Wait Times Shipping Delay from Norway? Info about Carry On Cash?

    1. I'm waiting on a package from Norway, which was shipped via Carry On Cash on Dec 22. The tracking narrative is:

      Package has been sent from origin country
      2010-12-23 08:36 0024 OSLO
      Package has been sorted and forwarded
      2010-12-23 08:07 0024 OSLO
      Package has been handed in at terminal and forwarded
      2010-12-22 21:05 6410 MOLDE

      There's been no change or updates to the tracking info since 12/23. Shipping for this service is $60, and according to the website Carry On Cash packages should arrive as early as 3 days after shipping. (Probably to countries in Europe, not overseas, but still.) I know with the holidays there's going to be delay, but this seems extreme and I'm getting worried.

      Does anyone have experience knowing exactly how long this service takes to get a package to the USA? With such a high shipping cost I'm really surprised at the slow process.

    2. The package will take a little bit longer to arrive at your home because of the past x-mas & new year season. So don`t worry your package will arrive soon ;-)
       
    3. What a coincidence, I have a package from Norway shipped by COC as well. Mine has been shipping since 6th of December and almost a month and still nothing. The tracking hasnt been updating either. Pretty worried as well since the seller mentioned that COC was supposed to be like EMS = fast? But the seller told me to be patient since it's the holiday season.

      Wow! Well, I'm sorry you're in the same situation, but at least it's not just my package that's delayed. Still, paying over fifty bucks for shipping, I would expect faster delivery than this. I know the snows have caused delay with the UK post, and I wonder if that's one of the points of transfer for packages from Oslo.

      Ugh. I could have ordered it from MoC and it would have gotten here faster, and cost about the same. -_-; I don't blame my seller at all, but I'm not turning into a big fan of Norwegian mail services. My poor boy was supposed to have a body by Christmas.
       
    5. Wow, really?? I shipped a package to Finland USPS Priority on the 15th, which should have only taken 6-14 days. It left the USA through Chicago on the 17th, but it hasn't updated since then and my buyer hasn't received it yet. I've started an investigation on it to try and find it, but it's a bit relieving and worrying to see others in the same situation, even overseas. A family member suggested bad weather as a possibility because with these wait times, holidays are becoming less and less of a likelihood.
       
    6. Well... it's over a month and nothing! I PM'd the seller and she checked with her post office to find out the package is in The Netherlands?? A month of shipping and still in Europe...?? She told me to wait a week or two more before she asked her PO to start an investigation...

      How about you? Any words/package on your side?
       
    7. Ugh, I was hoping you'd have good news! Still no change from here. I scoured all over the Norway post website yesterday looking for a customer service email, but nothing. I'd call, but odds are they wouldn't have anyone who speaks English.

      I don't care if there are holidays, this is far too much delay for something that's supposed to be an expedited service--and an expensive one at that.

      I'm wondering if my local post office would know something about this kind of delay.

      I'm going to send an email with my tracking number and package information and hopefully they can tell me what the problem is. You might want to do the same, bulletsBANQ.
       
    8. This is another odd coincidence but I am waiting for a package from Norway as well, I found this thread through a Google search about tracking my package. My doll was sent out from Norway on Dec 17, and like you I cannot track it,and I am getting pretty much the same message as you when I try... I feel somewhat better knowing that I'm not the only one worrying about where my doll is :...(
       
    9. I have sent the following letter to the customer service email listed above:
      I'll let you know the response I get, if any at all. Frankly, this has put me off of buying anything from sellers in Norway again, which is unfortunate, because it's not their fault at all. But to be honest, next time I will be more likely to buy new. And that's really something I try to avoid, because I like the community of exchange in our marketplace. It usually saves a little money and time, too, but in this case I'm out more of both.
       
    10. My package was also sent from Oslo on Dec 17, and the person that sent it is going into the Post Office this week to find out what she can. I told her about the rest of you that are waiting, and hopefully she can find something out.
       
    11. Nothing today as well but I got stuffs that were sent by airmail after the package from Norway! >.> I hope you can get some info on your package with that email! I may try sending an email as well. I find it kinda absurd that such an expensive shipping method takes so long to ship :B

      I already called my seller to find out what happened. And I want a full refund if I dont get my package by the end of this week. It's takiiiiing way too long. I hope your seller will find out something useful!
       
    12. Thanks! I hope she can tell us what the problem is! I haven't gotten a response yet to my letter, which is disheartening.

      This is just really beyond ridiculous. I mean, how many other people are waiting on parcels, if we're just a tiny fraction of people in a tiny side-hobby? Did ANY mail get out of Norway last month? Honestly! I should PM my seller as well and ask her if she knows what the problem might be. When she shipped him out she said it might take "2-3 weeks" because of the holidays, and I thought she was giving a conservative estimate. I thought that was a long wait for a $60 shipping charge, and I didn't yet know that the Posten site said it should only take 5-7 business days for overseas. I'm hoping she can tell me something, but I know she's not responsible for her nation's mail service and is probably just as much in the dark as we are! It's a mess on both ends.

      Also, that same page with ship times said that carry on cash is delivered "to the recipient's post office" not the 'mail box' or 'home delivery' listed for the other items. But surely my post office would not get this parcel for me and hold it, without delivering it to my door or even giving me a notification. That's just absurd. :p Maybe I should call them anyway.

      EDIT Well, I got a response to my email, but it's not very helpful.

      Considering I don't have a copy of my address label (remarkably enough, as I DIDN'T SEND THE PACKAGE AND IT IS NOT HERE, so HOW WOULD I HAVE THE LABEL), it looks like I actually can't do anything to find out where my package is, and my seller will have to look into it instead. *sigh* I already sent her one PM today, I hate to be a nag and send her another on top of it.
       
    13. I would have been panicking if I bought a whole doll, but I just bought a head so I'm not going crazy ...yet. Absolutely ridiculous. When the seller told me the packages was in Netherlands, I was like "what the heck, a month of shippong and the package is still in EU? What kind of shipping method is that?"

      All of my stuffs got sent to the PO so it's no big issue for me, but my PO will call me when there are stuffs for me and still no head yet >.> The seller promised to check with her PO and see what's holding the package up. And that... email is not very useful at all. I hope all of us here will have things work out in the end! *crosses fingers*

Okay, my tracking has finally updated! my doll is now in the USA!!! so it took from Dec 17th to Jan 11 for my tracking to update from "leaving Oslo" to "having cleared USA customs", so I should have my doll in a few days.. I was sweating it, this is a $700 doll! I hope that the rest of you have the same results soon. And the seller is still going to inquire at her Post Office about the delay so I will pass that info on here.
       
    15. Yaay! Oh, I'm so glad, especially since I think you're the one with the most money out there in limbo. (I don't know how much Praesagium is waiting to arrive in Finland, though.) I hope we start to see some motion! Maybe they're finally moving past the holiday/snow backlog. I'd hate to think it's this slow all the time. :p

      LOL I told my partner that next time I'm having it shipped by carrier pigeon. :D Mine's only a DZ body, which is something I could always get from somewhere else if I had to. But that's still $250 I don't want to spend again. :P I'd be dying if it was a whole doll or god forbid a limited or something.

      I`m actually kinda scared now, since both you and bulletsBANQ`s packages was sent from me and the shipping is taking so long. (I`m mostly afraid you guys are going to start accusing me for never having sent the packages or something :...( )

      I`ve contacted custom service AGAIN and they said they couldn`t do ANYTHING.
      BUT! He told me that if the packages havent arrived in one week I can submit a complaint. Which i`m going to do, because this is just annoying.

      bulletsBANQ: The CarryOn cash system IS similar to EMS. We don`t offer EMS in Norway but we have CarryOn instead. And it normally takes maximum 2 weeks ( +/- depending on where in the world the packages is sent to).
      And I`m sorry if my answers haven`t been informative enough, but I jsut said what the PO and customer service told me :(


      Both of you: This is not just stressing/a burden for you but also for me. I`m doing my best okay?!
      But there`s not much I can do when the people at the post office tells me that custom service can track down the packages and when I call them they tell me they can`t??

      To try and comfort you both I marked the packages as "Return immediately to sender in case of non delivery" so If they get lost they will be sent back to me. And then I`l ship them out to you again, for free ofc. Thats the least i can do.
       
    17. Thanks so much for all your help with this! I hope you know that if I sound frustrated or annoyed it's really really not directed at you, just at the postal service. I know that once the packages are out of your hands you really don't have any control over what happens to them.

      And both the packages are in the Posten system somewhere so there's no doubt in my mind that you sent them. ^_^ I don't doubt your honesty at all! I can tell you're doing all you can to get some answers, and I really appreciate it.

      LOL I had not realized before now that Bullets and I were getting two halves of the same original doll. ^_^;

    20. I just thought I'd throw in a comment on Norwegian Post system: Around xmas they are slow. Ridiculously slow. Parcels inside Norway normally arriving in 2 days, are delivered 3 weeks later than usual.

      With the snow chaos in Europe just before Xmas, PEOPLE were prioritized before mail, so people could get home for Xmas. Lots of mail was pot on hold for the air traffic to get back to normal.

      THIS is why your parcels are late :)

      If it's any comfort, EMS parcels from Korea to Norway took 3-5 weeks longer than usual over this xmas ;)
       
    21. Yep, this. I don't think it was really publicized much, but all air traffic came to a grinding halt and once it resumed, people that were stranded in the airport took priority over the post, which is the way it should be.


      I sent a Juri06 head to MiKil in Northen Finland. We had it fully insured, declared and such, but the tracking number hasn't updated since Dec. 17th. He's called Itella to ask if they have it, but nope. USPS isn't proving to be much help either. We're approaching about a month wait so all we can is sit and twiddle our thumbs until I can claim it as lost and get a refund or it pops up somewhere.

    23. Thanks for the info, Idril! Mostly at this point I'm just annoyed by Posten's lack of communication about the delay. If it wasn't for the forum, and if I'd just ordered from a business in Norway, I would have no idea why my package was taking so long, or if it was lost, or whatever. It wouldn't kill them to put a notice on their site!

      BUT the good news is that this morning my tracking has finally updated! OMFG YAY! It has arrived in the US and cleared customs, so it should be at my door in the next couple of days. Phew! (ahah, thanks, St. Expeditus!)

      I hope you get some good news soon, bulletsBANQ!
       
    24. Got my package today! Safe and sound! The package did stay in Singapore for over a week before arriving to me though. And good news to you too, tenshi_no_korin! I hope your body arrives safe and sound as well! :)
       
    25. Nothing yet on my end. USPS has been in touch with Itella so the package is officially being filed as lost (as far as I know). Tracking still hasn't updated, no sight or sound of the box... Sucks. :( Thank goodness my buyer and I decided to fully declare and insure it.
       
    26. Glad to hear you got your box, BulletsBANQ! Mine is still listed as being "in sorting" but since it was a three-day postal holiday here in the states (and a massive ice storm) I'm not surprised it's taking an extra day or two on this end.

      Sorry yours didn't turn out better though, Praesagium. I'm glad at least you had the coverage on it. I hope it was something that can be easily replaced. :p
       
    27. Well, It's been more than a day or two. :( My package hasn't moved at all or had any tracking update since it said it left customs on Jan 14. If it has left customs, there should be nothing keeping it from going on a truck and coming to my post office! I'm only a few hours away from NYC.

      I'm so fed up with all this.
       
    28. My package turned up! It was registered by Itella on 26.1.11 and my buyer will be picking it up in a couple days. Phew. I hope the head is okay.

    30. Ugh, $120 for shipping? Mine was $60, which is bad enough.

      Mine is still stuck somewhere between customs and me, even though apparently it arrived in the US on Jan 14. I'm still waiting to hear back from my seller about the claim on the package, but I'm out over $200, so I totally understand your frustration. I can't say I'm really happy with Norway's mail service. It took them a month to get my box out of Europe.
       
    31. Yeah, its a Soom Chalco, the whole doll and his box so I knew it'd be expensive to ship but...
      I was told "Carryon Cash" was the equivalent to EMS. So as I was told "3-5 Business days to Australia"
      Which as I'm learning, is completely not the case. First the post office gives my seller a tracking number from a FORMER package so its completely wrong, THEN I find out "Sorted and Forwarded" means pretty much nothing other than he's now probably sitting in a freezing cold warehouse somewhere in Norway getting frost damage. The icing on the cake would be for him to come broken, then i'd probably explode.

      I hope your package is okay! I've called the customs in Australia twice to confirm he wont get stuck in there.
      Ugh, if it takes a month for me I'll probably scream.

      If my package is not here by at least Wednesday next week, I swear I will ask for a shipping refund, this is ridiculous.

      Edit:
      I rang Australia Post today and the lady said that carryon cash is not an express service, its a regular airmail service, somewhere between Priority and First Class mail. She said my parcel is probably sitting in a warehouse waiting for a passenger plane to australia to appear so it can be put on it. And that I should probably expect to get my package on the 4th of march or sometime next week if it moves soon.


      I am officially, pissed off.

      I've ordered a wig from someone in Norway and it's been a month.

      I'm not sure what to think or how to handle it.

Sigh, he's still stuck there, my seller rang up her postal system and they told her that customs "forgot" to clock the package in and that hopefully it should move soon and they'd call her back later. I'm getting sick of this crappy mail system >.< at least my postal system has offered once he's in australia to express him up here possibly.
