Yeah, I bet. Also, surrounded by bodies is better than surrounded by heads xD the expensive part of the doll is out of the way then (except clothes... wigs... eyes... shoes... accessories...)

Bought a Han Bi Only-Doll/AOD hybrid off of eBay. He is in the mail.
He will be my first MSD, I just wonder how I will handle him. I have 70cm and SDs - he will be so small...

He is supposed to be a little brother, so this will give me a story line challenge (he is already more than just a spark in his mama's eyes)

Hi everyone! Congrats on arrivals and congrats on ordering to all of you!

I myself just ordered a Fantasy Doll 60cm Male body in NS from someone here on DOA I cannot tell you how excited I am. The body is for one of my second hand (more like 3rd hand) heads. The head came to me in really rough shape (someone tried to dye him, so he looks like he has blue bruises all over his face), but i love him anyway, and now he's getting his body!

 

I'm getting a Volks Chii from Japan! She should be here some time in the next week... I'm really excited!

 

Oh my gosh, congrats, Ed! ^_^ I'm sure she'll blend in real well with all your DD girls at home.

I just paid for an Unoa Sist and eagerly awaiting for her to be shipped and on her way home!

This has been one of my grail dolls for a really long time, so I'm glad I could make my dream a reality!!

 

Last payment is done and Inkeri will leave Iowa on tuesday! I'm so looking forward to holding her in my hands! Two weeks more to go...

I'm waiting on a Dollshe Saint head. He was my second choice when I decided to buy myself my first bjd in March. Since he's second hand, it looks like he will be the first to arrive.

Hello everyone, thanks for sharing your positive experiences. It helps against my nervousness - I'll be checking my emails constantly tomorrow as I've had a Unoa B-El boy from the marketplace here on hold for like 1 1/2 months, and now it's getting very real.... He's my first 2nd hand doll (and definitely the only one this year). EDIT: That was fast. Never expected him to be here so soon! But everything worked out perfectly .

 

So excited! As much as I am nervous about my beautiful Luts Winter 2013 Event head, I fell in love when I opened it and it even SMELLED new!

Also, paying off a body for one of my boys today! So excited to finally get my Migidoll Rhy head a home! He is PERFECT for my boy Antal.

 

When I came home today I found a letter, telling me that my parcel from the US has arrived. Tomorrow morning I'll pick up Inkeri at the customs office! I'm dancing for joy!

 

I'm so excited to join this waiting room! Today I bought my very first BJD, an Ipldoll Iplchild Sissy, from a lovely DoA member. She will ship on Friday and hopefully it won't take more than a week or so. It will be a while before I can purchase eyes and a wig for her, which is a bit of a shame, but I am extremely excited to be waiting for my first real BJD!

 

I am waiting for my second hand zaoll muse! I paid for her five days ago and still haven't been contacted by the seller. I know it was a holiday weekend here in the USA so I hope she gets shipped soon!

Hi, I guess I am back here . Please wish me luck. I can't breathe . Just made what I believe to be a very risky purchase but if this turns out to be a mistake, there's no one else to blame but me. Hi everyone! I am waiting for/ paying off a Secondhand Soom Dio Body that I should get next month! He is going to be hybrided with either a Chiron Centaur head (bought direct from Souldoll, along with horns) and Simply Divine Hooves to make him into a Demon Saytr thing. I have plans for a tail too! Gah. So exciting.

 

One more payment - this wednesday and my Dollshe SA Hound will be heading my way. OMG I'm so excited.

Hi nexus what are your plans for the tail? Edit: I'm curious, cause I'm waiting on a blank Soom Heliot who made me wonder whether he might need a tail, too. And even though I was worried over the top, he made it from Russia to Austria in just a few days and has been cleared customs free today. soon he'll be at his new home :-). EDIT: He arrived today! And he's stunning. Everything here and intact. He's in great condition, just needs to be cleaned a bit. I'm truly relieved. Shipping via EMS was $100 extra but it was totally worth it.

Eolomea I actually made a thread to get ideas and designs. My design idea was to have a fully jointed and articulated tail, which I would commission to be 3-D printed as its going to be painted (still working out the details, need the body first) but you are more than welcome to post and talk with me there or in pm :3 a simple tail (with strong magnet if you prefer) can be made with a medium gauge wire (I happen to like copper a lot, I have a ton.) Can be bent into the shape you want and then covered with sculpty or other type of clay and voila.

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I posted anything on this site, been super busy, but I want to get active again!!! I'm still waiting for my first doll, a Doll Love Alice that's secondhand. I just have one or two (depends how much I get paid haha) payments left to the owner and then she will ship her out for me! We both live in the U.S. so she should come pretty fast!!! I'M SO EXCITED!!! How do you keep yourself from dying from the wait?

 

First doll wait is horrible >.< Especially layaway/from a company.
I got mine many years ago so I don't really remember how I kept myself busy then....for the ones I get now I look at faceup styles, eyes, wigs, clothing and just picture how I want them to look. Try to work out personality and stuff like that.
(And play a lot of video games xD)

 

I actually worked out my doll's personality and everything, but I'm still looking up what I want for her style and everything, I'm just so darn excited. I've been playing a lot of video games too. It's really fun to talk to other people who love and know about ball-jointed dolls too, it definitely helps with the wait. How old was everyone when they got their first doll?

 

Yea... I have been looking at a lot pictures of the sculpt im geting to see... but I never saw any thing like what I want him to look like... his name is Lucien and he is a silly little dragon... he loves to cuddle with me and nibble on my fingers. ^.^

 

Oh wow Nexus , thanks for sharing your thread, I had no idea you were aiming for fully articulated. For a unicorn, I'd just imagine a kind of basic stem for the "horsehair", no joints involved even though a whipping tail would be awesome . And unicorns with more lion-like tails are common actually. Still, I'm totally not on an eye-to-eye level with you here, it's like kindergarden to university level, but one day... Once this boy has been brushed, faceupped, dressed... I'd love to be able to surprise him with a tail.

My sister got hers at 12, she saw mine and wanted to adopt one of them herself, so she has a Tender Too :3
I'm still stuck in the backlog from DZ as well, ordered in March and still waiting ;.; That's been the worst one so far for me. I think that's why I bought two more while waiting xD

 

Eolomea I can actually help with a unicorn tail. I used to mod Breyer Horses and such (I still need to finish one.) If you want to, I can pm you and help you out with that, so this forum stays on topic. I know a few methods to make a pretty good tail, though to have it magnetic, would take a bit more modding, but definitely nothing huge done to your doll :3

 

Thank you, Nexus! I'll happily get back to you when I have the guts! Right now the urge to make a tail is not that strong though (first things first), but it's so good to know who to turn to. I love Breyer horses btw .

I am waiting (very excitedly) for a Soom Antares. I had said to myself no more but I saw him and fell in love. I am naming him David. He will be the largest doll I own as my others are between 58 and 66cm.
There will be no more....................................

 

So I made quite an impulse buy today xD I bought a DZ 1/4 Mo in tan. He's part way through a girl to boy mod, which I intend to finish as he's perfect for a character I'm in the middle of creating. I've paid and I think he may be shipped tomorrow.

UPDATE. Soom Bod was put in the mail on 8/7/14 from Great Britain/England ..... and on 8/8/14 he is already in the USA in Louisville o.o already cleared customs and all that. HE MIGHT BE AT MY HOUSE TOMORROW

 

Hope everyone is staying sane waiting for their dolls!!! Only one more week wait to pay off the last of my doll, grrrrrr...why don't I get paid sooner??!!! I think it's so nice that everyone here is adopting dolls :3 Every doll deserves to have a loving home
