Early test picture. Orchid is now on display at a Library in Long Island, NY. She was ordered by another artist who wanted a "huge" doll to costume. She is 1/3 scale (SD size). I am now working on a gallery show for www.wootini.com that starts Nov. 11. All ball jointed dolls (and a few of my watercolors). Yes, I'm nervous about my first real show, thus posting the test pics here, and because one of the other nice members told me not to be shy. Cheers! Angel Devil
I'm looking forward to your Wootini gallery show!! I checked out the site from the link in your other post, and really enjoyed seeing your stuff there (arrrghhh, want Bunny #1!!) . . . Orchid has a great, expressive face . . . do you have any larger/closer pics of her? I'd love to see the outfits that the other artist made for her, too! -- Andi (glad you're not being shy *grin*)
These are the only pictures I took before shipping her off... but I hope to have better ones in the future. The stuff for the wootini show is going to be good. And they WILL post the pictures online. Glad you like my stuff!
The clay I use is Cernit-- Super Strong and nice surface so I don't have to sand it (I hate sanding). It looks a bit like resin, which, I hope, is the nest step. However, Cernit is heat sensitive and can be a bitch to sculpt with. It takes time to get the technique down. Totally worth it though. Glad you like her! I will have a bunch of dolls in that style in the gallery show in November. I will try to post more pictures of the new stuff.
