Second-Hand Doll Waiting Room v. 4

I'll be waiting on a second hand minifee body and 2 heads. The body is coming from my own country. We decided to wait for the 14th to ship so maybe the domestic backlog can clear. One head is coming from Spain and has already been accepted by the Spanish postal service. The other head will be coming from Russia! I don't know which head will arrive first, but maybe the body will already be waiting for her head(s).

Hey I hope your doll arrived ok. I'd like to share my experience hopefully this will help people who want to order from Russia at this time.
I had some order from Moscow late November and it took about a month to arrive the UK using Russian Post. There has been no updates since " package ready to be shipped " for about two weeks, but once it arrived UK it got cleared and delivered really quickly. Anirher Russian package was shipped from another city other than Moscow it took three weeks to arrive.

I can not complain about my experience.

Obviously now we are having stricter lockdown measurements in the UK and EU im not sure what's the status for now.

Will have another delivery coming in April, fingers crossed!!

 

I'm waiting for a DOT Shall I bought from Mandarake it's my first time buying from them (though ironically I've been in their Tokyo shops a couple times), and I'm really excited to have found a DOT doll! She's supposed to be shipped out today.

Meanwhile, my return package to the US which I shipped before Christmas had not arrived yetLuckily this time it's not a doll. I will probably check again in a few weeks or so.

 

I've just ordered my first stand-alone head! Got very lucky and found one of the few DDH's I've been eyeing on Mandarake.

Ranka is on her way home and I can't wait to give her a new face-up this year. Planning on putting her on a DDDy-f3 and making her into an older sister-like character to my other dolls, that's why I thought Ranka's more mature looking face was perfect

I just paid for a second-hand tan minifee vampire Maya! I'm so excited for her to arrive, but it'll take a while since she's getting a new face up from the seller . I've never had a tan minifee before, so I'm excited to see how different she'll be from my beautiful white Hwayu.

 

I'm currently waiting on an Iplehouse oYID Soo Ri head. Buying dolls second hand is fun!

I'm excited, I think he's going to be absolutely lovely. His big eyes are to die for.

 

I'm waiting for a volks lorina the one with the red hat and red dress version fullset. The seller not shipped her out yet very looking forward her arrival

I am waiting for a YoSD Bontenmaru, he is without his box, but his fullset is included. Hope he arrives soon and safe. My Megu is so happy to receive a friend!

 

I'm now waiting on a secondhand Hypermaniac Sirang from 2003.

From the research I've done, she seems like a pretty special girl... Seems like the older ones are coveted due to some changes being made in general designs later on down the line at the company.

That being said, the information I've been able to find on her is pretty limited.. so if anyone happens to know anything interesting about the Hypermaniac dolls/company and wants to share, I'd be really keen to hear.

I'm super excited to see what she's like. But the seller has been in a snowstorm for a while! So I must be patient.

 

I'm waiting on a magic mirror Moira that I got second hand on the marketplace. Super excited as I got her tracking number today, so hopefully she'll be here this week!

 

I was bad. I have to save for my trip (If we can go out by then) next year to Celebration Star Wars. But my friend is getting out of bjd's and she has a Fairyland Mirwen boy with custom face up. How could I say no. I'm Doomed! Look at that face.


I'm doing a payment plan until end of march. After this guy NO more....I know that's a lie. Save me! lol

Just wanted to post an update. Moira arrived on Saturday. I plan on wiping and redoing her faceup sometime soon. She's also a lot taller than I expected, but overall I love her body and face sculpt. She's my first elven girl!!

 

At the end of march I'll have fully paid for the Mini Dollfie Dream girl I'm buying from a fellow member of a BJD facebook group!! I'm so excited I wish I could pay for her all at once!
I've decided on her name already, Ayako Momoka Fujimori, or Aya to her friends - Momoka being the name her previous owner gave her, and I thought it was cute but still wanted to give her a fresh name, so Momoka is her middle name. I'm so happy she's coming with everything included; eyes, wig, outfit, etc - the seller is even throwing in an extra wig that's a similar colour to her current wig but is more curly!

Finally paid off my secondhand Volks Dollfie Dream Dynamite girl with a custom DDH03 head! I haven't owned vinyl in YEARS so I am excited to get back into worrying about staining BUT SO EXCITED FOR THIS PRETTY GAL cannot wait to take cute summer photos of her

 

I'm so happy for you! I'm waiting on my first vinyl girl myself, any tips on avoiding stains you can share? lol
I'm totally looking forward to seeing said summer photos! I know I'll be taking plenty of my MDD once she arrives.

 

Aaaahhh Maya's here!!! I've actually had her for a week-ish now and I feel so bad because nothing I put on her is making her work for me. Her face is so pretty, too...

On the bright side, I can finally compare BW, NS, and tan for myself! I think the BW only works for my Hwayu because she's a vampire lol. Obviously she gets no sun!

 

I'm waiting on a CP/Delf Chiwoo who just got shipped yesterday. However, he is travelling across the world to get to me so I'm trying to learn to be patient with shipping, especially with all of the delays from COVID He is a sculpt I have been wanting for about 10 years/since I got into the hobby so I'm really excited. I cried happy tears when the seller responded to my "wanted" post and offered to let me rehome their beautiful boy It's also been about 3 years since I last bought a doll and I had forgotten how exciting it is to wait for them to come home!

 

Well, the biggest tip I can recommend is dressing them in light colored clothes! Putting them in a protective "skin suit" can also help but lets be real who really does that! You can also look for anything that has light or flesh colored lining inside to protect staining! I had an AP girl who stained ever so slightly and my god I tried everything and she never got that small stain out..

 

Luckily my girl is gonna have a very pastel-coloured wardrobe anyways, so thats one less hassle, and I've been trying to find white-lined clothes to be extra careful. And yeah I agree that while skin suits are practical, they're not ideal in terms of aesthetics sometimes, so I'm hoping I can get by without lol

I found and put on layaway a Doll Chateau Elizabeth, a doll I've wanted ever since they came out in like 2013! WOOT!

She's been modded some, but I think that makes her even more unique.

Just finishing off my last payment for my Fairyland Mirwen boy. this dolls been on my bucket list . Getting him off a friend. So he should be shipping out next week. Can't wait to get him home. I have to figure out a name for him now.

My MDD girl Ayako has been paid off and shipped!!! FedEx tracking says she should arrive next monday, though I'm expecting she might be a bit late, but if she is on time that will be a pleasant surprise! I can't wait to finally have her, but I'm sad I can't afford any clothes for her right now since even with a 2-month layaway she wrang my doll budget dry financially lmao, she will have to wait till next month at least till I can order her the new wardrobe I have planned for her. At least she comes with an outfit and wig so she won't be indecent when she arrives

 

I just bought a BlueFairy Tommy girl!! She's an older gal I think, but I've been in this hobby since 2005 so she'll fit right in with my other kids lol. I've wanted a Tommy for 15 years but never found one secondhand I liked, and I never have money when the BF sculpt order period comes around, so it seems almost unreal that it's finally happening!! I'm so excited, it's gonna take ages for her to arrive shipping internationally, but after waiting 15 years what's a little longer, lol?

 

Just bought a Lillycat Chibbi Lana secondhand! I love mature tinies, and this one has been on my Pining List for a while. She's in the blue skintone, and I don't usually go for fantasy colors, so I might try to arrange a trade for one with a more natural complexion. Since she's coming from Russia to the US, I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to sort something out.

 

HOLY MOLY LADS my Tommy is here already!! She arrived super early and that's never happened to me in this hobby before, that sort of thing has always been the stuff of legend in my mind lol. She's so beautiful!!!! I hope everybody's dolls get here safe and sound, and soon!!

My MDD is here!!!! I'm so happy with her, she's adorable and the seller was so incredibly sweet and sent her packed perfectly. She needed some new eye putty since her old stuff was coming apart and wasn't nearly enough to keep both her eyes in properly, but it wasn't much trouble since I had some of my own on hand. I'm excited to buy her some new outfits and also to try on her 2nd wig, which the seller threw in as a free bonus for her - it's the same colour as her current wig, but slightly curly and with two little braided buns on top!

 

Joining as I’m waiting for an Island Doll Lenore head I bought off the market place here. A total impulse buy as I normally don’t allow floating heads. Oh well, cute cat head is cute.

i'm in the process of putting down the deposit for about 1/3 of the full price, on a fairyland realfee mari! i'm super excited, mermaids are special to me and i know she's out of stock/production, so finding a secondhand doll was a lifesaver! all i'll need for her are eyes ^^

 

I bought a fairyland Mirwen boy used. He got shipped to me a few weeks ago but he's now stuck in Toronto and has been for about a week. hoping they will release him soon so he can come home.

Probably overpaid compared to the discounted sales prices on Dollshe's website but at least I will get a doll.
Ever since I saw him I was so much in love with the sculpt.
Probably when I see him in Classic size I will buy him again lol.

 

Entering this waiting room as I snagged an adorable iMda 3.0 Élodie, a long-time dream of mine, from the secondhand market today. I overpaid for her as well but she had an adorable artist faceup that I didn't want to pass on. I'm beyond excited for her to ship out and reach me, although it may take a few weeks for me to finally be able to play with her!

I remember being completely devastated haha, but only a few months later, the person who adopted her put her back on the market. I couldn't miss this chance! Felt like fate

Just payed for a Soom Teschen off the marketplace. I've pretty much wanted one since they came out but was a bit too scared to buy second hand. He'll be my first second hand doll. ^^ He's shipping from Sweden to UK so I'm hoping he wont take too long. ^ ^

What's a normal wait time for second hand dolls? My tracking hasn't updated and I contacted the seller, who is going to get in touch with their postal service but I have no idea how long these things normally take. When should I start getting worried? ><

 

A lot depends on where it is coming from and where it is going. How long has it been since your tracking updated?

 

It's going from Sweden to UK. Tracking was updated on Jun 30th with a message saying the seller is preparing the package. Tracking from both shipping sites have not updated since. I'm low-key hoping that he just shows up at my local depot but I know with how crazy the postal service is I'm scared he's lost.

 

I am not overly familiar with shipping over there, I just know when I get stuff from Europe, it can just fall off the face of the earth for weeks. Some of the time, the tracking just stops working once it leaves the original county.
For your package, it is a bit concerning that it was not even scanned into the system other than acknowledging a label was made. It is good that the seller is checking into it. I hope it shows up soon!

The seller was very nice about it and seemed upset that nothing has changed. As it's the weekend I probably wont hear anything until Monday but I really wanted a second opinion on this.

 

I had this happen a couple weeks ago. The tracking just said it wasn't in the system and never updated, and never updated until after delivery. It was stressful and feel for you.

 

So the seller got back to me. Turns out the package ended up being too heavy so she had to change the delivery slightly which created a new tracking number. She forgot to update me. I have him safe and sound now. ^ ^ He’s so cute!

I have just ordered some clothes and wig for him. No clue what to name him yet. XD
