Ordered! Ahhh he's so expressive with the rotating ears. I was torn between getting Zeev or the Ringdoll werewolf head but ultimately Zeev won

 

I've ordered one in WS He looks like such a sweetie. Looking forward to seeing more of him!

 

I was in a similar situation to kickingshoes - inasmuch as that I had seen the Ringdoll head and was trying to decide whether it fit the intended character and then I found out about Zeev. I can't wait for him to arrive so I can put him on his waiting body and get to customising! ^_^

 

Say, does anyone have any comparison shots of the Zeev head on different bodies? His head appears oversized on many bodies with a 10.5cm neck. Plus, I wanted a more mature body for him (I've been eyeballing Granado's Male Body Evol, but that's an 11.8cm neck). Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places...?

I only have photos of my Zeev on the Mega Gem Phonolus body I bought before he arrived... That's a massive neck though, and I've had people tell me his head actually seems far too small on it. But for the sake of comparison:

 

I think he looks pretty good on Mirodoll! It's the most proportionate body I've seen so far I think.

I know it's been awhile since anyone has posted here--but what size eyes have people been using for their heads? It says 8-10mm, but what has worked best for you? Thinking of ordering this guy so I thought I'd grab a pair of eyes for him as well while shopping for my others!

 

@Alsatian - I received 10mm eyes with my head because it was part of the preorder run, so it depends how big you want the irises to be.

 

@Nyara Do you like how the 10mm look/do you have a photo? I don't have any preferences yet since my first two dolls haven't even arrived! (I wasn't planning to buy anything more, but then a friend showed me zeev)

Ahhh this sculpt is so gorgeous!! I'm really tempted to get him. I've been looking around for anthro heads but there don't seem to be that many? And I don't mean those vaguely anthro faces some sculpts have but more on the realistic end of the scale. It's a shame I can't find the Wolf head PaviLion used to make. *sighs*

Anyway, have any of you tried a wig on your Zeev? How would that work with his ears? Just curious to hear your experiences.

 

Hey, this is SUPER late, but a big thank you to @Nyara and @bluekitsune! This is really helping my search out (I dropped my search for a while haha).

I have a better feeling for what models to look at now.

 

The ringdoll shoulder sculpt suits him nicely. How's the neck fit for posing?

 

Did a search on wolf BJD sculpts and found Zeev . I didn't know about him/ her until now. But I did an order with the only available color left, gray skin. I probably would have gone for gray skin anyway even if there were still an white skin option left. I'd like to have a darker kind of wolf, like a dark were or something.

I'll probably ask Resinsoul to do a color match for me. Then I'll buy him nice black hair and a fluffy black tail.

 

Sounds awesome, I just got a secondhand white skin and I'm thinking about a Resinsoul body too.

 

I remember seeing a white skin Zeev head on the MP not so long ago. If it's the same head, I asked about it but it were already sold. But that's ok. I think a gray skin Zeev will be fun to create a character with as well

From what I know Resinsoul offer a color matching service, so I'm thinking of having the color of the body match with the Zeev head.

It'll be a while though before I can order him a body and get him a face-up. Not before after Christmas sometime I think. I don't do face-ups myself so I have to find someone who can do it for me. And I'd like to have his body blushed to match some of his face-up.

But I do have a light tan RS Gang body that I can test the head on and see how it fits. What body size are you goimg to get for the head?

 

I dunno when I'll be able to get mine a body either, but I'm thinking the new 72cm Yi body, cuz it's gorgeous.

Luckily my guy already came with a faceup so he's good for now, cuz I'm unable to do faceups in my current setup. I do prefer to do my own though.

 

I did talk to the creator of Zeev, and they said that he'd look best on bodies under 70 cm. Just thought I should mention that. I'm going for the RS Gang body, but I wish RS had a 65cm body. I have no idea if they do or not.

 

Oh yeah dang that's probably true, his head is kinda small. I dunno what now then. I might just try him on my 70cm DC body though just to see if he would work on a slim body that size.

 

So I determined that a 12-13cm shoulder width works really good for him, now just gotta find a body I like that size that's not scrawny looking.

 

I did want a more muscular were wolf character in the 65cm range, But I tried the head on my light tan Gang body, and personally I think the head look good in proportion to the body. I just have to order a body in the right color. Since he's gray skin I want to order him in a custom made resin color so that the color of the head and body match. The neck fits well into the neck hole, and there's not much gap. The only problem is that the face tend to point downwards as if he's looking at the ground. It's not the Zeev head there's a problem with. Even my Gang head do the same thing on that body. I fixed that problem with hot glue in the neck hole and around the neck. Only, the hot glue peeled off very fast so I think I'm going to try a strip of elastic adhesive bandage around the top of the neck. It's very sticky so I have high hopes it'll work.

Here's a little picture of him on the Gang body. I haven't thought of a name for him yet. But I think I'm going to go for a Scene style. He looks really cool with hair like that. Currently I'm talking with someone on Etsy about a custon fur wig and tail. Then after I order the body in the beginning of 2019, I'll send him for a face-up.

 

That sounds fun, I didn't even think about making him a tail. I have some white fur, and white with black streaks, one of those should work for my guy.

And just remembered that he works on a mirodoll body which has a 14cm shoulder width hmm, guess it was just my DL body he didn't like, I'll have to try him on my impl 65 body whenever I feel like dragging it out.

 

I'm really curious how well it fits the 65cm Impl body, but I've come up with a character style I think might look better with the smaller Resinsoul 1/3 body. Still a little bit unsure what to go for.
