Hi!, I was wondering if the Sculpey Living Doll clay works well. I am using Sculpey III actually, but want to teste this one. Some experiences??? Thank's a lot, wise people
I've used it before and it seems to work pretty nice, the only important thing is: make sure you bake it properly!! to soft and it will tear under the tension of the elastic, too hard and it will be un-sandable! a good hint is to bake it with a proper oven thermometer so you can closely follow up the temperature. I usualy bake it at the maximum temperature allowed but leave it in a little longer than I'm suposed to. then I sand it with 3m sanding sponges and baby/olive oil.
Ok, thanks for your response. I bought it today and I guess I will have it after tomorrow. I will follow your advice (although I have no oven thermometer.) Thanks also for telling me about the oil! every day I learn something new thanks to all of you!
I recently bought a pound of this for trying out~ Morezmorez used it for her second BJD project, and said it was wonderful to work with. Hearing a second opinion of it has helped me justify buying it on a whim. XD; So I'm glad this question was asked. I'll come back and leave my thoughts on it when I actually start to use it. :3
Hi there! I love living doll. I've used just about all the polymer clays at one time or another. What I like about Living Doll (and Prosculpt... same clay different name, I believe) is that it's very easy to blend fresh clay into an already cured part with little to no visable line. It certainly depends on HOW you work though... you know some folks are "adders" ( put clay on either before or after baking) and some are "subtractors" (take clay away by sanding, carving, scraping, etc....). Especially if you are an "adder," Living Doll is a really nice clay.
I bought a bar of it to try to sculpt a tiny. I haven't had the chance to use it yet (damnyoucollege!) but I'll make sure to report back here. xD
