    2. aww she's so sweet, and i love rudolph standing with her!

    3. i also enjoy 3d printed bjds, particularly for the ability to have ooak sculpts made! these are both from the same artist (cryptic-forge on tumblr!), and are the artist's pictures, as though i have received the male doll, i have yet to take nice pictures of him :sweat

this doll was a custom fullset i commissioned them for! the concept was a pied billed grebe and i really like how everything came out! i'm particularly in love with the feet, they're so silly and fun to pose. i plan on making more clothes for him as he (both dolls actually) is a part of the world i am building with my resin cast bjds, though of course he's off topic. his name is hellion and he's a very shy boy! he's roughly 40cm tall, so he's msd sized!

and this little girl was an impulse purchase :XD:! she's a teapot unicorn that the artist dropped a few hours ago and i snatched her up, though she won't be posted until after the new year to avoid any postage trouble. currently i'm thinking she's a very snooty sort of princess, who is rather particular about how she likes things done, sort of like rarity from my little pony! i'm deciding between hadriel and adrien for her name, even though both are traditionally male names.

    4. Adrien is a gender neutral name.

Love your Teapot Unicorn - I'd have been tempted by her too

    5. right? she's adorable! and thank you, i wasn't aware!

    6. Yes, it's oner of those names, like Hilary and Anne, that can be used for either boys or girls.

    7. @jelliemouse , oh my! That teapot unicorn is just like the kind of doll I would impulse buy, the more whimsical the better :thumbup

Wishing all the doll people and their lovelies...

    9. It's been a while since I did an Alf photostory. I got the Totally 80s Alf for Christmas. I finally did a little story with him. This Alf comes with a scale replica of the official Alf skateboard from the 1980s. Here's Gordon Shumway's Semi-Amateur Bouillaboarder!

    11. Thank you, Saba :) I surprised myself with some of the things I was able to pull off for the shoot. Just getting him to push was surprisingly the most difficult.

Miss Furby's super glamorous! How can you not be glamorous with legs like those? She reminds me of my Dollmore Model Doll Leah  Perfect hand and arm positioning, too. Awesome shot, Saba :)

    12. Happy 2026, to everyone!

Awesome toys once again! Everyone collects such variety of unique stuff, it's fun to come see what's new every time!

I got a few small items for Christmas, for myself. I got most of these through Amzn, and the Yeti plushies off Target. I also got the Coffee Blend doll by UFDoll, that I was dreaming of owning since I saw their prototype for it, because it is a large version of their Mandarin Duck, which I love to bits. Sadly, things didn't go that well when I purchased from the one legit place that seemed to have them in stock weeks before Christmas. It was the most unpleasant experience of my life (they sent Sprite, instead, which clearly has a different color theme and listing on their website!). I got my correct doll in the end, but in all the million years I have been purchasing online, from Asian countries, and as a first-time, firsthand purchaser from that hyper-popular shop. I can't say I don't still have a bitter taste in my mouth. I still love my doll, but I'll probably refrain from getting more stuff from them (from a quick go*gle-search, it appears it is not uncommon for them to do so, then have the customer pay for the wrong item or not acknowledge their mistake at all!).

Funny thing is, they sent all the other items correctly. They were the tinier less expensive ones that they didn't mess up, and conveniently, they mixed up the larger most expensive toy, that I had to pay for... I got an Aaru Sweet Idol mystery box, Octocats Ice cream Series mystery box, Mianmian x UFDoll Strange World Adventure accessory pack set, and their free figure, which I really could have done without. I would have much preferred they just didn't send me the wrong freaking doll, instead of a wrong doll I never considered purchasing. The accessory set is pretty much all there is in the photo and the larger Mianmian box, the figures they didn't mess up were the tinier box on the top and tiny bag, to the left:

A few days before Christmas, I saw that Target had the Yeti they used in their USA ads as a plush-toy, for their Christmas stuff/toys (he was the DJ!). So, I went to get myself the larger one. I got the tiny one because it was less expensive that way, but I love both the same. The large one is 14-inches tall, the smaller one probably 5-6-inches tall:

Finally, on the 29th of Dec, I received my Coffee Blend doll, after what seemed like a nightmare level of experience. I love him to bits, but definitely an experience I won't soon forget. I got the Labubu from Pop-Mart's official Amzn store and the HK Miniverse Food capsules from Amzn themselves. They also made me wait an eternity to ship those, despite me ordering way before Xmas and both being in-stock at the time I ordered.

I got Loyalty from the Big Into Energy series. The other two I got a few months back, when they were in-stock there as well. The tinier one is the Pin For Love series "W" color, and the Green Grape one from the Exciting Macaron series:

Bald Coffee Blend: I love his face. I only wish they had kept the same mouth shape as the prototype. It was a wide smile, kind of like a cat/anime-naughty/mischievous type of a smile. I don't know why they decided to go for the dot mouth instead, but oh well. I truly wish they sold parts separately, so I could repaint my Coffee Blend's mouth like the prototype's mouth. He is beautiful to me nonetheless, and they definitely gave him better shoes this time (IMHO), to go with this outfit. I will be keeping mine as a boy, as I seem to do with all my UFDolls so far (I like my boys to wear traditional boy/manly-shoes).

Here's the Mianmian blank doll. I kind of forgot to consider these don't come with a sculpted wig nor ears... I don't know what I'm going to do about that. I loved the full-set ones, but I didn't want to have to pay extra to get the one I wanted, and go with whichever I got (like an actual mystery box), because I definitely don't have good luck with those, and there's like half I wanted and not the other half. There's only four dolls that are not the rare:

The mystery figures I got; Aaru Sweet Idol Transparent Style Taro Honey Idol and Octcats Ice Cream Series Sesame Slush. The saddest part is most places have these tiny mystery toys for a lot more than the popular shop, but thanks to this experience, I probably won't ever purchase from them again:

Edit: Completely forgot that I didn't share my Jazzwares My Melody fashion doll. That's when I got the Exciting Macaron Labubu, and some more MGA's Miniverse Sanrio Make it Mini capsules:

    13. A lot of cuties popped up since my last visit! Miss Furby looks as if she has already celebrated a little too much. :kitty2
Got a gray companion for my pink Mariko Cat. I think I have enough kitties and bunnies now, but that's what I always say. :kitty1

    14. Beautiful Mariko, Phanuel! I love all Pipos dolls, but because I am a huge old weirdo, I can't get myself into anthro-dolls without feeling weird about it (despite owning a single SoulDoll Bebe Aku, and regretting not getting the black version). DX Thanks for sharing both your lovely girls!

I recently unboxed my doubles of my Hello Kitty and Kuromi Jazzwares fashion dolls, and took some crappy photos of them. They are adorable, I wish Jazzwares will make some of the boys as well, and maybe some fashion packs!

I also took a few photos of my Sega Premium CuiCui Alice In Wonderland (crane prize) doll. I got her a few years ago, if not longer but only recently took photos of her. I did get doubles of her, because I am weird:

Lastly, I once again modified and repainted my 3D-modeled, resin artist-cast 1:6 action figure head sculpt based on Leon S. Kennedy (OG-RE4) version. I know I'll never get him to be accurate enough, but that will surely never stop me from trying. DX
      [IMG]

With his lighter wig, which I feel is more accurate style wise, but super off color-wise:

Blank head as he arrived to me, and newest mods before and after sanding. I modified his chin, his cheek hollows and eyes before, but I'm never quite satisfied on how inaccurate those were originally sculpted. His face shape is super round int he game, so I know he'll never be as accurate as in game, but I can dream!

    18. @phanuel your kitties are too cute- I think I want one! And yes, Miss Furby does tend to overdo things lol

@Enzyme you are very crafty, I am trying to be more crafty this year, you are very inspiring.

@mydaffer I love your Himstedt Winnie :D she looks so happy. My Himmie Kristina says Hi! Is your other girl 32 inch Moana? She's a good size to sew for.

I've started watching the Dark Crystal Netflix series, so got Kira out of the cupboard:

    20. @Saba thank you so much and now that I see she’s Moana that name sounded familiar, I have Anette Himstedt Moana as well and sadly I really have a few more and it’s been so long that I did anything with them I don’t remember their names, that’s terrible of me. Moana is my favorite I can say that for sure though.
I don’t have cable or wifi so I only watch air tv, I know nothing about the show your watching but your doll is cute and her dress is very pretty!

@Teddy thank you! Your dolls are so adorable and I love your sewing designs, the dresses are perfect! You really have an eye for doll clothes, as long as I’ve been on DoA I’ve seen your sewing throughout. Sewing is the biggest reason for my dolls, I’ve always loved dolls and making doll clothes from scratch is so fun for me.

    21. I just love this thread! So many amazing dolls and collectibles!

Sometime last summer I just drifted away from doa and lost interest. I’m back now and I am feeling inspired! Guess I just need to take a break.

    22. I now have Taeyang Nosferatu to join my Taeyang Sol. I had these two many years ago before I started collecting bjds. I found bjds thanks to them and then I sold them to fund bjds. Groove recently did a limited re release of Nosferatu so I grabbed him.

    28. Yes, thank you! I looked her up on Flickr and she is the Magic Attic Club Alison, she has blonde hair. She has blue jeans a pink top and a blue Jean jacket.

    29. @birdpaladin , robot dolls can be so appealing. These were by Quirky Qritters on etsy, she has a lot of unique, reasonably priced dolls.

    30. Well they're just adorable - I'd not encountered them before.

I see @Mu Shu beat me to it - I was about to say thats she looks like one of the 18" Magic Attic dolls and was guessing at Alison. I have Megan and had Keisha for a while but she went to one of my godchiildren. Megan went to a friend's daughter for a while, but came back to me when the daughter outgrew the doll-stage.

    34. I don't know if any of you are into Kewpies. I have a few Kewpie-esque dolls, they appeal to me for some reason . Obitsu has made some transparent ones that I just find irresistible. There's a large one that's quite pricey, but I actually prefer this two-inch keychain version. Much more reasonable and you can get a whole rainbow of tiny shoes for him.

    35. I've always found them cute but most of their appeal for me is that my mother loved them (and googly-eyed porcelain dolls)

I had no idea there were transparent ones available! Are the larger ones articulated at the shoulders etc. like actual dolls rather than fixed figurines like the keychain?

      • x 1
    40. @Teddy, I believe the arms and legs move on the larger Kewpie. Also the head turns, even the head on the little one does. The loop for the keychain turns too. I was thinking of trying to snip it off, but decided to put a ribbon through it instead.

    44. One of the doll brands that interested me for a few years is Integrity, especially their Poppy Parker dolls. I think she's really cute and her clothing is always so fun (60's & 70's fashion). This one however was designed by Jessy Ayala instead of her usual designer David Buttry so the outfit was more modern. It's pretty, but I wanted a softer look so I put her in this gorgeous dress by Pam Seeman of Paintbox Designs.
      [IMG]20251217_113601 by cabelle1863, on Flickr

I have also liked Robert Tonner's dolls for many years, his Wilde Imagination line is my favorite. Ellowyne is such a beautiful doll. When she first came out, I was only able to get a couple. My husband & I were raising 3 daughters and finances were tight. They're grown now, 2 with children of their own and I have more fun money to spend on my hobby. The Wilde Imagination line retired with the rest of the Tonner dolls, but they've come back in a way with some new sellers and I've been able to find some of the originals that I missed for reasonable prices on Ebay. The redheaded Ellowyne is Mary Lennox from Happily Ever After. My husband & daughter Beth (the one that got me into BJD dolls :love ) gave it to me for my birthday last year. Peter Pevensie from Narnia is in the back, and to the right with the raven hair is Boo Hoo. She's my grail Ellowyne, the one I thought I would probably never have. I got chills when I saw her on Ebay for a reasonable price. She's wearing a dress from one of the Ellowyne subscription boxes from Virtual Doll Convention because her original black & red outfit will stain her. I still get giddy when I look at her.

    46. Looks like you have a nice little collection of them.

I like Tonner dolls, and still have a few, but stopped buying from Tonner when I learned how badly he treats non-US stockists of Tonner dolls and experienced for myself how badly non-US members of the Tonner Collectors Club were treated in comparison to US based members. it put me right off buying any Tonner products no matter how much I like them.

    47. New The latest off-topic dolls added to my family are three Limited Edition 17" Disney dolls. Rapunzel, Mirabel Madrigal, and Asha.

They're quite well articulated (although Rapunzel can't sit properly without spreading her knees like a man on public transport - a frequent issue with dolls put out by Disney, I find), beautifully dressed and an absolute boon to Mint-in-Box collectors because the packaging is exquisite.

    48. New They're so pretty, Teddy! I like how Rapunzel comes with her frying pan and Pascal. :)

I have a few dolls that are probably not considered bjds but I think of them as my "bjd gateway dolls" because they helped me get over my nervousness of owning and caring for resin dolls. They're 12" Jamieshow Muses designed by OwenSu.

I currently have two of them in dresses by Rimdoll, and the third in a dress designed by Jason Wu for Integrity. I haven't put them in anything new for a while since I'm in the middle of reorganizing. They're beautiful and I love OwenSu's designs, but last month one of the business owners was very volatile on Facebook (in my opinion) and it made me extremely uncomfortable. So I'm going to take a break from these dolls for a while. I might even pack away the ones I have for a few months, I haven't decided yet. It's sad when an owner acts out and puts a layer of ick on the dolls you normally love, you know?

    50. New I was sad when you posted that about Robert Tonner, @Teddy . Disappointed too. It's really disheartening when creators turn out to be not so great humans. I've got other dolls I can share here instead. Maybe even the Jamieshow Muses because although I don't like the business owner, I do like the creator OwenSu and plan to enjoy the dolls I have from him anyway. :)

    51. New
It is, but that's no reason not to share the dolls you have, regardless of how unpalatable the creator is.

    55. New Awesome dolls and figures' photos once again! I really wanted the Heavy Industries 1:6 male (the original release), when that was a super limited pre-order. I even waited for the listing to go live, I heard people crashed their website due to how many of us there were. I didn't even get to see one single figure in my cart before it was gone. I didn't stay up, because I am an insomniac, so I was already awake. I was just not lucky enough to secure one (still keeping my fingers crossed I am able to get one of the multiple re-releases they've done of the OG 1:6 male, one day!).

On the meantime, I am slowly getting my backlog of (monthly) shipments from Japan, that had to wait stuck there for more than six months, due to the chaos that we're (USA) suffering from.

      August 2025 toy haul:

I hope to get some of the mystery box plushies as well, but when I saw these adorable BanDai Mofamofy Mofusand I had to get them:

      October 2025 toy-haul:

One of the highlights was my Polygon Sephy, since I wasn't able to get the tinier Kuji version nor the mystery box-set one, which is the same as the Kuji version:

As well as my NieR Replicant figure. Which Tumblr thought was inappropriate to show... for some reason? I am guessing it's the white pants, but who really knows:

November 2025 toy haul. I need to unbox one of my Kaneki:

Then I got a bunch of smaller toys throughout these past few months:

A BanDai Machiboke Sesshomaru gashapon figure in the far left, the others are Hugcot and Nemurasetai all by BanDai/Namco.

Two BanDai Namco Shanghai B-N Figure Q, Pajamars and Ramen mystery boxed Sasuke mini figues:

A Takara Tomy Kata Zun Light Yagami gashapon figure:

I got another mystery sets of toys, which I should probably stop but these are kind of addictive, particularly the bean sized micro figures. In my defense, I wanted the Black Box x Cosmic Toys Aaru since they were released a few years ago (the larger sized ones).:

I got Ra from the Aaru Garden Ancient Egypt Mythology series and no repeats from the Aaru Idol series, but no transparent ones this time either. Here's Ra next to Oolong Sweet Idol :

The other Aaru Idol beans I got, from far left to far right; regular Style Oolong Sweet Idol, Lemon Sweet Idol, Cocoa Sweet Idol, Peach Honey Idol, Mint Sweet Idol, Cocoa Honey Idol, and Mint Honey Idol:

From the Neo Eden Toys Light Nightmare mystery boxed dolls I really wanted Healer, and I got her, so I don't really need to get more. However, I would also have liked getting Prayer or Emotion, so I might still try getting those:

From the Bop Toys by Toy Bebop, I got Aquarius, Aries and Gemini:

    58. New She's so pretty! I like the Lacie sculpt. Is it LaCie or Lacie? I've seen it written both ways in many places so I have no idea!

I have one of the wigged basic versions of her, and I enjoy dressing her in the historical outfits from VDC's Grace Fitzgerald subscription boxes. Here she is socializing with Newt.
