Customs Scoop on the packages arriving in United States & delayed from all of Europe

I don't have any updates yet, but I'm starting to think that maybe my packages arrive without any tracking update at all.

 

Phew! Okay, I have responded to my USPS customer service survey about the quality of my experience with them (not very flattering, I'm afraid) and sent a question to US Customs through the form on their website, which was very easy to do. Hopefully this will get some attention on my poor missing box.

I'm with you, shaDrouet, I'm never ordering during this time of year again, and I will really hesitate before ordering anything internationally from an individual seller at any time. Which is a shame, but the delay and the high cost of shipping combined really don't make it worth the effort.

Thanks, shaDrouet! I've already checked with my local PO, however, and they don't have the box. My mailman is really nice and helpful, and he doesn't know what the delay is either. Also I have an internal door for my mail slips so it seems really unlikely that it would blow away. And customs emailed me back just now by copy and pasting what it said about delayed packages on their website, which didn't answer my question when I read it there before, and certainly didn't help to have it mailed at me. I read the FAQ before I sent the email. :p

Right now my only hope is that it will just turn up, or that my seller will get back to me about the package trace from her end. Tracking has been known to only update for me after delivery, so right now that's about all I've got left. I've called and emailed everyone I can, twice in some cases. USPS says Customs has it and they can't track it, Customs says USPS has it and they can't track it. It's like trying to reason with hamsters.

I'll probably just watch the thread without posting until I get some better news or a resolution, because I really don't have any cheery optimistic spirit about this situation anymore. I just want it done with, one way or another.

 

I just got my package from Norway today! They did open the box and forgot to tape it closed but I think everything from the 'swap' is still there. I'm so happy I found this thread cause it gave me hope.

Hope everyone gets their packages soon and all dollies are in perfect condition.

I'm sure they'll let me know as soon as they receive their packages. I have been in contact with them during all this process (I'm a seller who is always looking for her packages while travelling around the world!! XD).

 

Has the problem been any better?

I have a head coming from Spain and on the tracking it has said "Origin Post Is Preparing Shipment" but it's said that since like Friday or Saturday.

 

Hoping for tomorrow >.<

I sent an email also.. Lets see.

 

Another new day of waiting. Let's hope my packages arrive soon. Maybe next week?

 

Updates!!

My package sent on December 20th arrived today!! No updates on the tracking number at all, but the package reached its destination safe and sound, thanks God!!! I'm so happy!!

These are the packages I'm still waiting for delivery:
- 1 sent on November 17th. Claimed. Awaiting reply from my post.
- 1 sent on December 10th. Claimed. My post replied me it is not lost, just awaiting USPS to deliver it.
- 1 sent on December 14th. Claimed. Same as above.

Thank you!! I'm waiting for 3 of my packages to reach its destinations, but at least one made it home and only 3 are left. Let's hope next week I have more news! ò_ó

 

There's still no word on my end, and no change in my tracking, but I hope with so many packages arriving that mine will be getting here soon. I'm so glad people are having their parcels and dolls turn up at last.

 

My status changed to Arrival at Unit. I almost burst into tears I'm so happy! I was gonna give it another week and then give up hope on ever seeing him. I will post back once he's in my arms and I see his condition. Praying for no damage.

My other package I was waiting on from my Secret Santa person hasn't even arrived yet. I was hoping they'd arrive at the same time. I wonder where that went off to.. Though there's a good chance it could come by next week

Congrats to everyone that has gotten their dollies in! Also, I never did post a box opening on the forum. I got really lazy with it. ^^; but if anyone would like to see my boy that had me up in arms from taking so long to arrive, I did just post a Vday photostory with him in it (he's a k-doll kill_u and in the pics he's the one with the blue and black mohawk).

Jane - I'm with sha, just hang tight and hopefully everything will arrive to it's destination safely! We all felt like our packages would never get to us (or their person). I was for sure my boy was lost. Let's just hope this feeling of it being lost is just the same as it was for all of us, a case of the nerves from the wait time. No news from my other packages yet, but I hope I have some arrival this week! ò__ó

 

I was really really hoping this morning would bring some change to my tracking, but alas, nothing. Still the Jan 14 "out of customs" notice, and now it's exactly a month since the last update. My tracking's been the same for so long now I expect it to be declared a world heritage site. :p When I ordered him I never dreamed I'd still be waiting by Valentine's Day.

So glad this thread's around, though! It gives me hope he'll turn up eventually. Maybe even before Halloween!

 

No news of my packages today T^T Maybe tomorrow? I won't be able to believe it's true once they're all delivered!

 

Everyone I've spoken to at the PO has told me the same thing, that Customs can keep things for as long as they want and they can't tell me any more information than what is on the tracking, and that I need to have my seller start a trace. My seller said she started a trace/claim two weeks ago, but she still hasn't answered my PM from last week asking for more info. I just sent her another one this morning. I don't know if she just didn't reply because she didn't have news, but if I don't get a reply this time I guess I'll have to page her. (edit, got a reply right away!)

At this point, honestly, I just want my money back. It is a doll body, not a full doll, and I can order another one for the same price I paid for this one (and the $60 of useless shipping). The weirdness with my tracking makes me think it is really lost, because Customs says they don't have it and it's left them and USPS says they don't have it either, and both of them say I have to get my sender to do the claims proccess. Right now I just want to be done with it and move on. I'm sick of the whole mess.

 

But USPS never help, never. They always say "your sender must..." and they don't move a finger. If your seller already claimed, there is nothing for her to do other than expect a resolution from her postal service. If it's Spanish postal service, claim can take up to 2 months to find a resolution.

 

Yeah, my post office has been nice but pretty much useless. :p My seller got back to me (yay!) to say that she hasn't heard anything, but she'll stop by the post office tomorrow for an update. She's in Norway, not Spain, but it probably will take at least as long for a resolution to the claim. (Still, I want to make sure the process is still going.)

 

More good news!! Another one of my packages is at the buyer's post office for picking it up!!

So I just need 2 of my package to arrive:

Oh, more news!! My package from December 10th is now "arrival at unit"!!!!!!!!! I can't express how happy I'm right now!! I hope my package from November appears soon!

I had a head sent to me from a friend in EU. He was 0.354kg or roughly about .7 pounds.
So not quite there but almost.

EU says we have him, US says they have him still. ;; No updates for 3 days.
At first I wasn't surprised because this is USPS and they're all kinds of special, but now I'm worried ;;

This is a very special doll to me ;A;

 

This seems to still be an on-going problem, yes. I had a package shipped from Spain on January 26th that says it arrived in customs on February 2nd (more than two weeks from today) and hasn't moved since then. The U.S. says customs in Spain have it, customs think the U.S. has it, it's a big mess. To see some people have things shipped from November that hasn't showed up yet certainly makes it feel like I am in for a long wait.
