I’m sharing my pattern for tight fitting jeans, which I made for my Souldoll Jinwoo (his name is Raiu) – although they also fit my Fantasy Doll boy (all-be-it a little looser). To make a pair of slim fitting jeans for Limhwa Mano add: - three millimetres or 1/8 inch to seams - five millimetres or 2/8 inch to the waist and I added 4 cm to the hem to make them extra long – although 3cm or just over an inch would be okay. Seam allowances are 7mm or ¼ inch, and a turned under hem of 1cm or 3/8 inch. Please note, these patterns are ‘as I use them’ so they don’t look very neat – this one was made out of a page of an old sketch books and sticky notes. Also I don’t think in inches so sorry if I got the measurements wrong. Also – please ignore any of my dodgy sewing. To print out – just make sure to print at 100% and then glue the overlapped patterns together. Limha Mano in jeans – these were made with some thick denim – so you may not need the whole 3mm added. Thanks very much everyone! Devyn star – You will have to resize it, sorry but I’m not sure what percentage you would use but the waist measurement for these jeans are 23.6cm and the hip is 27.2cm. You could measure your doll’s hip, multiply by 100 and divide it by 27.2 for the percentage you would print it out as but the proportions could be off.
I do not see a pattern for the waist band. Did I miss it? Can to give the dimensions for this? Thanks!! for the pattern!
when i printed this pattern, the back half came out longer than the front half...is this how its suspose to be?
MsHatbox – I forgot about the waist band because I don’t use a pattern for them – I just draw it onto the fabric. I make the waistbands 4.5cm by 25cm. However I make it a little longer just to be sure and then check it against the jeans when I have all the seams and fly sewn. petit-angel & Kyndell – lol it is Stitch – I used to draw him a lot for my students. torimiko – it does look like it is longer but when you match the front and back side seams, they should be the same. I’m pretty sure that James has jeans for MSD - http://www.denofangels.com/patterns/james/ Thanks very much – I’d love to see photos of finished jeans - it would be nice to know how the pattern works for others and on other dolls.
Quick and super-special question, because, er, I'm dense, BUT - would these trousers merrily fit a LUTS boy? Or will I have to alter them? Cheers!
I was just wondering, where did you find the snaps? I am still looking for some nice pewter or silver snaps arounf that size, or around 1/4 inches. but I just can't seem to find them. I did buy some Dritz doll snaps from TinnyZippers, but they only have white, black, and Pearl colors.
Lupie-Stardust - I assume that it they would fit - but I don't have one to check for you. Michikaru - I bought them from a haberdashery store - but I'm looking into getting snaps from a leather work catalogue. DenalieWind - thank you!
Thank you so much, Pammymela; this pattern is wonderful! I've made two pairs of trousers for my Elfdoll Mir from it, and I just love them! I can't wait to find a nice light denim to try some proper jeans too. The plaid pants were done from a cotton summer dress, and I kept the original hem to save work. Came out a little looser, since I think I used a slightly smaller seam allowance while working on my machine. The black print fabric got a little washed out by the flash, so now all the flaws show. LOL This was the first pair I did from your pattern. Not the most forgiving fabric to work with, but makes some nice pants. I did these by hand while watching the Tour de France, so the neatness of the stitches is inversely proportional to the excitement of the race. Trying to work up my courage to tackle my first zipper next time. Might still add some belt loops and back pockets on these, but they look fab even without.
Michikaru - a sewing stuff store takkitackey - sorry they won't fit ryoko11 - they look great! I'm really glad someone's used my pattern! They may be a little looser because the fabric you used isn't as thick as denim - so come in a mm (from 7mm to 8mm) when you sew the hems. sweetchan - your welcome! Go Aussies!
Thank you for the pattern! I made a (somewhat) cleaned up version if you would like to use it (just using the line tool, haha- it's not super great, but it's in black and white for easier printing): http://www.rustybubble.net/Jinwoojeans1.pdf http://www.rustybubble.net/Jinwoo2.pdf
These are very nice... Other than the waistband, are there any other parts left out of the pattern? I'm pretty noob at making jeans so I just want to be sure. Also, are the dolls still able to sit down in these jeans? I might try to make a pair of these...my girl is greatly lacking in pants, and wants to get out of a skirt for once XD
Norma - please post photos of you mano in them! I've only made one pair for my big guy so I don't really know how they would go for other people. Ailieru - thanks for that - I've been meaning to to that myself for a while (thank you for putting my name of them too) Rai-Kun - I haven't posted pockets but everything else is there. I don't own a girl so I'm not sure if they would fit her. I've been adjusting the pattern a little so I will post more soon.
I might be [as in the very smallest, smallest chance] getting a DOT sometime [hopefully] soon. And I think I might be a little... er... challenged when it comes to searching the internet. ...How tall are the Jinwoos? I know DOTs are like... 64 cm tall. So I'd need to adjust how long they were corresponding. Then... is the pink part at the bottom the optional added length to make them extra long? ...and lastly [yeah, I have a lotta random questions and suck at understanding pretty simple things... xD] how do you make the pockets? Thanks for the pattern, though! If I get him, he'll probably have a pair!
Thank you again for posting this pattern! Here are my first pants for my "To L" (and my first clothes for any doll!). He's not here yet, so I can't show them on an actual doll. That is why I haven't hemmed them, either, or added the waist closure. Faux leather: Jeans (I made these from a pair of my husband's old ones):
Thanks for sharing! Just a question about the Mano adaptaion: By 5 mm to the waist, do you mean at the top, or horizontally? And if horizontal, 5 mm in total or 5mm to each seam?
Ah, this is what I'm looking for... I've been having trouble with flies and wanted to see how other people have worked them out on a tiny scale. I cleaned up the patterns in Illustrator for my own printing needs, and I put them in my photobucket over here. Additionally, here's instructions on some little details for those who aren't as familiar with sewing clothing:
Coyotesparrow, if you still need it, PM me. Anyhow, just wanted to to share that the pattern works beautifully reduced to 75% for my Dollmore MSD. I also used it for some awesome corduroys for this boy.
Try this one: http://www.mediafire.com/?8loxs0ncuxxc729 The other seems to actually open the pdf file and show it before you can click download. This should go right to the download page.
Summer pants are done! Too much fun to get different looks from these! Every house should have a resin boy who says, "Spangled leopard print? Daddy like!" In my home... Mitchy is that doll: Hard to see against the pattern, but there are functional pockets on front and back: I also did pants for Cecil... in a much softer and summery style: Functional pocket details front and back and belt loops.
it seems necessary to do of the more smear material .. clung to more.. I don't like how jeans sitting on the priest.. I don't know why((
