Wanted SD17 button-down shirt pattern

Jul 2, 2021

    1. I've looked through the links provided in the pattern index threads with no success.

Does anyone have a pattern for a properly made button-down shirt? Properly made as in French seams, distance between button holes actually to scale, cuffs buttoned the right way round instead of slapped on backwards on the inner sleeve seam?

I've acquired a few artisan made shirts of this quality over the years so I wonder if anyone has sold such a pattern for 65cm guys. I've got a whole stash of lovely cotton lawns waiting. :)

      Thank you!

    3. @milodrums Thank you for the link! That's not bad, but it's still got the cuffs opening on the sleeve seam, which is the thing that bugs me the most. :sweat

    4. Well, yes. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a readymade pattern so I wouldn't have to scale it down myself and change anything about construction due to scale. :)

    5. :D On this size, I'd just approach it as I would full-sized....with itty bitty seams. Heck, I've done similar plackets on YoSD size ...and have the crossed eyes to show for it! :D If you haven't done it before, that link shows how to cut and line and set the placket (about halfway down the page. The size of it would be dependent on the width of your cuffs, the size opening you need for you doll's hands, and your own aesthetic. Good luck! I'm going to be up against the same thing once my new guys arrive. Not just my big guys, but their 30cm minimes! Scary!

Eeeewww! I see what you mean. I just looked at the shirt pattern linked above. That's ...not right! :D I tend to make all my own patterns, (because I'm really cheap!) so I hadn't seen that before.

    6. It's so common now, I don't know when it happened that everyone decided these cuffs were at all okay??? Even on expensive limited outfits???

I only collect big dolls - big enough to see the details, but not so big I can't carry them - so I don't have to cope with the mini/fashion sized woes, fortunately! I just have so many other demands on my time and energy that I'd rather pay for someone else's time and energy than swear at more tiny things in a day.

    7. Heh heh...all mine are tiny right now, and Wiishu (my avatar) is very demanding! He changes costumes at an SF con at least twice a day! I'm actually looking forward to my big lads.
