i recently bought a few patterns for 1/3 sized clothing because I currently don't own any but I wanted to make some for adopt a newbie. The pattern I had, although it said instructions, has none. I am skilled in human clothing so I was able to make it. However, the pattern doesn't include what kind of closure it has and the pictures don't include any shots form the back. It's a dress and I have to gather the skirt to the bodice. I can't move forward because I'm unsure of how the closure is so I don't know the size of the bodice. I have never made clothes were I'm unable to fit it on the person or doll or dog! I would love some advice. I will update with a picture of the bodices if anyone asks. I still want to keep the progress hidden incase my newbie sees it. It is pretty much a dress made from a simple slopper like design. Front panel, side panels and two back panels.
Unless the pattern has an indication for an overlap in the back like a dotted line indicating the center back it's probably meant for a zipper. Does the dress have a collar? without an idea of the style it's hard to say.
It does have a collar. The pattern did have lines on the back panel but it didn't say what it was for. I've seen that line for hems and for zippers. I'll try to edit the pattern s that piece is the only one in the picture. Don't want to post the whole pattern of course. One second. Back panel for advice I'm on mobile. Not sure how to embed pictures.
If you have a collar when you sew it in from center front to back where the collar end should be the center back in theory. The part of the pattern after the dotted line could be a facing fold line or the center back line you will know once you sew the collar on. I think this pattern has a built-in overlap in which case you could use small snaps, or some micro-velcro for the closure.
The collar wasn't explained that greatly, so I'm not sure where it wanted the hem. I hemmed all of the outer edges, and it leaves about 1/4 in overlap on either side to get collars to line up evenly. I may line up the snaps so the line on the back line up. I am focusing on the skirt right now to at get all of the layers lined up and be ready once i know the blouse size. Thanks for the info, I may send you the pictures in a PM if that's ok!
