I'm working on a line of dolls called the Fauna Friends as part of my collection of dolls I'm developing. This is the rough prototype of my first doll, Taily Bone. Taily is an armadillo. I'm currently working on tweaking his design and cleaning him up a bit before I attempt casting. He stands like a rock though even without stringing so I have high hopes for this little guy. Any comments would be very much appreciated. I'd love to get some feed back. I'll post some more pictures as I make progress. View attachment 571
Cute! He's very unique. Congratulations on making him so stable. I'd love to see him strung and posed.
Thank you. I'm working on joint mobility right now. It's a little bit of trial and error but it's been fun.
And here's another prototype for the Fauna Friends. Bruce the Mexican Free tailed Bat! I'm experimenting with legs and joint mobility right now. View attachment 572
I'm having a lot of trouble with body engineering so while I get that sorted out I think I'm going to focus on artist cast heads of my animal pals while I do all that math and junk. Oh also I have since learned that we have black bears migrating to Texas! So I'm making a bear head to celebrate. I'll have a picture of the prototype once it's done baking. Woo! Welcome bears!
Here's the bear head as promised. I think it should fit well on a DC MSD body Sorry for the blurry cell phone shot. Once I clean it up I'll see if I can get one of my photography friends to get a better picture. View attachment 580
Oh man these anthro's look great. Nice choice for species too, I haven't seen an armadillo or a bat BJD yet. Bruce has gotta be my favourite so far, that little smile! Those are interesting proportions you're working with, and I can't wait to see how they look later on.
