Si Ye – Dolpa-bought, Self-faceupped Touya2

We're back from Japan! And busier than ever! But this is late enough as it is... After the decision to go to Dolpa was made, the Limited Edition list was released, and an old dream came back to haunt us. We went to DP that day on that one-time chance, and every intention to try for the LE SDs queue. But there was a small typhoon in Ikebukuro in the morning. We set off at 5.30, but couldn't walk to the station. After calling a cab and getting to the station at 6, we got on the Saikyou line - which turned back at Shinjuku because of the weather. So after a lot of pain and frustration, we got to Kokusai Tenjijo and walked over to Big Sight, reaching the venue proper at almost exactly 7.40am. We got there less than 10 minutes after the lottery ended.

Considering that, it's a miracle that we have him here with us today. It is only due to the kindness of Volks and especially Shigeta Shino-san, who did everything within her ability while remaining absolutely fair, that we could have this fortune. We are undyingly grateful. We are Volks fans for life!

I redid his faceup the very night after we got home, with a broken Zoukeimura brush held at a funny angle. Which either says something about my dedication...or my priorities... XD;; [The lips and cheek+jaw blushing were saved from the default faceup though.]





No, we don't make it a habit of picking dolls up one after the other. XD;; As the MSDs had come but a couple of months earlier, we had no intention of buying a Limited Edition at DP at all. But it was Touya, whom I'd blogged about when he first came out, was sorely disappointed with in auction pictures, fell in love with again when first seeing him in person, and actually became the first [and so far only] doll I have ever regretted not getting. When we saw that he was somehow miraculously rereleased for the very DP we were going to attend...we had an agreement. If we could get him at DP, we would, if not, we would retreat in good grace and pining. So this was truly a one-chance miracle. As it is, we weren't even taxed at DP... XD

A few points about our Si Ye - his eyes are 16mm Tallina's grey and his left hand is half of an optional hand set [Tsukasa-style]. His glasses are actually Luts darkframes...Tsuki has since appropriated the Touya defaults. XD Also, his head is so small, his default wig is about three times too large for him...in fact, we're using a Dollfie Dream W55d on him now, and it's still too big. We put him next to Captain Cecile - the latter's head looked considerably larger...
