Hello! I´m quite new to both the hobby and this forum but I have done a couple of customizations on resin dolls. I usually use Tamiya TS-80 Flat Clear Spray Matt to seal and it has worked fine. However, now I´m interested in customizing an Imomodoll and since the material is different, I´m researching how different sealants will react to it. Some people have said that some sealants make the vinyl feel sticky/dirty or it simply doesn´t work but didn´t specify which ones. Now I´m a bit afraid of using the Tamiya one I have and ruin the doll. I´m sure most of you have way more experience than me, so what do you use for vinyl dolls like Imomodolls? Did someone tried using TS-80? MSC is currently unavailable in my country for some months, but if it´s really the only option I can try to get it on Ebay or some similar site. Thanks for reading!
I did my 2 imomos make up, and I used msc in one of them, but Citadel varnish munitorum matt works fine too. Nothing sticky or anything, finished its similar to MSC just only slightly less smooth finish. Just for that you have in mind, citadel varnish dry more fast, maybe for vinyl, and layers must be more light than using msc. But its a good option I think. But anyway you could to use Tamiya varnish on the inside of the head cap. I think that could works too because tamiya its used in others plastics figures too.
