Maintenance Sharing : How I store my dolly stuffs

Feb 4, 2023

    1. [How to store dolly stuffs?]

I feel this question had been asked often, but no one really make a thread starting with how they doing them.

So, THIS is my version

About me : I collect only 1/4 Scale dolls for your reference

      What I use :
IKEA 4 drawers dark brown cabinet < This is exactly what I use, but you can use any drawers with a good size.

So this is the inside detail.

How do I store clothing : Inside zip-lock bags.

And I put them in drawer like this. One bag contain a dress set. You can store about 30-40 sets in 1 story.

How do I store wigs : Inside cake box

You can find this on taobao or aliexpress, the one in picture fits in the aforementioned drawers. You can put 40 of them in 1 drawer. Up to 2 short hair wigs can share the same box.

(So, when you run out of space that might mean you have over 80 wigs... that's a bit too much, in my opinion :sweat)

How do I store shoes : I use a separate 3-Stories box. The box is from 'Osechi Dishes' in the new year here where I live.

The upper story for shoes and sandals, the lower for boots... Or maybe just how can I puzzled them'down to fit
Edit : Picture Updated [Jan 2026]

How do I store eyes : Shoes box

When you buy a new shoes, they usually give you a shoes box. I just choose the one that I like, and that's enough eyes for all the crew

Edit : [Jan 2026] Hopefully I can add a good way to store accessories, props and furniture next time

    2. Wow. This gives me some good ideas. I just have everything inside the shipping box from one of the dolls… xD
I will go for the zip bags first.

    3. How do you store clothing that is made of special material and need special care like silk? Is zip loc bag okay for silk clothing?

      Edit:

I just realized I have a silk outfit for my doll, but I don't spend much on my own clothing or even have a silk outfit for me. Somehow that is funny to me.

    4. I don't have any doll cloth that made by silk. And barely have anything made from silk in my home... :sweat

But, I also store my wool/cashmere sweater (for human) In zip-lock while it's summer to prevent wool moths, so I think it should work too (?)

    6. Oh thank you, thank you for this. I have a problem with doll stuff, it’s all over the place. I have managed to put things in zip-bags and boxes but they are not very organised because each doll insists on having their own clothes and woe betide anyone who nicks someone else’s clothes/shoes etc. I notice that you have not gone down this route and it’s something to think about. I have different sized dolls so would probably stick to sizes.
Mmmm must have a look at what Ikea stock, other than “billy bookcases” that is.

    7. I need to organize my outfits better, right now I just have one decorative box for each size. Your post has inspired me to get bags that I can store vertically in those boxes.
