Sister, Sister, Brother, Brother

I've got two sisters both are from Dollchateau (Alma and Faust) I've also a sister and little brother and they are from diffrent companies. The sister is a Leekeworld Mikhaila and the brother a Irrealdoll Enyo. There both a tan doll

 

There are a couple threads like this, so it might get merged, but I'm gonna answer anyway.

Ilya is half of a fraternal twin duo; they'll both be from Dollzone, but Ilya is a Carter and Nikos will be an Ivan. Then their littler brother Sylvan will be a DZ Scarecrow Hal.

I also have two Chinese luck spirits (pixiu) that will be Immortality of Soul's Co and Cho, so pretty similar. (Their names are Enlai and Renshen.)

Theeeen I have quintuplets... I'm not 100% sure what their sculpts will be, but they'll be almost identical. (Probably Soom MSDs or YoSDs, since the quints are deer fauns.)

I tend to prefer my sibling pairs to be slightly different sculpts, or at least have noticeably different faceups; I wouldn't want to gave have two of the exact same doll. You could just photoshop that doll into a picture twice if the twins were exactly the same.

 

I have Twin brothers, John and Joe (Iplehouse Arvids, I have both EID and FID size)
Then I have their older brother Ro in SD size, Iplehouse SID Eric, I want an FID Claude to turn into a MSD Ro.

I also have cousins. Iplehouse SID Zera (Felicia) and EID Jessica (Vanessa)

 

I have two sets of siblings so far. And sadly I don't know what sculpts they will be. I have the character fleshed out for the most part but nothing else.

 

Aletheia and Mariana are my only siblings. Mariana is a Bambicrony Emily and Aletheia is an Iplehouse Yur. They don't look very much alike. However! Mariana's grown up version Lorina/Rose looks pretty similar to her, being an Iplehouse Rexy.

 

My doll family are based on my OCs, and are one big, happy family for the most part. I have Patrick and Ron who are both from Elfdoll, but different sculpts (K and Aden), who look like they could be related, which was entirely intentional.

And then there are Rachel, Elly and Taya, who all look nothing alike, even though they are full biological sisters. Rachel is a Luts Summery '10, Elly is a Parabox Alice (not even resin) and Taya is an Iplehouse Benny in LB skin.

For some of them I put in a lot of thought in what sculpts would work, and others fell into my lap and just ended up working out. Elly was an impulse purchase - I originally had a completely different doll in mind, but she worked out better. I bought Rachel because I just liked the sculpt. But I chose the Elfdoll Aden for Ron specifically because I thought he looked like Patrick.

 

I have a brother (Obitsu) and sister (Dollfie Dream). Both are vinyl and anime style, so they match up pretty well. Someday I'd like to do another brother and sister, but with the Obitsu msd size.

...are both the daughters of Arkytrope (Unidoll Ark). Squish needs a new faceup and eyes; the family resemblance would be stronger.

 

I have a few!

My first set of "siblings" are Parker and Rose. (Rose is technically his daughter, but his parents adopted her since she was unplanned.) They are totally different companies, he's 5Star Doll, she's Asleep Eidolon, but she looks similar to his childhood sculpt, IslandDoll Kevin.

My second set are Tanner and Josey, they are Volks and Luts. They don't look much alike.

My most recent set are Luc and Marie. They're both Luts Senior Delf--he's a Howl, she's a Verna. She's not home yet, but when she is, she'll be painted to look very similar to him.

I also have other family--Kier and Eirnin are first cousins, and Derby is Eirnin's niece. They are very different sculpts, which makes sense, considering they all have different parents. Kier's dad and Eirnin's mom are siblings.


Lastly, though off topic, I do have Jellybean and Oreo, who are Sakura & Paper hamster sisters!

 

Maddy and her sisters (and a Dalek, who isn't a sister.) Five at the moment, but I think there will be two more added. Maddy and Swan are both PKF Mios in different skin tones, Bowie is a PKF Luna, Sigourney is a PKF Crystal and Alcyone is a PKF Icis in tan.

I have 2 David Kuncci's from Dollshe & they are twin brothers. David has brown long hair & Davian has long black hair. I wanted to keep them similar but different at the same time.

 

I currently have a pair of brothers in my dolly family. I originally tried to make the brothers in chibi (tiny) form before with a Volks and a Rosen Lied but that didn't work out too well because the difference between them was really jarring. They are now bigger boys who are from different companies - Iplehouse and Souldoll. They even come in different skin tone lol. The grown-up elder brother is supposed to be a healthy, well-toned kind of guy (since he's good in sports) whereas the younger one is kinda skinny and frail (and dreamy) so the differences all worked out in the end, for me at least!

My little Lati Yellow boy also has a twin brother but I don't have a doll for his brother character yet LOL. Poor boy has been waiting for his brother for like forever lmao!

 

I have a brother and sister, Lir and Elinore. They do look alike, a bit, both with light skin and brown hair. Lir's hazel eyes have more colors in them than Elinore's more green hazel eyes.

 

I don't have any siblings/blood relatives... Pete and Billy kind of 'adopted' each other, so I didn't need them to look related, but wanted them to be from the same company so that they would share a more general aesthetic. So I often wind up leaving them in cozy sibling type poses on the shelf together, but I don't have blood family for either of them since their story doesn't touch on any other relatives that either has.

 

The character plan for my dolls is that Alex has a sister (undecided sculpt, but thinking Ringdoll because Alex is a Ringdoll), and the MK Cris I'm waiting on is her son. The story goes that something happens to the little one's parents, and he's sent to his uncle for a while (if not indefinitely, in the future of the story, to save on more dolls...).

The DF-A practice head I'm waiting on; no relation to the other two. He's on a different plotline, in a different story, but paths could cross somehow, briefly.

Katie, Jo and Timmy are siblings. They're all Iple heads (Katie and Timmy are hybrids) with a bit of family resemblance - or so I think.
Fun fact: I've had Jo (Bianca) home for years, but nothing seemed to stick, character-wise. Only when Katie (Bliss), who's a main character in my main story, came home and I saw them side by side did I notice the resemblance, and Bianca clicked into her Jo persona instantly. Timmy (Noel) was bought when Iple retired a bunch of sculpts because I'd picked him out for his resemblance to his sisters and didn't want to miss him. I would have preferred a full doll but didn't have the funds to spare at that point, so now he's sharing bodies until I decide what to do about it.

 

My SD's are mostly sibs, half-sibs and cousins in a big extended Victorian family, some of them have the same sculpt but mos of them I just got becuase I liked them - after all, many real-llife siblings look nothing alike (my sisters and myself, for example, no-one would think we were related going by colouring, appearance, or personality)

I have nine-year-old twins (boy and girl) who share the same RML sculpt, an eleven-year-old girl with the same sculpt, and a fourteen-year-old cousin with the same one too, but the rest of the family range from 19(ish) down to toddler and have heads from Luts, Elfdoll, Kaye Wiggs, Volks, Ninodoll, DollsTown, a few different RML sculpts, AiL, MerryDollRound, and Custom House.

My first siblings are kinda an odd match... They're a Dikadoll AAAAA and an Impledoll Vivien... But the Impledoll is the older brother XD and he's a lot smaller in width and kinda in hight! But the sculpts worked well for each of them ;-; (sorry the pic is so fuzzy)

My second set of siblings are all the same company~ But I currently dont have a good picture of the three of them, just a jokey one XD

I really need to get my RS Song's sister, but I keep putting it off ;-; I have a lot of sibling and cousin groups among my OCs, so I love getting them shelled~~

I have twins, but I didn't plan it! they are Soom Heliot White Night Destiny male and female fullsets. I loved them both so much I couldn't pick just one, and since Heliot is one of my favorite sculpts, I got them both and ended up with twins

right now i don't have yet a sibling kind of bjd but in the future i'm planning on getting twins.

 

My Iplehouse nYID Oscar and Justin are fraternal twins; Tyler (Oscar) on the left and Michael (Justin) on the right. They were planned to be from the same company, so that they'd have the same aesthetic and look as if they're related.

I have several sets of siblings in my crew... In each case, the dolls came from the same company and so share a very similar look.

That pretty much follows from the one and only hard and fast rule of my collection. Dolls that I plan to group and photograph together *have* to match in scale and sculptural style. They'll drive me bananas if they don't.

 

I have several sets of siblings, but the only set I've got together are my elves, Johanna and Guinevere. They're actually half-sisters, but since they share a sculpt they could pass for twins (they're both Fairyland Juri 2013 heads). And indeed, sometimes in the storyline they do pose as twins.

 

I have a few sets of siblings. Arieth (Dollshe Grant Phillippe) and Aeramin (Dollits Rey) are fraternal twins, and Malwen (Islanddoll Ivy) and Narise (Impldoll Simon) are sisters by adoption. I also have a brother/sister pair, but only have the brother shelled. I haven't found the sculpt to fit his sister yet.

 

I have a set of twins - same sculpt, painted differently, different eyes and hair (Bimong - Dandelion). My other siblings are from different companies (LLT - Red Dove, Anna Queen - Club, Rosen Garden - Rui). I think they look close enough to be related but each having varied features one might see in amongst siblings in real life.

 

One set of my siblings (triplets) are two Soom Zaks and one f60 lacrima, SO sometimes I keep them from the same company. Another set are not twins but have a similar figure, SO they'll both be on modded f60 bodies, one a Dollmore Kara Klum, The other...probably Also Dollmore. I also have two characters that had a kid (Soom gluino mechanical vampire and withdoll Adriana) whose child is *probably* a zaoll.

The sculpts are very similar and I decided I wanted both. Hence, sisters.

 

I have three dolls who are a big family (A 21 year old, a 10 year old and a 5 year old) all siblings. I haven't touched on them in awhile but I will eventually. Then I also got twin sisters (the doll in my avatar is one of them.) Their fraternal twins they have the same face sculpt but are totally different in looks and even personality.

 

I have two pairs of siblings in my crew: Shiwoo (MnF Shiwoo) and Yukio (MnF vampire Shiwoo) are brothers, and Cerberus (MnF scar Shiwoo) and Orthrus (Plasticmoon Mr. Kitty) are brothers.

 

I have Glorydoll Lucy and Karen. Karen came to me first as a head purchased on Ebay. I had planned to change her face up but over time came to love its uniqueness. I regretted not buying Lucy before the company went out of business and she was a grail head I was searching for when one came up for sale on Ebay by one of my favorite artists. I always imagined Lucy and Karen as sisters side by side but they are so completely different painted that they don't work as siblings like I imagined. I have 2 half-brothers, 2 of a triplet set, a set of identical twins and a collection of brothers.

Moswen (AoD Chi, tan) and Tyhlian (OD Tae Vampire, NY) who share the same father. The identical twins are Moswen's grandkids, Vuchel & Vashin (RS Bao in WS and Dark grey). Jaiseki (AoD Min, NY) is one of the twins' fathers. 1 of Tyhlian's triplet brothers is Tohan (AoD Min, tan).

The collection of brothers is... loose in that they're all gods and consider themselves siblings but they have different parentage (they're gods and its complicated). Fei-Lau (DZ Edward, WS) is God of Winter Storms. Saraf (5Star Dark, dark grey) is God of Primal Flame & Lord of Metallic Dragons. Wu-Tyr (Dollshe Orijean, oriental) is God of the Depths. Rhas-Khan (Soom ID51 Gluino romantic, grey) is God of the Abyss. Ammiel (OD Il vampire, WS) is God of Perception. Ra-Sui (SD Vito Azrael skull head) is God of Decay & Guardian of Souls.

For the gods, they really cover a lot of range in both size and style of doll. But I also go with what suits them best and not any particular company or style.

 

Not with ones I currently own, but I have shells thought out for me and my friends' FNaF AU. For both sets of siblings I have picked out so far, they have sculpts from the same company! Johnny and Mike Schmidt both have Asleep Eidolon sculpts (Ann and Ted, respectively), while the phone brothers, Scotty and Skott Collins, have Little Monica sculpts (Haazel and Luke, respectively). Some of them I might not leave on the same bodies, though, unless I can deal with inaccuracies in height, of which Johnny is the main offender because dang that boy is the shortest.

 

I have a big brother and little sister. They're not from the same company but share identical eyes and hair colour.

When I do make siblings I like them to be from the same company.. A lot of companies have a certain similarity to their sculptures.
I think that this makes for good siblings. I enjoy seeing that family likeness in my sibling dolls.

When I go for a parent, they are not always from the same doll company as the child/teen doll. Children can look quite a bit different from their show parent, perhaps they look like the parent I don't have a doll for. I do try to match something in the feature from child to parent though, eye shape, maybe the curve of the lips, just something that makes them look as if they belong together.

If I do get two or more dolls from the same company, they automatically become siblings or are related. For some odd reason, I find it mandatory to do this.

 

In my collection I have a couple of sets of siblings. In my genie palace I have twin sisters Azahara and Zahara (Luts BabyDelf Gabriels in different skin tones, with different colored wigs.) And they have a little sister, Fable (a Luts BabyDelf elf-eared Daisy in yet a different skin tone.)



And I have a second pair of twins, one girl and one boy, Sugar and Cloud Kurogane (both Luts Kid Delf Summery ‘10s.) I wound up with these twins because I adored her sculpt so much that when a second one came up years later on a boy body, I simply had to snatch it up.

 

I used to have a pair of twins but then I got rid of the sculpts and when I rebought one of the shells he became a single child. They were a Resinsoul Wu and Resinsoul Li, which make a very cohesive pair of siblings. I also have a pair of half-siblings, a Luts Yul Satyresse girl and a Luts Quino boy, who look less alike but have the same pouty expression. I think they only work as half-siblings. The Resinsoul twins really look almost identical save for the lips.

 

My dolls are half an extended family tree! Ara and Suha are siblings, Tian Ni is their cousin on one side (one of my off-topics is a cousin on the other), Fiadh is a foster sibling in the Irish mythology sense of like, raised by a different family to learn from them and all. One incoming doll who doesn't have a name yet is probably going to be another cousin, and I think she and Clover are girlfriends.

And uh, yeah. The only two from the same company aren't "blood" related. Resemblance is debatable, but I like them all and that's what matters most to me.

I tried to draw them out to illustrate (except apparently misplaced the incoming doll as a sibling rather than a cousin):

 

Liam (migi ryu) and Cheby (migi miho) are cousins. I originally threw Cheby in as a close friend, but it worked out really well to have him as a cousin as well due to the "family resemblance" and a few other factors. I'd like to shell Liam's half sister as Migi Flora, but I need her head to look good next to her husband who is a Volks Williams so I'm hesitant to use a head with much smaller eyes than him. Much to think about...

 

I have two sets of sisters, one group from Dream of Doll, and the other from Volks. Despite each set coming from the same company, I did not think much about the molds resembling each other. I show their bonds more from coordinating clothing, wigs, or how I pose them.

I actually have 3 instances of this:
Rupert (Pukipuki Pongpong) and Pimento (Pukipuki Cupid 3) are cousins (ok, not quite brothers, but they are very close)

Talen (Resinsoul Wu) and Sabrinna (Iplehouse Benny) are brother and sister.

And Zen (Loongsoul/Obitsu hybrid), Kevin (Blueblood Valentine), and Cordillia (Minifee Shiwoo) and Sister, Brother, Sister (respectively)

 

I have one big family of japanese ogres. Brothers, sisters, mother ,father, grandmother and so on. Most of them are from the same company (Another Secret), the others are from Miracledoll and dollmore. The dollmore are the less similar to the rest of the family.

 

This is awesome! I love how big the family is. You have them all dressed so beautifully. The whole scene is gorgeous.

 

My siblings are Roux (Elfdoll Rainy Vivien Reminisce mod.+Supia original body), Léon (NyxDoll Limos+Dikadoll 62cm boy body ver. 4) and Claudia-Nicolette (Dollmore Narsha sister Zihu)

The only siblings I have are Daisy and Beatrice.
Daisy is a Lati Cara on a Kid Delf body and Beatrice is a Dollmore Narsha. While hey have slightly different facial shapes, the individual features are quite similar when looked at closely, so provided that one takes after her mother and the other takes after her father I think it works.
They also have a cousine, Lilja, who is a Lati Shaina. She is a different colour and styled very differently, but since the Shaina and Cara heads are done by the same sculptor, there is a little bit of a family resemblence there.

 

Hayk (Bimong Narin68 Grey) and Oshidori (Joydoll Lai x 2DDoll 68cm girl) are the only siblings in my crew...

My doll characters are inspired by the sculpts themselves, so I bought the dolls on their own merits and didn't have siblings in mind at first. Then when I looked closer at their head sculpts, they seemed to have a family resemblance. That became more obvious when they came home: eyes with an upturned slant, monolid eyelids, blunt straight nose with a rounded tip, similar expression around the mouth. They're both distinctively East Asian in sculpting, which is different from all my other dolls.

Somehow they contrived to have family resemblance in their bodies too -- both have really large hands and long fingers. Couldn't have planned this, but it delighted me so much!

To show their sibling resemblance, I painted their faceups with the same colour palette, picked eyes that give them the same mood, and pose them in similar ways for photos. They dress differently so I try to accessorize them similarly. I'm still amazed that they come from different sculptors in different countries, but managed to converge like this.

 

I actually have quite a few siblings. Most notable is the Anders family where Kiera, is IP JID Sylvia. Gerhardt, who belongs to my wife, DE, is a Dollmore Kyle more commonly referred to as The Doctor or Dr Anders. Summer the youngest of the siblings is Zoall Luv. Old photo but here they are together. I should do more with them together. Summer and the Doctor are more frequently seen together. (Note: Height variations are due to the lay of the land. The Doctor is by far the tallest of all of them)

There are more but a couple of recent developments in my crew are Wyatt (5th Motif Venitu) who now has a younger brother, Artemis (Dollshe Aramus) who hasn't yet shown up officially in any story. Wyatt is a motorcycle mechanic and Artemis is a short order cook.



The other recent change is that my IP NYID Bianca whose name is Feather, now has a brother. She's a little wild and I photographed them together once and brother/sister really became apparent to me. Jesse boards horses and Feather, well she's all over the place and even though she is a bit of a troublemaker she is very high on my personnel favorite list.
