Yes! I've ordered one too as it's such a perfect cute moth doll No idea what the posing will be like but that's always the way with unknown doll artists/ unusual dolls. Do you have any ideas in mind for shelling your one?

 

I love this little doll! So far I've been able to resist the siren call, but I'll be eagerly awaiting owner pics so I can live vicariously through them xD

 

Yes, I saw NCS had relisted the doll as $10 higher. I was a bit concerned about the 'too many orders' but I think that refers to the ordering period being made shorter. It's nice for the artist that there's been plenty of interest in thier doll, I just hope they can fulfil the orders

 

I had finally gotten to put an order in for one of these cuties! I was wondering if he was considered OT or not… I ordered mine in off white because I wasn’t certain how I wanted to paint him (Mothman or Mothra, Mothman or Mothra) I’ve got access to an airbrush though and figured paler would be an easier starting point.

Yay! Glad to see others ordered the moth. I worry I will be overwhelmed by all the moving pieces, but I am excited!

 

I've not had any update so far! I was assuming it would be the usual 6-ish months particularly as it seemed like they had a good amount of orders. But it's gives you time to get the supplies you need so hopefully you'll be ready when it does ship

I did order mine off the Taobao shop via an agent, so maybe that's why I got him so quickly? IDK...

 

Funny enough, I also ordered on Clover Singing on the same day! I've not had a shipping notification yet but i'm hoping it won't be too much longer if the artist has started sending them to agents

*LOL* Seems quite a few of us ordered on St Valentine's day! I think I will have to use that as inspiration and call my moth Valentine I'm thinking about designing my moth character based on the giant Leopard moth, maybe one of the ring markings can have a little heart shape inside...

I have no clue about what sort of painting I'll do... But I've at least considered making some sort of loincloth skirt, and making some unnecessary decorative leather straps/belt outfit-wise

 

Ah, my little Valentine moth has arrived!

I was struggling to imagine what size these guys were so nice to finally be able to see one in real life! It's nice that the elbows are double jointed as it allows the arms to be a bit more characterful when posing (I had thought they were single jointed). I love the big fluffy antennae and they turn all the way round so you can be expressive with them

I'm not sure about the wings, there doesn't seem to be a way to pose them and they flop around? Not sure if there's a trick to it or if I need to use some eye putty or something to hold them better? The doll carries a bit of weight at the back so here is a nice detail that the teardrop ends of the wings act as a tripod to help the doll stand.

I thought I'd try them with a pair of 20mm starry eyes I had that didn't work out for a different doll. I think they work well so might be their final eyes (I don't wanna have to buy more eyes XD). Now I can see how the doll looks in RL I'm definitely getting more of an idea of the faceup/body blush design I want to try for

And I can only agree @Epicari. The wings are floppy indeed... And they make them quite back-heavy.

 

Mine's been painted for so long, but I've just now gotten eyes for him
I'll still see about if I decide on any "fashion-accessories"

 

That reminds me, I really should get eyes for Mothman Jr. so I can paint him!
