this is how she started out here she is with beads for arms and legs because i was impatient and couldnt wait to see how she would look with limbs here she is after i finished baking her legs...broke one..and glued it back together >_>;; OMG look! she stands up even with my crappy joint construction and her giant egg head that weighs about 4 tons all by itself! ^__^ and one pose for the camera...i love this little kitty doll.. i realize she looks a LOT like a catsy but i dont plan to sell these..this is merely my mom's christmas present. She loves kitties..and she likes these dolls so..i mixed the two lol.. the kitty doll's name is KitKat, it was supplied by a friend of mine and it just stuck around...i plan to paint her to look slightly abysinnian-ish when shes completely done and ready for gift giving...I also need to finalize her tail, and make slits in her joint beads so she can put her arms down and close her $&@*#^()%# legs. and her eyes wont be opened. im going to paint them on as i dont really want to risk chopping up her head and breaking her cute little ears. ^______^ for a first completely finished doll, what do you all think? she took me about 3-4 days to complete.
dont worry i will ^__^ i plan to have her all finished by next week sometime..i hope im fixing her joints today..and then working on painting her for the next few days
she has such a sweet face! and silly me, i didn't even think of using round beads for joints when I was thinking of making my own doll...^^;; I'm sure your mom will love her!
that is great! . (and i'm not way into the kitty thing either) Do you have other dolls? I'm in the process of making a ball jointed doll and i don't have a dolfie or anything to take apart and figure out the joints and mechanics behind it. I'm sort of hit and missing on a lot of it. Did you use a tutorial or anything? I too can't wait to see it all painted
this is my first homemade BJD that ive ever finished. Ive started one or 2 others and then kinda abandoned my project. I didnt really use a tutorial other then just studying whats here in this part of the forum. I looked at what other people had done and then kinda tweaked it in my own mind. if an artist did something i wasnt terribly fond of then i changed it. if they did something that just flat out didnt work..then i made sure i wouldnt do the same thing. i also looked at that one gothic lolita bible extra with the BJD making tutorial. its all in japanese but the pictures really explain themselves. I dont have any scans ATM though x__x. i know there was a big discussion on it earlier in the year around here somewhere though. im no expert or anything but if i can help somehow let me know ^__^
