SIO2 Doll

SIO2 makes such wonderful dolls- I'm always curious what new doll she releases next^^

I've had my Cold Dew, Jun, for 1½ years now... I still need to get her proper eyes, but at least she has a body Here she is wearing an old messy wig^^ Hoping I can someday add another SIO2 doll to my collection :3

Ah I'm glad to see a thread for these sculpts! I'm excited for the upcoming Peach Deer Special. I think she'd work well for something I have in mind.

So, I found Peach Deer, and I was wondering if anyone else was planning to nab such a pretty head. She takes a bigger body, what are you planning to put her on?

Hello everyone!! I wanted to share a picture of my Peach Deer boy ! This sculpt is so cute as a boy or girl .



As for the bodies, my boy is on a 65 cm Switch HummingDolly boy body.

I personally feel like the Peach Deer head was biiiiig...With this in mind, I bought a Spiritdoll PROUD 66 cm girl body to hybridize with the head, but the proportion was a bit strange for my taste. I felt like the head was still too big even on a large female body. Also, the resin match was not even close, lols. The head was much more pale and the Spiritdoll body more yellow (2017 batch), though I'm sure anyone can blush it to match!

I definitely prefer this head more on a 65 cm male body (and the resin is much better with the Switch body).

Hot diggity, he is really nice! I am double determined to get one now. Thank you too for the info on bodies and resin matches, both of you! Now I can plan. I'ma leave a bit of space for future body in the budget spreadsheet, boop beep boop.

 

My Gosh, your Peach Deer boy is absolutely amazing!!! I never knew this sculpt would make such an adorable boy!! You need to post more pictures of this cutie- please!!!

 

Do you guys think here's any difference between the taolu and taolu sp sculpts other then the eyes?

 

I was wondering about that, and I don't really see what else it would be.

 

I was so worried when I saw the sales notice for Hanshuang. But I really would like it if we had more pictures of her.

 

I was super worried I would really like her more, like I really like Peach Deer. I am on the fence with Hanshuang, but I think I will pass. However, I hope someone gets her and shows her off, because she is really cute!

 

Oh I hear you! Whenever I see that SIO2 are releasing a new sculpt I'm both excited but also worried that I will fall in love- as the last thing I really need right now is more floating heads + my bank account is dying from spending too much money on doll stuff this summer! >___<

Hanshuang is super adorable- she would make the cutest boy as well! I do hope someone gets her and posts many pictures!!^^

I'm looking forward to the order period for Peach Deer SP opening, since I am fairly sure that I will be getting her. It's a bit stressful as I have never had a resin before and am somewhat terrified about yellowing and breakage and similar things, but at the same time, there are so few sculpts that I like so much as this one.

I'm also a bit concerned about finding a body: I would like something in the 56-53 cm range (the character is supposed to be about 165cm tall in full scale) but I don't want the head to look overly bobbleheaded. I'm not looking for perfectly realistic proportions, but I don't want it to look too awkward either. If anyone has suggestions I'd appreciate them a great deal!

 

Welp, Hanshuang's been released and yeah...she's perfect for a character of mine. Though the character is male and I intend to put the head on a 65cm body (probably the Island Doll First body). Thank everything that Sio2 offers layaway. I'm so excited, this will be my first artist head!

 

Wait, they do offer layaway? That is going to cause me no end of trouble. All the heads!

 

Welp, the latest Facebook picture of Huangshang is really trying to tempt me now. That face looks adorable as a boy. Looks like I might need to shop for bodies at the next meet.

 

what is the difference between the taolu sculpt and peach deer? there is this sculpt i really like but i cant find the real name?

An update for Taolu SP, the China pre-order is now ready to ship! For international sales they are set to be sold at the end of this month or early next month with Little Prince head.

 

Agh, I have so many bills right now, I don't know if I could manage it. But I hope someone gets theirs for some spamming here.

 

I’m excited to see the Talou is finally going to be released. Even if it’s not the original this new version is lovely and I hope to add it to my collection.

 

Is anyone else planning to get little prince! I knew from the moment I saw him I had to get him!!

 

I'm hopefully going to get Little Prince! He's pretty much perfect for a character of mine. The only thing that's making me hesitate are the hollows under his eyes; I'm not sure if they're actually that prominent on the sculpt or if it's just because of the faceup. I did ask for blank photos and they said they would update them, so I'll wait to see those before deciding. I'm pretty much 99% made up, though. Little Prince is just so cute and ethereal-looking.

 

I understand your feeling!! I'm waiting for blank photos to decide if I'm 100% too but I'm pretty much sold aha

 

I think I will take the plunge and order Little Prince! Though there aren't blank photos yet, I feel like at this point I would regret it more if I didn't get him.

Does anyone know how long Sio2 takes with their monthly dolls? They say 6 months on the website but I feel like I've seen people who've gotten Hanshuang already...unless I'm remembering totally wrong.

 

Just saw this new Hanshuang promotional photo on Sio2's store!

 

Does anyone know if SIO2 releases the previous heads occasionally for order, or is it a one time thing then never again? My sister really loves the Cold Dew head but we can't find one. (It seems others are as well!) Anyone know more information about the sculpt? I am thinking at this point our best bet is to watch the marketplace? Sorry if the question seems to have an obvious answer, I don't see any information about re-releases and I'd like her to be able to find one. Thanks!

 

@Kiegea Nope, SIO2 don't re-release old sculpts (I remember someone asked them directly a while back). But chances are the Cold Dew head will pop up for sale somewhere 2nd hand- so keep an eye out on the marketplace! Good luck! :3

 

I finally sent in my order, I hope it is not too late! X3 I think I might try a Mirodoll body for her. She will need big girl clothes too, so excited!

 

White Dew is going on sale in March! Oooouch, my wallet. Now I will need to plan out two new doll bodies. TAT

I think I might go cheap for a bit and get the 70cm Mirodoll body for her for now. I am hoping the resin match is not bad, but we'll see. Eventually, I would like to upgrade to Dollstown. What body are you planning?

 

Hmm, does anyone know if it's normal for Sio2 to not confirm payments? I finished paying off my Little Prince on layaway, but never got any kind of confirmation for any of the payments I made. I haven't heard anything from them since I made the first payment in fact so I'm getting a little worried now....should I bug them about this?

 

This happened to me when I put Talou on layaway and then paid the head off. I wasn’t send an invoice or anything else initially either. I ended up writing them to confirm that they got my payments and to make sure there was no problems. They wrote me back within a day to say that yes, everything was in order. They told me they were waiting to send out a round of invoices to people? I received a full invoice a couple of weeks later.

I would write them if you’re concerned (and I totally feel you because I /was/ concerned when I heard nothing). They’ve been quick to respond when I have written them with a question — usually within a day or two.

Thanks for the advice! I just sent them an email, so hopefully I'll hear something from them soon. I did get an invoice for the first payment, but no confirmation for any of the later ones.

 

I got an email confirming my paying off my layaway, about a week or two after it was done. I wonder how production is going with the split.

 

Update, I messaged them on etsy and they confirmed they'd received all my payments, and actually said they're preparing to ship this month. Not sure if it's really going to happen, but it's good news!

@bickazer Thanks for the link to their Etsy shop. Do they ever put up heads for sale/pre-order on Etsy?

 

They said before they would have their next order on Etsy in March, but I have not heard anything else about it since then. I do hope they give an update.

 

I too waited for the White Dew preorder in March, which did not happen, as it seems. I wrote SIO+ an email maybe two weeks ago and asked about White Dew, but haven´t gotten any response so far.

 

Okay, so it wasn't just me. I figured I'd missed it. Whew. Misery loves company.

 

There's more details in the tinies thread for Sio2, but it seems like the two artists involved had a fight and split apart recently. One of them locked the other out of their email/facebook/instagram accounts, so because of that the sio2 service email no longer works. It also seems like one of the sculptors was in the hospital recently, the one who's responsible for the SD heads. So all these factors could explain why there was no preorder in March.

@bickazer Thank you so much for the update! I am currently waiting to receive the Goddess Bust Piece and I received an e-mail earlier this month telling me that the previous SIO2 Doll e-mail had been stolen and nothing too in depth.

 

Ah! That is a handy update! I also suppose I will be content with my Taolu SP head for now as well when she shows up.

 

Got an update via their instagram--it seems the artist is out of the hospital and they're getting ready to ship the heads out. So that's good news!

I got mine too! So excited, she will be here just in time for the Chitowndollz Spring meet. I will have a chance to try to find her a good resin match and suitable body before she heads out to the faceup artist.

 

I got a shipping notice as well. It was a wonderful surprise as I expected to wait at least another month.
