I know I have several Alan sculpts already, but this guy was listed for a month secondhand and it physically hurt me that no one had bought him yet. So... here we be. Alan purchase number six, but the fifth to arrive, was picked up from the post office yesterday and unboxed after I got off work at 9pm. The lighting is rather yellow, since I was entirely reliant on our incandescent bulbs. No closed box pictures, because I know myself and I'd forget to blur out the addresses. He came in a big, wide box that was just tall enough to fit his Fairyland box inside. My housemate ignored my excited squealing easily due to years of practice. I couldn't help it! I love this sculpt so much, and opening the box to see that beautiful Minifee booklet gets me every time. He came with two COAs - one for the body and another for the head, since the person who bought the head that was originally on the body only wanted a copy. I flipped one over and placed it for modesty after clearing away the packaging to use as a cat distraction, since he didn't give me permission for fully nakey pics. Squee! My beautiful boy! You can see the two blue wigs he came with to the side of the more zoomed-out pic. I didn't take any pictures with them, because they need some serious maintenance after the long trek from Australia to Alaska. I did, however, capture a cute photo with the Koala the seller included! I was going to give him Draco Malfoy coloring and dress him as a posh boarding school brat. Then I saw those gorgeous yellow eyes, and, well... the final picture rather speaks for itself. I'll start a project journal for creating the outfit for warlock Mordecai Blair once I've found some nice flowy black fabrics that will work well for D&D costuming. Mmmm... This one is going to be fun to work on!
Wow, six? That's awesome you found a sculpt you love so much! From your other dolls, Alan is a lot more versatile than I thought.
I haven't even had a repeat combo of size, skin tone, and gender yet! But I'm definitely having fun exploring the versatility of the sculpt!
It honestly seems like a good challenge! Sometimes I feel like I shouldn't repeat dolls I love, but seeing how you play around with the sculpt makes it look like a lot of fun. There's always so many different mods you can try too. The options are endless.
It is a lot of fun! I doubt I'll ever mod anything other than ears, though, because I love the look of the sculpt as-is so very much. They really are! The irises are a bit big for my preference, though, so I ordered a couple pairs of Dollmore's My Self DIY eyes to see if I can make a pair with my nail art glitter that will be a better size. Maybe see if I can give them a little more depth too by combining shades? That'll go in the project journal once stuff starts arriving.
I'm really looking forward to your Draco in full image! Congratulations on the arrival of the newcomer!
