Simple SD-size Pullover by Answer42 The spoiler below is a line drawing of the sweater for clarity. Spoiler 7 sts/inch on #3 needles and Sock Ease yarn by Lion Brand, color “Red Hots” or any needles and yarn that make gauge. Row gauge is not important. Note: This pullover sweater fits SD-size, or about 60cm/24” tall female BJDs. This pullover with ¾-length sleeves is knit in one piece from side to side (sleeve cuff to sleeve cuff). Sleeve length is easily changed, if desired. The large, asymmetrical neckline allows the sweater to be put on feet first and can be worn in 2 ways. Cast on 30 stitches, leaving a long tail for sewing seams later. Knit 6 rows. Purl 1 row. Continue in stockinette stitch until piece measures 2.5 inches from cast-on stitches. Cast on 28 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. (86 stitches) Keeping the first 6 and last 6 stitches in garter stitch (k every time), continue in stockinette stitch until piece is 4.5 inches from start, ending with a knit row. Knit 8 rows. Center slit: On a wrong-side row, knit 14 stitches, bind off 38 stitches, knit 34 stitches. Next row: Knit 34 stitches, cast on 38 stitches, knit 14 stitches. Knit 10 rows, ending with a right-side row. Next row: Knit 6 stitches, purl across to last 6 stitches, knit 6 stitches. Work in stockinette stitch with a 6-stitch garter stitch border on each edge until the body section is 5.5 inches wide. Bind off 28 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Continue in stockinette stitch (without garter stitch border) until sleeve measures 2.25 inches, ending with a right-side row. Knit 4 rows. Bind off in knit stitch. Leave a long tail for sewing seams. Block piece. Sew sleeve and side seams. Weave in ends. Have fun!
These are so cool! Normally I don't like the look of knitted/crocheted items on dolls, but I really like the scale of this knit on this size. Well done, looks great! (And the colors you chose are awesomey sunsety!)
That's such a smart way of doing a neckline, and I love that it's reversible! Thank you so much for writing up the pattern, and the schematic is really helpful for visualising the construction. Thanks!
Lovely sweaters, I often use this technique with a diagram based on the gauge It gives you freedom and a guarantie that it will fit.
@kulukala Oh, WOW! I am so thrilled you tried one of my patterns! THANK YOU for posting a photo! You have one GORGEOUS BJD there!
