overwhelming it must be to try to get an overview of the hobby in all it's current vastness, but it must be wonderful fun as well! There is so much to chose from and such diversity.

      I hope you'll like it here! :)

    4. Yeah, there is definitely a lot! I've enjoyed looking around so far. I've gotten a lot of big ideas, but I'm trying not to just rush in. Asleep Eidolon and Xaga are my favorites so far.

    5. Reading up a lot before jumping in is a smart thing to do. This is a research heavy hobby, dolls are expensive and wait times can be long, so it's a bit of an investment. But it's fun too.

Asleep Eidolon and Xaga are both great companies. I am currently considering a few of AEs mature tinies, but I haven't decided completely yet. I normally collect mostly MSD-sized dolls, but I have a few mature tinies as well and it's a very fun size to work with.

Best of luck in finding the right doll!

    6. Welcome to DOA. It is the most popular BJD forum.
