Hey guys. Does anyone have experience sending a doll to the UAE? I know due to the nudity factor, there's a chance it could get detained at customs which is a massive risk. The buyer has buying feedback but no selling feedback but clearly has quite a few dolls and so has received them without issue before. But, naturally, I'm still a bit nervous about it. Does anyone have experience mailing or receiving dolls in the UAE? Any perspective of advice you can share?
If possible, I would message the buyer and ask if there is anything you can do to get the doll through easier? If anyone's going to know what potential issues might come up, it's probably them! Otherwise, if it were me (although this is just my best guess, I've never shipped to an area with these kind of restrictions), I would put some "clothes" on the doll when packing up, even if they're not really usable/wearable quality once they arrive - cut some scraps into some temporary undergarments, and make a "potato sack" dress or tie them up a little toga or bathrobe over that, maybe use a bit of tape to keep things on?
Hello, I'm from Saudi Arabia, and I can confirm that you'll have no issues shipping BJDs to the UAE. For one, the UAE actually has fewer restrictions. I've never had any dolls detained, so I doubt any issues with customs will happen there. If you'd like to take extra steps for self reassurance, this is all you have to do. Cover the doll's nudy bits within their box. Just some tissue or even safety wrap around the pelvis and chest is all you need. They won't bother unwrapping it once they see it's just a doll. The most likely reason they might examine the contents is for any dolls with small magnets for security reasons. (This is my speculation because one of my Dream Valley orders was indeed inspected. It had the most magnets of any of my dolls thus far. And the outer packaging had an "Inspected, no danger" customs label on it with a QR code.) Make sure to label your box as fragile. Fragile packages are less likely to be opened and they'll just contact the precipitant to ask what's inside with a receipt for proof of purchase. These have been my personal experiences. And again, never had a doll detained or taken by customs. So bar just doing the usual mail insurance, you're likely more than good to go Best of luck.
Chipping in with my two cents, but I sent something to the UAE a year or two ago and had no issues with dolly nudity. She was a Pukifee and I shipped her with a little bit of white fabric over her body and had no issue.
