What SMASH! is
The SMASH! is kind of a smart abbreviation for The Sydney Manga and Anime Show. SMASH! is an annual celebration of Japanese pop culture through a variety of activities such as cosplay, panels, games, BJD and Maid Cafe.

BJD Display Table
There will be a display table available again this year for you to showcase any of your dolls as long as it falls into the ABJD definition. Dollfie Dreams are welcomed!

Trading table
A new addition to the BJD display area, if you have anything to sell or trade this table is for you. Please keep it BJD related.

BJD Competitions

BJD Photography

Think you’re an excellent BJD photographer? Pit you skills against others and show your photography skills and creativity with the BJD photography competition!
THEME: Light and Shadow
PRIZES:
1st Prize – Leekeworld Lion, ($550)
2nd Prize – 2 Leekeworld wigs

RULES

• The photography must be taken by you, and of a doll you personally own. Where there is more than one doll in the photo, at least one or more must be your own and you must have permission from the other BJD owners to submit your entry into the competition.
• Photo editing programs (such as Photoshop, Picasa, etc&#8230 may be used to enhance your original photo, but please note that this competition focuses on photography, not photo manipulation.
• Remember that SMASH! is a PG-event and all submissions must conform to the Code of Conduct.
• Photos should not be older than 12 months.
• No text on the image please.
• You may submit a maximum of 3 photographs to the competition.
• Technical Requisites:
  • Images should be saved in High Quality (75% or higher) .jpg format.
  • Images must be at least 200 dpi.
  • File size per image should be no larger than 3mb.

DEADLINE
11:59pm, July 6, 2012.
Winners announced on the day of SMASH! itself, on Saturday, July 14.
HOW TO ENTER

• Attached (all) photo(s) unzipped/zip/rar to your email.
• Title as “BJD Photography Competition Entry”
• Body should have your:
  • Full name, email, mobile number (to contact you on the day of SMASH!)
  • If you have no mobile, keep yourself communicable by email at least.

Crafting

Crafting is a new competition being introduced this year!
THEME: Hats and All
Get creative and put together an accessory that is worn on the head, hair or face; for example, masks, hair accessories, hats, fascinators, headdresses.
There is a limited two-colour palette; Black & White, Black & another colour, or White & another colour.

PRIZES:
1st Prize – Leekeworld Reika, ($380)
2nd Prize – 2 Leekeworld Wigs
HOW TO ENTER
Bring in your creation on the day of SMASH! and approach one of our friendly BJD assistants.
RULES

• The object can form part of an overall outfit, but will be judged on its own.
• Although limited to two colours, you can use different shades within those colours (for example, an item might use one shade ofwhite and three shades of purple, or three shades of black and one green)
• Machine made components (eg: pre-fabricated flowers, bows, fastenings) may form part of your item, but the design and creation must be yours. Judging will be based on originality, overall aesthetics, use of the theme, and display of crafting techniques.

Best Dressed

Does your BJD have what it takes?
THEME: Light and Shadow
Splitting the display in two, will your BJD join us in a fluffy place in the clouds, or will he/she rather lurk in the shadows of a graveyard? Come in your best angelic outfit, or come dressed as something that lurks from the shadows of nightmares.
HOW TO ENTER:
Just approach one of our friendly BDJ assistants in the display area.
RULES

• Remember that SMASH! is a PG-event and all submissions must conform to the Code of Conduct.
• You can only enter a BJD you own. If you are doing this on behalf of a friend, he/she must contact us directly to let us know you are entering on their behalf.

1st Prize – 2 Leekeworld wigs
2nd Prize – 1 Leekeworld wig

Lucky Draw

Feeling lucky? Participants of the BJD display will be entered into our lucky draw.
Lucky Draw prizes will be handed out at the BJD Display, so please be in attendance when we commence the draw. Prizes will be redrawn until we reach someone who is at the display table at the time of draw.
Time of the draw will be announced at a later date.

PRIZES: Three Leekeworld wigs will be given away!
