I was able to get Scratch colored sooner than expected. So here is Siamese Scratch... and her current favorite toy (also more photos of different breed on page 2)- I am working still on my Shelly the Turtle dolls, and they are almost ready to ship For those who were asking about Scratch, she will be available very soon through my website at www.themushroompeddler.com
Thanks The resin has a texture which I added during sculpting to give her a furry look. I am glad it came across as planned.
Aww man, I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread! Now I want a Scratch. Really bad. :dead When you put her up for sale, how long will she be available? And will she be for sale every year like Shelly?
I plan to have a doll for each month and Scratch will be available during December each year, so this year she will only be available until New Years Day. Hopefully I will have January's doll ready to go by then, but since this is the first year of starting my business and I am doing it all on my own right now from start to finish of each doll, I may do every other month until I have them all done over a two year period. We will have to see how well I do at keeping up with things. I have three young children as well, so my life is a bit unpredictable at times If anyone has a particular animal they would like to see me make, please let me know and I will put it on my idea list for future dolls.
Oh! ~ Especially loving those ears... By the way I just tried and couldn't load your site themushroompeddler.com, I'm getting a "403 Forbidden" error message.
I just updated the site with photos and ordering information for Scratch so hopefully it will show up for you soon Make sure you refresh the page to see it that will help. If it doesn't, I am still working on figuring out why some people can't see my web store while others can. I do plan to list photos and sales on etsy as well, so you can go here to see Scratch - http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheMushroomPeddler
Aah, kitties and their yarn She is just too cute! The textured resin works really well, she looks furry ^^
Saw your Auction listing on eBay .... And link to your etsy page .... Hopefully I will proudly have one of your wonderful cats in the future .... Especially if you do a Black Cat version :-)
I love it! And I'll have you know I'm very particular about cats (I love them to bits, and it's hard for me to like any depiction of them if it's not very well done). These photos also empathise the already great job you made with sculpting and painting that you made, and compliment your doll greatly. I didn't think of dolls not with human forms much, but you certainly show me and make me appreciate there are a lot more options than my mind was limited to. Thank you so much for sharing, it's a pleasure to be exposed to the works of so many wonderful artists like you!
Wow, too adorable! I love the shape of the eyes, the big ears, and the tail. Those paws are so good. If I may ask, how did you achieve such an interesting pattern in the resin?
I am very late at answering your question... but better late than never right? When I decided I wanted a texture for my dolls, I realized right away that doing it all by hand would take forever lol So, I sculpted a tool with the texture I wanted in reverse on the tip (a bit tricky to do I must add) and I use it to "stamp" the texture on a little at a time. Still takes awhile but a whole lot less time than doing the texture by hand with each part.
@Edo Elric The Mushroom Peddler has a facebook page ( The Mushroom Peddler ). They are considering re-releasing old sculpts, so there is a chance you don't have to miss out on this doll again
