Sketches for 33cm-ish girl~ [Cheddar]

Jul 1, 2011

    1. I would realllllly like to start working on my next project, a 33cm girl named Cheddar, so I can switch between working on Mayo and working on her, depending on if I need to wait for clay to dry or if my brain just needs a break from one...I have a side-view blueprint I'm decently happy with:

But I've had a rough time trying to come up with something for a front view...gone through a LOT of sketches, here are the 5 best sofar (I know my arm lengths are all over the place wrong, sorry about that!):

My "blueprint" sketch isn't going to be followed absolutely exactly, but pretty closely (at least to start with)...I want something to help me keep on track in terms of general proportions and height...I'm learning with Mayo that, sometimes things that look really good on paper look better differently in three dimensions. :sweat

Also, I was thinking that IF she turns out decent, I'd have several bust size options, so that's the reason for the differences in bust sizes in the sketches...

I know it's a bit early to be planning fantasy parts for her too, but I can dream, can't I? :XD
If she works out well, I'd like to sculpt a centaur body for her as well...

      Proportions (a bit stylized, haha~):

I'd love to get opinions on any of this, but extra-especially the front blueprints...I feel that's what's keeping me from starting her...

    2. I personally like front views 2 and 3 best. :)

    3. 3 is my favourite. Just be careful with the hips as they look a little too pointy there.

Too soon to be thinking about centaurs, I reckon. Not to mention the huge amounts of clay to make a centaur body. A basic doll takes ages without fantasy parts so I recommend doing an awesome job with a human(oid) first. Good luck <3

    4. I second what jphobia said. # 3 is awesome, good luck with it :)

    5. (sorry it's taken me so long to reply! :o) Thank you for your opinions. I have decided that #1 is actually most suited to my goals/vision for a doll in this particular size, but I'll most likely try for something a bit taller (55cm-ish?) that looks more similar to #3 in the future. ;) :D
