    1. I thought it's better to post my dollie's WIP photos here :))

She'll be my first BJD, that's why she's only 39cm tall. I treat her rather as a practice doll. Ofc when I'll be better with dollmaking my creations will be bigger :p

This is a semi-technical drawing of her

Now I've got only the core cutted in florist foam, with some straws in neck, shoulders and hips area. Arms and legs gonna be sculpted separately on this black straws. I have to wait for multitool grinder (my bf is taking care of it ;) ) and big big shopping in all art supplies stores, stationers, tool shops etc. :XD

(my mobile's camera is horrible :pout sorry for blurring)
More of my progress for about 3-4 weeks.

    2. Thank you for sharing your work-in-progress photos with us.
I think those photos are very good.
She looks very close to your working drawings.
I am looking forward to seeing more progress on her.
      Have Fun !!!

    3. Ahh at last I bought paper clay and started work with my doll :D
I found that paper clay is best material for me to work with, it's easy to shape, and after drying it's nearly indestructible :)) I think polyclay would be nice too, but now it's too expensive for me (I have to buy materials for cosplay costumes now).
Unfortunatelly still don't have grinder to precise work, so everything had to be shaped before drying.
Now I've made hands, feet, arms, head and base for body.
But I have to admit, that dolls smaller than 50cm are hard to sculpt. Too much small pieces to do. Fortunately FenDoll (my short for Fenris and doll :))) is 55cm and next ones will be at least 55 or bigger.

BTW I love her hands :D

    4. I agree about the smaller dolls being harder to sculpt, (I think SD is the ideal scale for me to work at, I have huge admiration for anyone who can make tinies!) I also love her hands, I think the right hands really bring a doll to life. Very neat-looking headcap join, too. That's something I can never manage to achieve, it seems. DX
She's looking great so far. ^^

    5. I like how she's coming along. I should've done plastic wrap with mine! Good idea, I love her hands and her arm looks really well done. Discobiscuit is right head cap lines are hard! You've done well though.:D

    6. I hope you finish the head. I really like the expressions she has in the sketches.. ^^ You've got a good start and I'm looking forward to seeing the head done.
