Small or Short Boys - under 60cm

Not sure on his exact height but Volks Magical Michael is shorter than all their other SD10 boys.

 

elfdoll boys are supposedly a little short as well

 

The new Obitsu boy bodies are announced to come out at 55cm.

 

I've held an Elfdoll Wu, and he's DEFINITELY shorter.

 

angelregion's boys stand at 57cm as well.

Yes the DollTi boys - 'D', Woo Yan and Moo Yan are 57cm high (inc. head) but i think they are sold out now. You would have to check the website or eBay to see if any new boys are available.

 

Not sure O_o But they list their girl body at 60cm, so I'm assuming it's the same with their boy. ^^;;

 

so, I have an SD10 boy, and he is the shortest of my big dolls, and I hear Angel Region Fair boys are really short too, but other than those 2, I have no clue where other companies' boy bodys measure up. I have seen some comparison pictures, but most do not include newer companies. so, does anyone know about any exceptionally short boys I haven't found yet?

 

My Dollti D is 58 cm.

I just got my Elfdoll Red this morning and he measures in at 22.5" which is roughly 57cm, about the same as my Angelregion boys.

 

Red's only 57cm? That would make him shorter than Rainy girls are! (Unless they changed the girl bodies since my 59cm Soah was cast.)

That aside... Raam is 57cm, also.

Yep! I think I remember someone who had both Wu and one of the girls saying he was actually shorter. I don't have any of the girls so I can't say for sure though. I knew he was going to be short, which is partially why I got him, but I didn't expect him to be this short. lol It works out really well for his character though anyway.

 

Nobility Lie is pretty short and skinny, definitely bigger than MSD but still shorter than the usual SD. There's Ryoma now too, but for some reason Luts is just selling him as a head only, when you can't buy the bodies seperately yet AFAIK. O__o

 

Yep, NT Kai's a short tanned boy. He's actually much closer to 57cm than 58 too. (57.15 to be exact) The one linked to is a good price too. He's limited to 30, but he seems to pop up on the market an awful lot.

 

There's Volks SD10, AngelRegion Fair, and Serendipity (there maybe another, but I don't remember).

I have a Chiwoo head on a Serendipity body (it's around 58cm), because his character is only around 5'5"-5'6" and those long shaply CP legs just weren't doing it for him. The fit was excellent--no modding necessary, though the resin match is off (color doesn't personally bother me--it's the sculpt and height that must be right! Ha ha ha). The AR Fair body is slimmer than the other two, so the head or neck may need modding to fit, and depending on the size of the head, it may be a bit small.

If you want to mod a girl body, you might want to look for girls that are less curvy (in the hips, the breasts would be taken off anyway), though all the less curvy girls I can think of off the top of my head are 60cm--However, there may be a good candidate for modding out there if you look around.

 

Oh, I'm interested in this too. I like my magical michael (he was my first bjd too) but the sd10 body is not flexible enough (no waist joint) so he doesnt pose as well as the others. but i like his height in comparison so would love to know what else is out there.....

I'm not quite sure. I'd like to get a Serendipity body but I want to know which of the skin tones matches better. I'd prefer a normal colour skin but white works for the character I have.

 

Volks SD-10! I have one, and it is shorter than standard CP height.

well...there is always a Nobility Lie - when on the regular body (not their emotion body) he's only 57cm tall - love mine to bits.

Well, the obitsu boy that's coming out is a quaint 55cm with a head; [andonceyougoobitsu,younevergoback] of course it keeps getting pushed back, but there are actually pictures out now on parabox's Japanese site, so... *Shrug*

Dollzone MSD's are also taller then your average MSD at...45.5cm, I think? They're both really well priced at 200-ish, so they're worth taking a look at. :3

AR Boys are pretty short. I know for a fact Allern/Allen measures just over 57CM.

 

Serendipity has a 58cm (I think it's 58--it might be 57), and Volks SD10's are around the same size.

Angel Region SD boys are a fair bit smaller I believe. Comparing him to my other SDs (Delf, SD17, DoT, LatiRed) he's a good deal shorter and quite a bit smaller overall than the others...

 

I have a Nobility Boy body, because it's shorter than most boy bodies and I needed a short boy body for a short boy character. I'm talking about the old Nobility body and not the "rotating peen" emotion body. I can't say much about a possible resin match, though. I have a very yellowed BW Nobility body.
The website says the old body is 57 cm, probably one of the shortest SD boy bodies around. You may also mod a short girl body into a boy body, if you don't mind curvy hips.

 

I am having the same dilema with my Hyde head, because he is going to be with minimee ville who is like almost a foot taller!

Modding a girl body into a boy would be gross for a hyde head IMO, its fine for a tiny female head, but, yuck. hyde does not have those hips, thank god.

I am wishing for a lovely china made inexpensive one. So I just might have to deal with there not being much of a differnce........

 

Well, AR Fairs are listed at 58cm and Glorydolls are listed at 56.5cm. I don't know how helpful that is, but I tried.

 

AngelRegion SD's are a tiny bit shorter than Eldoll boys so that would probably work well for you. Also the AR resin is simialar to most other brands. ^__^

 

I'm glad this topic came up. I need a really short SD or a really tall mini. If only there was a body around 50cm--that would be perfect for me : P (Trying to get a character in scale with his SO who already has a body)

Serendipity makes a 58cm body--I have it for one of my boys and am very pleased with it. It has swivel joints in the thighs so he can sit cross-legged, and has a nice weight and feel.

 

The shortest SD boy would be an SD boy body with the short legs that SD girls use.

Anyway, the question is - which male body of around SD sized is smallest? My zaoll girl is only 52cm, and id like eventually to get a male doll of a suitable size to keep her company, but i think the standard 60cm dolls would just be too big in comparision. Any boys out there slightly smaller than normal? 55-57cm maybe? Or is it just a pipe dream?

 

SD10 and Glorydoll Louis is about 55cm-ish.

CP type 3 bodies are also shorter than SD13 long-leg.

 

The old Elfdoll boys were only 58cm instead of 60cm? You'd have to use the Marketplace to buy the old body, though, as ED doesn't sell the shorter-legged body anymore.

The next closest are non-urethane options. They're made of the same (or similar) plastic as barbies called obitsu. They have 55cm tall boys. And 48cm tall girls, if you don't mind that. Other than it being easier to stain, lighter and to me have thinner limbs, I think they're alright.

Yep...can confirm that the original Elfdoll boys came on a 58cm body. I have Wu on the old-style body...it's a nice body..muscular like a little bantam-weight boxer. The newer Elfdoll bodies are 62 or 63cm. A friend of mine has Mir and he definately seems lankier and slimmer than my Wu. If you want a Wu just for a Wu he's a wonderful doll...if you just want the body, than yes, his resin is very yellowish. If he were a real person I'd say that he was olive-skinned.

 

You said boy, but a lot of people modify the Zaoll girls (52cm) from dollmore to be boys Otherwise, the only 55cm boy I know of offhand is the Obitsu boy.

I hope to give this a little bump up to see if there's been anything new coming out recently that I might have missed Still on the search for two 50-55cm-ish boys (or girls modded to boys) to complete my crew.

Also, I've recently fallen in love with the new K-doll Kasis head and from what I can tell it's a bit petite, anyone know if it might possibly fit proportionally on one of the smaller bodies, perhaps the Junior Delf as it's a bit slimmer?

 

My guess is that the head height might be a little long for a 56cm doll, but on the other hand, luts is claiming their junior delfs have a 9in head while kasis is 8in. and K-doll does say their heads work on sd10 size. The biggest concern, I would think, is the head matching well with the width of the neck. There are comparisons with the delf and junior delf on the luts site and I *think* the main difference is in their arms and legs but I'm not certain.

I would suggest taking this question to the k-doll resin thread... maybe someone who has a junior delf can tell you how a k-doll might work with it.

I have a soom gem called Namu he is pretty small when I stand or put him anywhere near any of my other boys. This is sooms photo of him -
He is skinner than my boys too so can be so hard to find clothes for. I would say that he is very tiny in the hands, feet and overall size. I tend to keep him sitting as next to DIM sd, Bobobie sd, dollfamily sd size he is very small generally. He would make a great teenage boy. I do love my boy he is great but very feminine if thats makes sense!!

So bumping this up once more in hopes there may yet again be something out there I have missed. The role of my shorty short boy has been assigned to an MSDoll head which is unfortunately a rather large head at just over a 9inch diameter and so it's getting really difficult finding a short body that isn't super slim/childlike like the Zaoll girls or the Junior Delf boys. I'd hoped either the DollnDoll or Glorydoll bodies would work but alas they also have rather narrow shoulders and would look strange.

So bumps in hopes for ANY other under 60cm body that might be a little more thickset and have wider shoulders.

Anywhoot, I'm trying to find out what companies/sculpts have boy dolls in the 50cm-ish range. I think 55cm may be too large but 43cm is slightly too small. Oy!

Other than the Bobobie 50cm boy -- and the ever-popular "just mod a Zaoll" option -- I can't really think of any! However if you check Oceanmoon's schedule they are planning a release of a ~52cm boy this year. Also, I don't know much about Obitsu chest part swapping, but you might look into that as they do make 47cm and 50cm girl bodies.

 

On the subject of Obitsus - the male chestpiece will work with the 47cm body, but not the 50cm body, which is much slimmer than the other Obitsus. It would look more like a flat-chested girl than anything, though. Not really sure about 50cm Bobobie boy; if I remember, he was designed by someone else (a DOA member) and cast by Bobobie. I'm not 100% sure you can still get them, though it's always worth a look, of course. If it's not to your tastes, I'd recommend waiting for the Oceanmoon boy.

How about lut's Junior Delf?

 

I'm interested in this answer too- I have the same problem. I thought about getting a girl body and modding it, but the character has a relatively solid, masculine build. I also thought maybe getting a 60 cm boy body and just... shortening it >.> I've seen a mod where someone took pieces out of the lower legs then apoxied ti back together so the character was shorter, but I think that was just barely a centimeter of different or so.

 

Dollmore Youth Adam bodies, I think. I don't remember what they are called again, but they are for the Kara Klum boy. It says that they are 63 cm on the site, but they are actually a fair bit shorter. More around 57ish cm.
