Hello everyone! Man, it has been a while since I had the time to do anything with my beautiful dolls, so the other day, I thought I'd get back into it. This is the first of many patterns I'm going to have up (some for sale, others just for free download like this one) because ideas never stop coming! This is a PDF pattern uploaded to my DeviantArt gallery, and I thought I'd put it up here, too, to see if anyone cared to use it or if it would be helpful It is for a 60cm girl, but I believe it would be possible to scale it down for smaller dolls, too. The pattern includes seam allowance, too, if you want, as well as the dotted line for the "stitch line" if you want to cut it out and add your own allowance to it The instructions are probably more rambling than people are used to, but I hope you find it useful! I assume you have some basic knowledge of sewing, but it's a pretty easy pattern (and adjustable, too, via the lacing) What do you think? Decent for a first pattern? Sam // Taeliac
It's a great costume pattern, though I'm afraid it isn't Renaissance. It appears to be a costume take on a medieval silhouette, with embellishments added. I love how it looks finished, all sleek and the lines are nice and graceful.
Hehe, I should have stuck with my original title of "Fantasy" more or less ;P I just figured, as an under dress (which is what it originally ways) it would work Thank you very much~
Squeee~! Perfect timing on your part, my dear. I was just about to do yet ANOTHER search for a medieval-style dress pattern for my new incoming girl. This is perfect! I'm going to make the sleeves more draped, but other than that it's exactly what I've been looking for, for the bodice and skirt part anyway. Totally didn't want to try princess seams without a pattern.... >w> I'll watch you on dA!
Thank you so much for this post. This was my first attempt at sewing anything and it turned out great! Your instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I liked it so much I tried it twice! Thanks again
Oooh, pretty! *doesn't have a doll yet so just bookmarks* You know, with a high-waisted sheer layer over it, it could pass as an art nouveau dress too, sort of like Rose's "jumping" dress in Titanic. . . Again, probably not historically accurate, but I'm sure it would look good!
Wow...that shows me how far behind I am on looking through my Deviations (OK, so the glaring 10,000+ number shows it, too...but yeah) as I've not seen this one of yours yet! I'll have to follow the link, save and fav it! I'm sure it can be adapted to smaller sized dolls, if people can find ways to adapt people patterns, then closer to size doll patterns should be easy(er)! And I think my Yllora would love a dress like that for herself...
With a few embelishments and alterations (different sleeve style and adding ribbons and a belt) this is perfect for my girl! I was wanting to take her to the Renn Faire next year and now i have a perfect design! Thank you for sharing
thank you so much for sharing, this looks great and looks perfect for my girl. i will post some pics as soon as i have made it for her. thank you again
