Sewing a doll, for your doll!

If you look on Y! Japan you can find dolls that look like that. I dont think they where a particular brand, they apear to be 50's baby dolls.

 

I'm love with the same doll and can't find any info either!

I don't buy off of Y!J, so I was wondering if there were any other places to get some doll items or fabric of this particular doll.

 

KoalaJoe has a post in the Gallery with that exact little doll next to her Mini May, and they're both wearing the same dress and bonnet.

Dolly Dolly #1 had an article on the vintage ragdolls and a pattern.

 

there was one that came with one of the new pullips, and on the advertisement/promo photos for her it was labelled as a Showa doll.

btw... if you find a fabric to make them from, I want one too!

This page seems to have an abundance of vintage patterns. They're photocopies of the original patterns, so I'm not sure what the copyright info is on it. I know after 40-60 years that copyright has to be re-established or things become public property, but I'm not sure if these fit the bill or not. You might also try going to the thrift shop and buying up some of the used patterns, they're like 25 cents each. X3 I inherited some from my sister-in-law.

 

I've googled "Showa" before (that's what I came up with when first looking) but it does cover a broad range of dolls throughout different eras. I didn't ever seem to find exactly this type of doll.

 

The name of the doll is はなちゃん Hana~chan.... I think

I use to se her around YjA and its very cute.
I love specially the fabrics that got her as pattern, really lovely ---> Hana-chan / Eiko Kimura Fabrics

 

These dolls are known as bunka ningyou (文化人&#24418.

 

AWESOME! SO CUTE! I remembered I had a cloth doll pattern, so heres some links to it, its pretty cute finished, and it wouldnt be hard to make a diffrent shape or size of doll just by copying the method.
