This is the first of three gallery spams I'm going to do tonight, but I've had a super eventful 24hrs. and took a lot of pics of the happenings. This is a somewhat standard box opening which introduces the newest addition to my family, Rei Martyn Midorikami. Please welcome him! Me: Momiji-kun, remember I said that I was doing something special for my birthday. Momiji: Um, yeah. Me: Well, it's special for you too. Someone very close to you is coming to visit. Momiji: Hm, I wonder who it is... Momiji: Wait a minute! It's not my brother, is it!?! Me: You got it! Momiji: DHL? Leave it up to him to travel in style. Momiji: He's well packed, isn't he? Momiji: Help me with this, will you? Me: Be patient. I'm as excited as you are! Momiji: Woah! His hair sure has grown since I saw him last. He looks like a hippie. Me: He may have cut his hair since this picture, you know. Let's get him uncovered. Momiji: Oniisan! Is that you? Rei: Indeed it is -- in the flesh! A bit too much in fact. Momiji: Oh, I've missed you so much! Rei: And I you, darling brother. Rei: Now, be a dear and fetch me the linen suit from my luggage. Momiji: Uh, sure. Rei: Ah, that's better. Momiji: That sure is a nice suit. Where did you get it. Rei: Oh, this. I picked it up the last time I was in India, visiting my guru. Momiji: Wow! You've been to India? Where else have you been? Rei: Well, let's have a seat and I'll tell you. Rei: As you remember, when you left Japan, I was serving at our local Shinto shrine. Soon after you left though, I spent some time at a monastery on Mt. Koya. After that, I decided to do some travelling in Europe and found myself in Assisi as a Franciscan lay-brother. However, I wanted to return to my Buddhist roots and left for Asia to explore Buddhist sites in South and South East Asia and settled for a while in Singapore. I ran into a friend there about a month ago though, who had good things to say about the San Francisco Zen Center, so I decided that not only could I continue my Buddhist studies here, but I could join my dear brother. Momiji: That is amazing! I wish that I could travel the world, like you. Rei: Oh, I'm sure you will, dear brother, but for now, I am happy to have us both settled for a while.
Sooo cute! Tell / show us more! (And because of the photos, I'm thinking - leave it Volks to make a "Big Special Limited Deal" out of a doll being made - like most dolls in this world as far as I know - withOUT anatomically-correct people-parts! x.X )
Wow! Thank you so much, everyone!!! I was really going to try and wait to open him until my birthday, but was just too excited! I loved Sakaki the moment I saw him when he came out in March and it took that long for me to be able to save up to afford him. It was so worth the wait!!! Karisu -- You are so right! I figured that I didn't have to give nudity warnings, because there's nothin' to see. It is kind of strange though, because he seems like such a virile guy otherwise.
A big congrat Kelly! I adore the pic of Rei and Momiji hugging each other. Rei is so beautiful and I am happy to see him finally made it to San Francisco. Can't wait to meet him in person Devon
Thank you, Devon! Rei fit in instantly and is loved by all, especially me! You'll definitely have to meet him soon!
